My family and extended family gets it to go and have been for years (we live in Houston). There's nothing like crawfish season in Texas! The crawfish at Boyd's is always huge and we were very pleased with the size this year. Meat wise - lots of it. Flavor wise - Cajun is not as strong or punchy as Viet Cajun, but it's there.

Crawfish went straight to the trash can!

Bought 10 lb of crawfish that went straight to the garbage. I can tell the crawfish were boiled the day before or even more than that. It's dangerous to eat, the tails are dark grey/ black! See the pictures attached. Waist of money and time! Very disappointed. Shame to sell that kind of product to customers. if it won't be too far to drive, I would return this garbage!

I had the crawfish bundle with potatoes, corn and sausage. The food was so delicious and fresh. I ate on the side of the beach and it was very peaceful.

$2 lb! I drove from clear lake to get this deal. I brought 8lbs of crawfish and two potatoes for myself. Shaking my head and couldn't eat more than five pounds. I put up a good fight tho. Lol They were not spicy at all, sizes were mixed and not really juicy. So don't worry about sucking head. A few were over cooked but overall pretty good, just not spicy enough. I tired to order over the phone but they do not take cooked orders over the phone. Which is said because it's always a line at the window.

    Shrimp taco $2

Returned and tried the blackened shrimp tacos. They are made similar to the Baja California way, not the lame houston way (with lettuce...lol), so they're actually pretty good. Shredded cabbage, chipotle sauce, thick white corn tortilla, pico de gallo, squeeze of lime.....yummo!

Sign stating they had almost none of the food on their menu available
    Sierra B.

Called and on hold for 20 minutes on my drive over. No one ever answered. I showed up and they didn't have any crawfish, shrimp or burgers. Not worth it... they could've just picked the phone up and let customers know and we would've been willing to come back another time to try them. Also sat in parking lot for 10 minutes just waiting and typing this and they never answered the window for the 3 people standing & waiting. Food can't be that good for that type of service if you ask me...

We were given an inflated price that overcharged by about $20 from what we calculated the total should be for our three items: full rack of ribs, mushroom burger, 10 wings. At the window we asked for an itemized receipt - we were told they didn't have one as we were waiting we took a picture of the menu - did the math and came to the conclusion we were indeed overcharged. Upon talking with the owner he was able to provide an itemized receipt and he did NOT overcharge us - it's just that their menu does not reflect what they're actually going to charge you - on the menu for the ribs stated 22.99 and we were charged 29.99. The reasoning being they have larger ribs now. I don't know how big the old ribs were but these are huge! The food is fantastic -the best ribs I've had in Texas- just beware of how much you're paying and have extra money available. I think it would be simple to stick some white tape over the old prices and sharpie in the new prices- just a suggestion.

Great authentic Cajun accent, Joe, but where's the Cajun food?…read moreJoe must have a loyal following, because the place (now Cajun Joe's Premium Seafood) has been in business for 15 years, although under at least one other name: Cajun Joe's Fried Chicken. The building shows wear and tear (perhaps from hurricane Ike) and looks like an old KFC building. The sign out front (including logo) indicates chicken. I am in a hurry, so I opt for the drive through. Menu is so extensive for such a small number of customers and staff that it likely means most is from frozen. Seafood, burgers, chicken, BBQ... and surprisingly (may we have a drum roll please) ... Mexican food! Oh, and pork chops! Burger was recommended by a local craftsperson, but seafood is the namesake. Choices: Catfish, redfish, snapper, shrimp. I order the 5 pc fried shrimp, with fries and toast for $6. While I am waiting at the window of the drive through, I look straight ahead, and lo and behold I am surprised to be looking into someone's back yard and patio windows with only wire hurricane fence separating us. Maybe they're looking back at me. What if it were night time? It would seem the headlights shining directly in the patio door windows might bother them. Or, maybe this saves money on the light bill. Or, maybe there aren't many night CJ customers. Or, maybe that is CJ's house. Still waiting for Joe at the window. I look into the restaurant. Nice Tiffany-lamp style stained glass hanging lamp shades over the table, with "Cajun Joe's" on it. Joe must be the only worker on a Sunday. I guess he is a Jacque of all trades. There are some other customers inside. Now a truck pulled in behind my car. Food must not be that bad. Well, the shrimp looked and tasted like they were bought pre-breaded. They were overcooked and tough. The tartar sauce was horrible. The fries were ok. "Premium Seafood"?? No. Garlic bread was excellent, though. Maybe spaghetti should be added to the menu. I guess I should have ordered a burger. I am starting to sense that Joe tried chicken when he first bought the place, but there was probably a reason KFC failed. So, then he tried adding other things to the menu in hopes of bringing in more business. But they are all missing 'La Marque' (pun intended). In fairness to CJ's, the whole area is down; for example, La Marque's Mall of the Mainland is mostly a ghost mall and a failure.

I asked our waitress if she could move a floor fan near for some relief and to detour the gnats, she said she go ask but she never came back and when she did she completely forgot my request. We weren't seated in the greater eating area where it was cooler and maybe where the gnats were less of a bother. The food was delicious and homemade, you can tell it was made with high quality ingredients and that Southern skill that you can only get from helping Grandma in the kitchen. BUT the roaches made us lose our appetite. Such a shame. It seemed like the building went down. They don't seem to put as much effort into the condition of that place as they do the food. Dusty ceiling fans and crummy floors. I appreciate the homey vibe but it looked really junky, more stuff piled in unoccupied corners as before. I gave a lot of things the side eye, I mean it there has to be maintained asthetic. They charged an 18% gratuity on my tab for a party of 8 but I arrived with 4 people, the other 4 had already been there, paid and was almost done with their meal. Then of course the cashier/waitress still mentioned an additional, optional tip. I didn't think that was fair. At the end of it all she wasn't the best waitress.

So my mom and I go there and it says "drive thru only" on the front door, so we go to the drive thru. Now this lady was taking our order, and my mom and I felt her attitude from the JUMP. Pouted lips, looked aggravated just being there. We'll call her cashier lady. Cashier lady closes the door and they start making our food. It's like 3 people I saw in there. So my mom and I are clowning and whatever and I tell her that the lady by the food was patting her head. VIGOROUSLY. There was tint on the window but it was a little patch that wasn't tinted. So we're looking at her and just keeping an eye on her and she starts scratching and patting like she has a rash or something under her weave and it was obvious it was a weave. Maybe whoever did her hair didn't do it right or something but she was SCRATCHING and PATTINGGGGG. So long story short after a couple minutes my mom just asked for a refund. So, Cashier Lady, opened the window and my mom explained why she wants a refund. Cashier Lady says, "She wasn't SCRATCHING she was PATTING". You must not have seen her when she WAS scratching...and either way I don't want someone fixing my food and they're all over the food scratching...or PATTING...their hair. And everytime my mom said another sentence she rolled her eyes, pouted her lips more, and said "okay....okay..." So while she was getting the manager she was yelling "SHE WANT A REFUND SHE SAID SHE WAS SCRATCHING HER HEAD." Then the scratcher start looking at us and you could see them two just talking in the back and making faces at us. And I heard the manager say to the scratcher "I told you to stop that." The manager was very understanding and caring and kindly gave us our refund. The other 2 girls were out of line and very disrespectful. Sadly we never got our food, but I wouldn't have wanted it anyway after that! So online I rate this place 1 star! I hope other people who go there get treated kindly, but I just wanted to alert whoever saw this, so thank you !
