Been going here since 1993. Food is always fresh and authentic, place is always super clean. It's everything you want and more from Chinese takeout. Friendly service, great location and easy parking to do a quick pick up with no hassle. Always generous with the the cute bamboo chopsticks and sauces. Only thing I would ask for is one of your small aquarium tanks back and a goldfish or two...the place isn't the same without them. read more

The service is impeccable service is unmatched but the food is what takes this place to the next level. There are dozens of Asian Restaurants in the area, but the freshness, and unique combination of herbs, spices and cooking techniques makes Tiger Bowl stand out. The fried chicken delights(IE Sesame, General Tso, Lemon, Orange, etc) are unlike your standard chinese fair. Unlike other restaurants the crispy fried chicken is crispy on the outside, but magically soft in texture on the inside. There is a certain fluff to the inside of the chicken, almost similar to a corn dog batter. The soups are perfect for a cold winter's day, and the beef dishes shine as well. My only critique is with the bonelesss ribs and spare ribs. Thought cooked nicely the sauce is a bit heavy and way too sweet. In an area oversaturated with restaurants this is THE Go-To for delicious Chinese food for the whole family. Favorite Chinese food take out. People who answer phone speak English well and place is very clean. Steamed pork dumplings were delicious; They are are thicker than most, but very flavorful. I loved their egg drop soup as well. We liked the chicken and broccoli because that broccoli wasn't over cooked as it sometimes can be soft and soupy. We also enjoyed the spare ribs. I've been a customer for as long as Tiger Bowl has been in Westport. Obviously it was once OK, since I kept coming back. BUT, no more. How could you not be able to make Sweet & Sour Pork? So over the years I've gone back for lunch and only once I would say it was bad. Now the biggest surprise of my 2 recent visits -- have had delicious meals. Tender, huge pieces of chicken with the vegetables in garlic sauce. It's actually the best I've found around here and also very reasonably priced. Dumplings were quite good! This used to be a weekly staple with amazing food and good portions at very reasonable prices. Seems like they've undergone some management changes, and while I had seen Mr. Lee (he's the man!) there in years past, I haven't seen him recently. This is one of the few sit down Chinese places in the whole area that falls in between high fine dining like the Little Kitchen and the fast takeout places you usually think of for Chinese food or Chinese takeout. 5 stars in the 1990s, but still 4 stars now.
