I love chocolate so I was so ready to be amazed. I ended up getting some food instead. The smoked salmon was overly smoked and chewy. I wasn't that impressed with my drink either. Service wasn't too friendly, maybe I came at a time where everyone was tired. But it felt awkward standing around waiting for my order. Thankfully I did take out. This place was definitely not the same place that I came to love back in 2015! SO much has changed, with it being in a different location and the menu nothing like it was back then. I am assuming because it is a partnership with the business next door, which I am hoping to try during my visit in the next few days. I went in for dinner, and the photos of the menu are NOTHING like what is available. The menu is available via their website you can see on Yelp. I ordered the Roasted Chicken Salad and had to grab one out of the cooler since they were out of ingredients to make me one. Not what I was expecting to eat, but it was a good salad nonetheless. I did have a 'drinking chocolate', small, for dessert, and that was still pretty good. It IS chocolate after all! :-) The ladies working behind the counter were very courteous and helpful. I was just really looking forward to what I remembered from my initial visit back in 2015. It's not the sit down order food at your table with all the yummy options, but more of a breakfast and lunch type of place with a limited menu. read more

While parking was a bit difficult to find, once we were able to grab a spout, we were impressed with the bright, open shop/restaurant that awaited us. Chocolates were well displayed at the entry, as well as a case a little farther back in the space. There were also baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee options. The staff seemed pleasant and were accommodating when we needed modifications to an order. We really enjoyed the Cuban sandwich, especially the bread, and we'd definitely order that again. Sadly, though, the chocolates were a bit of a mixed experience. Some of them (like the espresso truffle) were delicious, the texture and flavor perfect. Others (like the bacon caramel) were unpleasant to the palate. While I'm glad we stopped-in and decided to try an assortment of offerings, I was a bit disappointed with the chocolates (which was the main reason for our visit). Pro-Tio: Apparently there is more parking in the rear of the building. Pro-Tio 2: While there are premade sandwiches and salads in the cases, if you have dietary restrictions, the staff will make items to order for you. read more

Dear ChocMo, I fall.more in love with you every year! Gluten free crepes, yes please! Staff that is attentive to allergens and are super nice about it! Delicious specials like their current house-made blueberry lemonade - SO good. We can bring a group in just as easily as feeling comfortable at a table for one. Fill your own water. Camp at a bar top for laptops, enjoy a lounge with friends over well crafted coffees and sweet treats. And now I have to back to their crepes b/c they are delicious!!!! We have had mixed service over the years and lately the service just gets better and better. It feels like they have hit their stride in hiring! The macaroons are obviously not made in shop. They are commercially made and then brought in and dressed up a bit with icing. Very disappointing and outrageously expensive for what you get. So small, overly sweet, and the texture is nothing like the ones I had in France. Also, a staff member got upset with me when I tried to take a picture of the chocolate display. They have the waffles!! When I heard a few months ago that ChocMo and L'Atelier were partnering up, I initially wondered whether the waffles that used to be on the menu at the L'Atelier Three Tree Ln location would now be available at ChocMo. After waiting a few months, I visited ChocMo for breakfast today and was excited to see the menu had changed to incorporate the waffles. The new ChocMo menu has deftly merged the L'Atelier waffles with their existing crepes, plus they offer other light fare like sandwiches, salads, soups, and pastries. My husband and I shared the savory "avocado toast" waffle and the sweet lemon and berry Liege waffle. Both were perfectly executed. The staff is also very friendly and efficient. And we love the location, which is very spacious and right off 305. We can't wait to go back for breakfast again soon!! read more

We had chai and a hot chocolate. The chai was ok, but definitely not the star of the show. The hot chocolate was delicious and rich, as it was made with half and half (so we bought the smallest portion they serve). It wasn't too sweet, which would have been cloying. They offer a wide variety of alternative milks and were very aware/concerned over allergens and contamination. Next time, we'll actually try the chocolates and truffles. Everything appears made on-site; there's a large industrial kitchen in the background. Place has a good, trendy vibe that would feel at home right in a hip downtown. It's slick, without being uncomfortable or uninviting. There's couches and nice seating for you to enjoy. We'll be back to hang out, for sure. read more

Such a hidden gem! You'd think this was just a chocolate spot, but they have a great menu. Although there wasn't a vegetarian breakfast sandwich... they accommodated and made me one with lettuce, tomato and avocado. SO delicious. I loved the chocolate treat touch to the plate. Chocmo is indeed a favorite place in Poulsbo. I love the fruit-infused dark bark as well as the milk chocolate salted caramels. Beyond that I am not a person who eats, or even appreciates sweets, and only eat the two I mentioned on rare occassions. I know some folks that visit ChocMo for something called "drinking chocolate ". Not sure what it is, maybe hot chocolate beverage, but these folks are like junkies mainlining that stuff. The Food: Scores huge points. The burgers are so very good. The raise their own cows. I won't waste time or words here trying to describe how delicious the burgers are, just trust me. If you have not yet had a Burger at Chocmo, and obviously if you are not vegan or vegetarian, you need to simply go get one. They have weekend brunch menus, and always a wide array of salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, and such. The quality is there and the servings are ample. Service is generally good. I love Peter's story. He is the owner who had the vision a few years back while in high school. I think he must be around 28 years old now. What he had built as a business for his family to serve the community with great dining experiences is truly inspiring. And that he supports the community in philanthropic ways by donating to the local food bank is not only responsible but impactful in changing lives of some who are in need. This was such a cute spot if! My husband and I stumbled across this location by accident I HATE they they're not on a map because they really should be! They have a cute little set up with cafe and food on one side then the chocolate selection on the other and it looks so elegant! The staff was extremely kind and super helpful in recommending what we should get. We ended up getting the biscuits and gravy which was by far probably the best I've had and I'm a sucker for B&G at any breakfast spot. My husband got the breakfast bowl and loved how light the meal was. I had gotten a cold brew with cold foam and it was simply perfection. Not too bitter not too watery. Literally perfect. Husband had the house drip coffee black and trust me it didn't need any sweeteners it was great as is. We also shared a drinking chocolate and my goodness probably the BEST hot chocolate we've both tasted! We're not too big on sweet drinks but this was perfect! Not too sweet and we loved that it DID NOT taste artificial at all. So glad we found this spot we will definitely be returning! read more

This place seems like a well kept secret. Located in a tiny strip mall (for now, they will be opening in a brand new building a few blocks away soon), they crank out some great food in a space barely big enough for you and your friends. I stopped in here during a recent visit to town. I'm actually part of the design team for the new building and had to do a site visit during construction. Since it was lunch time, what better place to try than the current location? Like I said, it's a small place. I had to wait a couple minutes for a table, as the lunch crowd was just starting and every table was full. I ordered "Peter's Burger", because when in doubt, go with the owner's creation, right? I've gotten to know Peter over the course of the new project, so I'll take his advice on the burger. Besides, he had me at "Chipotle Mayo". I also ordered the Caesar Brussels Sprouts because I have a weak spot for well done Brussels and they are a great test of a joint's prowess. You either get them right, or everyone knows. The burger was great, very juicy, bold flavors. The mix of pepper Havarti, bacon and the Chipotle Mayo was spot on. Take Peter's advice and get this burger. The Brussels were really good. I love deep fried Brussels, and this dish was no exception. It's a bit hard to describe, but imagine a Caesar salad with deep fried Brussels instead of lettuce. That's what you've got here, and it was well worth it. I'd order both of these again and I highly recommend them both. I capped off my visit with some chocolates to go, because let's face it, that's what they are known for, right? But don't be fooled, this little chocolate shop is cranking out some serious gourmet food too. Well worth the visit. read more

First time there today, and was really impressed with the friendly service and atmosphere of the restaurant. The vibe I got was very hipsterish but also sophisticated. Good blend of decor, making it a nice quiet area for a place to work or study. I ordered a breakfast crepe and it was delicious as it looked. Chipotle sauce was drizzled on the inside with bacon, potatoes, cheese and (eggs?). I had an accompanying cup of 16oz of latte on the side and it was really good as well. The cafe el pepé which is a seasonal drink (maybe?) was also delicious! The table next to us had a sandwich and panini which both looked very scrumptious. Next time, I will have to try it! Finally got to stop by ChocMo to indulge! First off I love the architecture of the building and materials used. The structure is very pleasing to look at from the different woods and metals. It all seamlessly flows together. Here on a weekday. Ordered drinks from very friendly staff. Love the taste of the coffee! I was starting to wonder if they went to Columbia for the beans as we waited and waited and waited., holding the number tag I was given while the employees chatted and did other work obviously not related to the preparation of my two beverages in the non-busy store. It turns out the girl who was supposed to make the beverages missed our ticket so no one was working on our order!!! Upon discovering this, no apology was given, but the girl who screwed up said to another employee within ear shot of me, "I'm allowed to make mistakes once in a while." You're right, you are, that's why I didn't say anything rude to you for making me needlessly wait, I didn't roll my eyes or demand a refund. But to be so flippant and unapologetic about it is extremely poor form. read more

Nice cafe/deli. We ordered a breakfast crepe for our toddler. I ordered a roast beef panini that was absolutely delicious. Potato salad was fresh and with a hint of dill and other flavor I couldn't quite figure out. The wife ordered biscuits and gravy which looked very good and she enjoyed. I also got a snickerdoodle on my way out which was nice. Perfect hard soft but not crunchy. Not a family place but we were still welcomed. More of a place for homework or meetings. New Chocmo is not the old chocmo, with a full menu and full bar. If you want that, you can head upstairs to Crabtree. This Chocmo is more cafè oriented, with espresso drinks, crepes, etc. I like the open seating, with tables, bars, couches and the hipster playlist. I've been several times now, and at first I was off put but now I'm a believer. Ive ordered several items, but keep going back to the breakfast crepe with its spicy chipotle sauce. At $9, it's enough for 2 meals, or to split between 2 people. Pair it with a nitro cold brew and it's a good morning. read more
