They have freezer sections, fresh cuts, vacuum sealed items, I'd even go as far as saying that if you needed something off-menu, they might be able to hook you up. The folks behind the counter were very patient, and super efficient. We ended up leaving with two maple blueberry breakfast sausages, two decent sized New York Strip steaks, 2 girthy Who Dat Balls, 2 giant stuffed chicken breasts (one Italian, one 4 cheese), a dozen boudin stuffed tamales, and two thiccc vac-sealed brisket burgers. Even so, there so much more to go back for. Luckily this joint sits right along the route to family, and we will be back for more. They have an array of your usual meats, plus a plethora of exotic and wild meats, and accompaniments. Some of their items can come pre-seasoned or pre-rubbed. Parking is easy on a weekend, but could be tight during rush. They also have a customer service reward program, so get your stamp on. At the time I drove into Houston to find dark chocolates so I was thrilled to see Tifa had opened up nearby and I bookmarked it to try out as soon as I had a chance. My birthday is today so as a treat to myself I grabbed my cousin and she came with me to try out Tifa after dinner. It was perfect. Plenty of parking as it's near a bunch of great dining spots. It's bright and smells amazing inside and you're greeted warmly with kind words and the biggest most beautiful smile from the owner as you walk in. I was overwhelmed from viewing all the amazing things they had on their website so I went in with a game plan, chocolates/truffles only and taste test the gelato. My cousin surprised me by buying my 7-piece chocolate box which included an eggnog dark chocolate truffle, peppermint bark chocolate, dark chocolate pumpkin, wild strawberry dark chocolate, tiramisu dark chocolate, raspberry dark chocolate, and an amaretto milk chocolate. I also grabbed an Element rose cardamom dark chocolate bar. The owner securely kept our chocolates for us at the register and we moved forward to join the gelato line to try all the gelato samples we wanted. (There was no line at all when we first arrived I should add). I tried several of the gelatos. All were amazing. My favorites were the stracciatella and Casablanca bloom. My oh my, they each had the perfect and most incredible blend of flavors. Their lemon gelato was also so refreshing. I'll definitely be back to buy a scoop of each and perhaps with some drinking chocolate over them. I've gotta try that out since I've never had it before. They have so many ways to flavor their drinking chocolates, you start with dark, milk or white chocolate and can add any of their wide assortment of flavors and believe me they have a very wide variety. They also have lattes and such as well. The staff was super kind and helpful. I wish I had caught their names so I could recognize them here but since I did not if you worked at Tifa around 9PM on Dec 13, 2025 huge kudos to you! You are great at your job and provided me and my cousin exceptional service! Much appreciated especially during the holiday season and a day before my birthday. They even sell bulk items such as nuts, flour, nutritional yeast, dried fruit, natural detergent, oils, loose-leaf teas, etc. Some are made in-house, including vegan hot chocolate mix. I like getting my seasonings and spices here, opposed to the grocery store, because it is very fresh and hasn't been sitting out for years upon years on end. There aren't a lot of raw vegan restaurants down south of 45, but surprise, surprise, Natural Living has raw vegan onsite. I've only eaten there twice, and due to the limited hours throughout the week. I am only able to get down here on the weekends in the morning. I frequent Nokturne more as a vegan restaurant in CL, just due to the simple fact of the flexibility of hours. At Natural Living, I ordered the taco salad; it was vegan meat crumbles and veggies. There were more veggies than meat. A limited amount of dressing to lather the veggies, so it made the salad a bit dry, but tasty. I loved the peanut butter cookies on sale. They were my favorite. I love that they have a food fair program for organic fruits/vegetables from local gardeners. I'm not a big fan of organic anything as I feel that it is more of a marketing gimmick, but if others care about that, that's a perk. The program is very affordable. I've personally never tried it, but I always wanted to. The ambiance can be a bit off; the staff is sometimes nice, sometimes don't want to be bothered. The apothecary side of things system is just grab jars of what you want, and they weigh it, put it in baggies, and you pay for it. However, things can get complicated when there a multiple people on the apothecary side and there is nowhere to wait since the whole building is tight and small. Now the pricing; this establishment isn't the cheapest, but when you factor in the value of what you are purchasing with the quantity of goods, then you are getting a solid deal. They sell crystal jewelry, and parking is across the street. I always tell people I'm going to the apothecary, and when they Google it, they can't find it, so it is definitely a hidden gem. I would have given them 5 stars across the board, but with the very limited hours not good for the working class working between 8 am - 5 pm; they close at 6 pm, closed on Sundays and Mondays. I hate that, but I will continue to only come on Saturdays.
