Just tried Chiu Fai Garden tonight for the first time...and it was delicious! It's your standard American-Chinese offerings (e.g., General Tso's, Sesame chicken, fried rice, lo mein) but it was prepared perfectly and delivered hot! My take on American-Chinese restaurants is that they should be like McDonald's --- it will be good as long as (1) it's hot and (2) made the way you expect it, every time. Chiu Fai delivered on those two points, so we will be back! read more

This place serves up some tasty Chinese takeout at cheap prices with huge portions. I got roast pork lo mein, crab rangoons, and a pint of wonton soup for around 10 bucks. They're pretty quick with your order too and the food stays hot for a while. Overall solid takeout spot. read more

We were in the area and thanks to fellow Yelpers, we ended up there. First--it's hidden in the back of an office building and the signage out front is not great. It is unfortunate for the restaurant but hopefully word of mouth will keep them in business. The food was good. The hot and sour soup was more sour than hot but it was good and not greasy. The sweet and sour chicken was good--again, not greasy. Bonus. The chicken with broccoli was well cooked (not soggy broccoli). Would have liked a bit more flavor and spice. We rounded out the meal with an order of mixed veggies. I know--we didn't go authentic but compared to other Chinese places, it was good. These guys were awful. We never even got to order the food! I gave them the address multiple times. I explained that we were located at an address that represents an entire city block, so she had to deliver to a specific entrance. She kept saying she had the address and that the entrance was on a side street. I kept telling her that wasn't the case, and to please listen to the directions I was giving her. She refused to listen. I told her exactly where to pull up, and to even have the driver call us so we could go to him. She kept telling us she knew where the lobby was, and I kept telling her we aren't at the lobby, nor was that how to get to us. I finally had to tell her to forget it and we'd order somewhere else. Maybe if those answering the phones would listen more instead of trying to tell customers where they were physically located at the time they are calling Chiu Fat Garden, they'd get some more orders. The food was hot and ready when I arrived (after 15 minutes) and it all tasted pretty much what I'd expect from a small takeout joint. The last four times I've ordered the food has been under done, or over done, but the icing on the cake was finding a long piece of black hair cooked in the beef on the stick, and couldn't see it because it was the same color as the meat which was burned. When i called to ask for a credit, I was told u would be credited back, but never was. I will never order from them again! They have lost my business for good. I kept giving them chances because I thought that they had a change in ownership, definitely in chefs because the food is no longer what I consider good, or really edible. This has become my new favorite place in town. I Discovered this place on Yelp and must I say I am pleased. The Ice Tea is by far the best that I have had in awhile. I ordered the shrimp and broccoli and I must compliment them on how the shrimp was cleaned and deveined. The general Tso's chicken has excellent flavor and the portion is more than enough where you will not be complained. The restaurant is clean and the staff seems pretty friendly. The location has it tucked away in a corner and you will drive past it if you do not know where you're going. I have eaten here about 4 times and thus far and I have no complaints. The prices are very competitive and the turnover for walk in orders is very timely. Even with their shrimp fried rice they give you plenty of shrimp with your order and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area or looking to try a new Chinese restaurant. read more

CLEAN AND CONSISTENT! You'll miss this place if your driving too fast and blink. It's set back off of Westport Av next to Starbucks. Once you find it, you will not be upset. The location is kept clean and there are several tables inside to enjoy your meal or you can take it to go. The staff has always been friendly. If you order your food to stay, they will bring it to your table with a smile. I have had several of their steamed dishes and they have ALL been wonderful. I usually opt for the brown rice and request the hot oil on the side to spice things up. I a couple of occassions I tried the chicken and broccoli combination and was very pleased. The portions are plentiful enough for two, so I usually take home leftovers. There's no view or anything else to do except eat, which is usally what I do. Yes, I am that person who is eating with my head down looking at my phone but I have to entertain myself somehow. With that being said, Norwalk does have a lot of Chinese options, but this location is worth you going to get consistent good food with a friendly environment. read more
