This place has everything Cajun and Creole: thorough hot sauce selection, Cafe du Monde coffee, jambalaya and etouffee mixes, Dutch ovens, RC Cola/Moon Pies, stuffed duck breasts, chicken breasts, pork chops, andouille sausages, boudin sausages, cracklins, pecan pralines, hog's head cheese, pickled quail eggs, LSU merchandise, cookbooks, alligator tails.... everything. We had a delicious dark roux (difficult to achieve) chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. It was the best gumbo I've had in years. Their andouille sausage is incredible (keep the jokes to yourself). Boudin balls and boudin egg rolls were ok. We're going back to try everything else on the menu. Also, we got some Boudin to go the next day. It was perfect. We got the mild Boudin. Decided to come try this Cajun place out and I did not care for it at all. The service was quick to order but it takes awhile to get your food. The ambiance is that of a convenience store nothing different. Personally, the only good thing were the fries. We ordered 1/2 # of cracklins that were way over cooked and tasted like fish, fries and everything else. They must use the same oil for everything they make. They lacked their real cracklin flavor. Also ordered the chicken and sausage gumbo. It is too dark and lacked flavor and spices. Enough meat but no flavor. The hot sausage poboy which was pan sausage, (ugh) was very greasy. All the grease seeped into the bread which was gross. The cheese boudin balls lacked flavor and kick to them. Nice little set up but just not for me. Looking through the window it doesn't look like a sit down restaurant, but it is. It's not fine dining. Don't be fooled by my pictures. We didn't do takeout, we ate there. The tables are small and your food comes in Styrofoam containers with plastic utensils. You must buy water if you want it and didn't bring it. I got the meat fried pies and she got red beans and rice. The meat pies were okay, but nothing I'd make a trip for. She didn't care for her beans & rice -- I think it was the beans she didn't like. Had the crawfish po boy and it was super good. They have a nice frozen/ fridge aisle full of food they make fresh. I got the chicken thighs and jalapeño, and can't wait to try it. The owner is super friendly and was really helpful in choosing what we want to eat for dinner. read more

I enjoyed my visit. Order at counter for menu items. I ordered a shrimp poboy to go. Also, picked up mini king cakes. The cake is brought in for Mardi gras (made locally). The Sandwich was hot, not greasy, and fresh. Cake was superior to anything from a chain grocery. Both were good. Store was clean. There's a freezer section and shelf items. Mercantile portion is small. Tables are limited. Service was friendly and professional. I over heard a lady asking for crab and corn soup.. it wasn't on the menu for the day, but they assured her they would add it to the menu rotation. That soup sounded great. Saw their add in the local monthly paper so thought I'd give their Tuesday lunch special (Sloppy Roast Beef Poboy) a try. I didn't really have very high expectations even though the few reviews I read on Yelp were outstanding. Boy, was I wrong...WOW!!! The light, fresh bun was packed with the most tender, juicy, flavorful roast beef I've ever tasted. I couldn't stuff it in my mouth fast enough. The poboy came with a side of home made pork rinds - again, probably the best I've ever tasted. I know where I'll be going for lunch on Tuesdays from now on! Abes Cajun Market has been my "go to" Cajun place for over 20 years...but Chloe's may have changed that. read more

Very good Crawfish Etouffee lunch plate today. Served with salad and a heavenly slice of garlic toast. The Etouffee at Chloe's has authentic Cajun/Creole flavor. I also sampled the Cracklins which are excellent! We'll be returning to try the shrimp and roast beef po-boys. read more

Called at 5p to see if they had any cracklins ready (they close at 6p). The store owner said no but the fryer was still hot and he would be happy to make more if I was planning on dropping by. I told him that if he would make them, I would come. I ended up getting there ~20 minutes later and he was pulling them out of the fryer. I ended up taking 1lb, 4 boudin balls, and a crawfish pie. The customer service is excellent and the food is great. I have eaten cracklins all over Louisiana and Chloes are the softest and best seasoned by far. Love this place and hope to keep returning to get my dose of good food and service. read more

Very good shrimp poboy. The bread is perfect and had a lot of shrimp. I would probably slice the tomato thicker and add a little more slaw if I made it, but it was a really solid sandwich. Stopped in to check out this new restaurant/market. Got a king cake and some gumbo. Very impressed with both. I will be a repeat customer.

We have tried a number of "cajun " restaurants since we moved here two years ago from Louisiana. The pickings were slim. My husband saw this place and I thought, not another eatery trying to convince patrons that cajun food is nothing but cayenne.If you are from Louisiana, this is the place for you! They have the products that Louisiana people really cook with. (Not like the selection in local grocery stores that a salesman convinced HEB & others to buy). Freezer section has good selections. We had the eggrolls, crawfish pies, gumbo & po-boys. The po-boys are made with true french bread from Ledinhemiers. All we ate was true Louisiana cooking!! We will be regulars. Try it! read more
