Boooo I was craving a tart froyo on a hot summer day and I generally do love Chobani, so walking by I figured I'd drop in instead of going out of my way to some of the other nearby options. The frozen yogurt wasn't tart or refreshing at all and actually felt quite milky and heavy. It was more like ice cream. L0bought what i thought was a simple he healthy single yogurt and got a pile of junk, this was loaded with chemicals designed to make the consistency silky and creamy and caused gastric boating and headaches as well, why can't i just get what i bought it for, a single individual yogurt that i can consume for gut health? It contained guar gum and locust bean gum, 2 nasty additives that manufacturers add to the ingredient list for nothing more than making the texture more enticing when they want to sell a product based not in goodness but how it feels inside your mouth. I have been a fan of both La Colombe and Chobani coffee for a long time and when I heard there was a Chobani cafe in New York, I was super excited to visit. The shop is cozy and has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and polite. They have several Chobani products for sale in the freezer and you can see their menu displayed on the wall. They don't have a very wide range of coffee to choose from, but I suppose that's what the La Colombe next door is for. I ordered the Cold Brew coffee and the Lentil Soup, as well as a Bagel. The indoor seating only has two places; the table against the wall or the couch around the table. Luckily, we came at a not so busy time, and were able to snag the couch seating. Our food came very quickly and the soup was still steaming hot. The soup was probably my favorite part. It was creamy and delicious and I definitely recommend it. The bagel is crunchy and well toasted and the cream cheese reminds me of Greek yogurt. It's pretty sour and not like a store bought cream cheese. The coffee was pretty good, too. However, as I was deciding what to order while leaning on a chair next to the door, the lady working at the register asked me in a somewhat aggressive way to yield my seat to another client as I havent ordered yet and the seat is first come first serve. I have no problem giving away my seat but I'd appreciate if it was communicated with more respect. It was quite mean that the customer to whom I yielded the seat actually apologized on her behalf. The idea of a Chobani store was weird to me but after looking at the menu, I was more open to it. I ordered the chicken pita. The flavor was good, the portion okay but it was more than $15 for a 3/4 pita. The quality of the meat and veggies high but the chicken a bit dry. What bothered me was that the food came in a box to go but the pita got soggy and all the filling fell out.
