This time I got items to go from their bakery case: blackberry lime tart, birthday cake, and some coffee cake. This place was really busy on a sunny summer afternoon. Service was great.

Great brand of pop. So smooth. Not over-carbonated. Marrionberry Crème soda was excellent!

So. Much. Food! The burgers that were ordered were like three stories high. My grilled meatloaf sandwich was delicious, but it was a good 5 1/2 inches in diameter and so thick that with everything else, I can only eat 1/4 of. Leftovers was a bit better than that I was able to eat a half a sandwich. I made a joke that it was my "side of beef" sandwich. My son-in-law's chicken sandwich was awesome and so was my wife's Katsu pork sandwich. I also had the passion fruit cheese cake. That was yummy! The employees, even though swamped, took care of us and are cheerful. The restaurant has a homey feel. We ate outside, though in the park next to it. They carried Bedford's brand of sodas, and they are awesome! The Marion Berry cream and the root beer was so good. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Holy cow what a find on our way to Victoria... we meant to get coffee in Kingston but missed and stopped here en route. I would eat here every day if I lived close - the coffee and pastries were divine (coffee cake + Ham & Cheese croissant). The folks are so friendly and the atmosphere cozy. We then made a special stop on the way home to have lunch - the turkey melt may have been the best I've ever had, and aim currently chewing the Reeces brownie. Stop here and thank me later

We drove out from Fox island after seeing a review on TikTok. We ordered the fried chicken sandwich and the shrimp Thai noodle salad. The sandwich was amazing! The chicken was perfectly cooked! The salad wasn't my favorite. But I can't wait to go back and try something else. We picked up some cookies and a peach cobbler for later. The peach cobbler was amazing!! We would drive back out just for that.

Wonderful food! The hash with the giant pieces of flavorful bacon was EXCELLENT. The breakfast burrito was also great. I had a white mocha with lemon zest, which was a game changer. I wish every coffee place served that combination. We sat outside on the very nice patio, which was surrounded by white picket fence and a gorgeous garden of flowers. It was a great experience.

This place has a little bit of everything! Their fried chicken sandwich is so scrumptious! The fried chicken is crispy and juice inside. We also got the chimichurri steak bowl...the veggies in this were so fresh! The steak and chimichurri had great flavors. For dessert, We got the pistachio cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate pudding to go. And yummmmmmm!! I've never had a pistachio cheesecake so I was so excited about this...the pistachio flavor was subtle but just enough. The cheesecake itself was so creamy and fluffy at the same time! Chocolate pudding....yummm; strawberry shortcake...yummmmm. Everything was delicious. A must when you're in Port Gamble. It's cute, rustic yet modern inside. Although, i wish there were more seating. I feel like the space can be utilized more efficiently. There is seating outside, which we sat at. It was pouring rain and cold, so I also wish there were heaters. Overall, great experience! I'd come back to try more things!!

This place might be a bit overrated. Yes the fried chicken sandwich was good 4/5, but the turkey on focaccia bread was average 3/5, lemon bar 3/5, and chocolate pudding 3.5/5. The outdoor seating offered very little sun relief. Inside was better. However, not a big place. The person taking our order was disinterested.

Don't skip this place! The food is top quality, delicious and fresh. Service was quick and friendly. The seating is minimal but there are additional tables outside. Not only is there a wonderful menu that changes every 6 weeks, they sell meat by the pound, cheeses and olives and have a variety of beautiful bakery items. For drinks they sell beer, wine and specialty non alcoholic beverages.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting Port Gamble. Love that the building is a converted old service station built in 1920. There is a walk-up coffee bar and restaurant. There are a few tables inside and picnic tables outside. The restroom is outside by the picnic tables. You order at the counter, given a beeper, then go retrieve your food. You're asked to bus your own table as well. This process ran smoothly and timely. We ordered their popular crispy chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and a piece of their raspberry cheesecake. The sandwich came with kettle chips or salad, or you could upgrade to potato salad. We opted for the kettle chips. The sandwich was good. Chicken cooked perfectly, and homemade pickles were good. I'm not sure what was missing, but it was surprisingly lacking flavor. Maybe in the batter or pimento cheese?! We're not sure. It was good, though. We would probably try something else next time. Their menu had many items that sounded good. Now, the raspberry cheesecake was a totally different story. It was absolutely delicious! We would would definitely order that again. Many of their baked items looked tempting. Overall, we had a satisfying first experience. We will definitely come back and try other offerings. Highly recommend.

First time visiting today and the place was clean. The counters were very organized and items were displayed nicely and it was very inviting. I like the self service option to order at the counter, find a table and bring back your tray when you're done. It was fairly busy, but Hannah took her time to explain to me at our table what items are popular on the menu and what she recommended. She made us feel very comfortable and made this experience amazing. We ordered the chimicuri steak with grilled veggies, ricotta eggs with toast bacon and fingerling potatoes. We also couldn't leave without bringing home chocolate croissant, chocolate chip cookies, pistachio cheesecake and pecan brownies. 9/10 would recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. Everything was delicious and we would definitely be back.

Yummy! Shocked to find someplace with such a variety and consistently good food. Prices are what you'd expect in a small town with limited resources.

Amazing sandwiches We split two of the options as too many looked delicious. We had the Fried chicken and Ursula Major !! Then afterwards went in and bought some dessert and breakfast for tomorrow.

Such a nice surprise- not your standard roadside bakery foods (that and much more). Definitely worth the pull over.

Is this related to The Butcher and Baker that closed on near 65th/Latona, close to Green Lake in Seattle?

No, they are not related in any way I know. Butcher and Baker Provisions in Port Gamble is a team: Chef Adam Sawasy (Butcher) and Chef Patricia Horton (Baker). You can learn a little more from their web-site. According to the Seattle Times…

First their baked goods are stodgy and not properly executed. Their shortbread tastes like cardboard and is nothing like English shortbread should be. No good butter in evidence here. Their koign amman is not even crisp on the outside. There is something off with each baked item. If you enjoy dump and go style baking that don't require any refinement but are full of American sugar, I think you will feel this is an elite bakery. Otherwise, this is a bad knock off attempt. Scones seem to be chewy and tasteless. I got a "lemon poppyseed" polenta cake where there was no lemon-y flavor at all! It was also heavy and couldn't handle more than 3 bites at a time. Stuck in the gullet. Second their service is appalling. The people behind the counter are all in on some inside ball game and customer service is not their emphasis. They are looking away while half-heartedly asking you what you would like, and more interested in serving up verbal repartees to their co-workers while distractedly trying to complete a sale. You can expect to repeat your order a few times. Then there's the off-handed use of bakery tissue which is not quite neat and hygienic. I mean it's a shambolic operation that gets away with it because there is no competition in Kingston unless you take the ferry across to Edmonds.

Super aesthetic coffee shop, with the Dining room in an old A-Frame. The staff were also amazing,…read moresuper friendly, and they were even experimenting with different drinks, so they were walking around with various samples to get everyone's opinions. Food was phenomenal too. I had the carnivore plate, but the rest of the table got the croissant breakfast sandwich; which looked amazing. But the carnivore plate was huge, 3 egg scramble with various types of meat including bacon and sausage on top of a bed of hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were that perfect consistency of crispy but still flaky in the middle. My only note was the guac? it did have a sort of weird/unusual after taste. I'm not sure if it was the seasoning they used or if the avocadoes were a little older? but other than that it was perfect.

We eat a lot of avo toast and have come to expect it is often overpriced, but this was an exceptional rip off and not at all enjoyable. One thin piece of bread, invisible layer of the supposed sun dried tomato spread. The avocado might have been the store bought prepackaged mashed avo guac. If that wasn't actually it, it definitely tasted like that. Then two small cherry tomatoes and some seeds on top. They didn't serve the toast with the sea salt or olive oil as stated on the menu - when we asked about the toppings (because it tasted super bland), it was a very rude and dismissive response: "the tomato spread is on there. It's really thin. And - so what, you want some olive oil and salt!!??". Like we were so out of line for wanting what it said the toast came with....this was also $15 avo toast. You can make it way better at home for $4. While the other food and the space were good, this overshadowed as a bummer experience that would make us think twice before returning.
