We decided to go to Chocolate Fest on a whim and were super glad we did. Gelato, brownies, cannoli, and chocolate confections of every kind. My favorite was Neo Cocoa with a chocolate orange-anise that was amazing!

Great annual event! My favorites are the classical It's It ice cream sandwiches and the A-Lot-A pumpkin gelato. Friendly volunteer staff. Nice jazz combo.

I've never anything like this and it was so delicious! It wasn't heavy or overly sweet. You can definitely taste the rose and they didn't go cheap with the pistachios either! There were pistachios in each bite. The cake was moist and light/fluffy. Baklavas are to die for here!! I love all the different pastries they had. They had everything from cookies, baklavas, and cakes! It makes such a nice gift! I had them make me a box for my doctor's office which they handpicked all dozen treats. It all looks sooooo good! The staff were so nice and helpful! The guy took the time to explain the pastries and even recommended the popular pastries. They know their menu so well! You can also get a whole cakes here if you wanted! My husband like the latte here as well! Very smooth! Ambiance is nice! Pretty spacious and very nicely maintained especially being its location in middle of their downtown area! Thanks for having such awesome staff and providing amazing customer service! Wish we had this in Vegas!

Perhaps a bit on the fancier side, but it's a pleasant place to go for some coffee and a dessert. All of the desserts are beautiful and imaginative spins on classics with a middle eastern twist. Baklava Cheesecake: Such a pretty little packet. This is a bit contradictory, but the cream cheese filling is a little too sweet and dense and the outside should be a little more sweet, perhaps with syrup like on a traditional baklava. I missed that stickiness and moisture on the flaky exterior. But overall, it was fun to eat. Sweet Cheese Rolls: These were pretty good and quite creamy inside. Halawet el jibn is traditionally served with pistachio and rose syrup. These are hard to come by in the Bay and kind of expensive here, but tasty.

When you walk in, there is always someone there to greet you and inform you of the new crepe cakes available and what they have in stock. So far, I've tried the Hokkaido Milk Crepe Cake, the Matcha Crepe Cake, Tiramisu Crepe Cake, the Pistachio Crepe Cake, the matcha tart and the mango panna cotta. My favorites are the Hokkaido Milk Crepe Cake and the Pistachio Crepe Cake. All of the cakes are not too sweet and have great balance. It's so good that you don't even realize that it's done. If you're feeling adventurous, give the Panna Cotta a try. It won't disappoint! Overall, one of the best crepe cakes I've had on the West Coast.

Pickup was at the San Mateo location, which is right by the caltrain station. Its a super small storefront for carryout only. They have a kitchen but most of the cakes are made at other locations and brought over for pickup. Unfortunately we were not super impressed by the biscoff crepe cake. While the design was cute and the crepes were thin, there wasnt enough biscoff creme (only about 1 layer for every 4-5 layers of plain vanilla creme) for the flavor to really come through. For a special holiday flavor like this, we expected a stronger biscoff flavor. If theres a special again, we'd be willing to give another flavor a try!

When we walked in, the interior was very cute with the pink walls. There's a kiosk where we can order. I wish there were more ice cream flavors. There were just vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and the seasonal flavor which was like toffee and espresso. The seasonal flavor was really good and creamy, and it made me feel a bit more awake during my afternoon slump. I got the white macadamia nut cookie which came out warm, soft, and chewy. We didn't really interact with the worker, but the sweet treat was amazing. I would definitely come back during the work week for another cookie and ice cream sweet treat!

The owner Sara looks at us with this nasty entitled look and shrugs. Ok you just lost sales from four curious customers who were trying to get dessert and cookies after our dinner. I dont even yelp but this incident was so off putting... After looking at all the reviews its clear to see it isnt the other employees fault its the owner Saras' fault for her empty store and failing business with her nasty entitled customer service for over 5+ years she still hasnt changed.. GET A CLUE LADY, customer service is just as important as the product. Do u think people want to feel uncomfortable going into a business wondering if the service is gonna be good or crappy today. Thats probably why she, the owner, is so crabby all the time shes run her business into the ground with her attitude and most of foster city knows of her bitter demeanor by now! As someone who lives in FC in this small city ive never heard a good word about this place and we all tend to talk about food establishments, the good ones, and which ones to try in our small city. Amazing this place is even still in business now that i see all the negative reviews, her edited responses and damage control from the owner. Too late damage been done apparently.. Didnt even make it through the door and this is my impression like all the others who actually did enter that domain lol.. avoid

Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5…read moreValue: 5/5 With ice cream options on nearly every block downtown, Buena's has some stiff competition. That said, this woman-owned business is worth a visit for many reasons. -Generous & kind staff: When we arrived, only one employee was working. He was cleaning the back, but stopped as soon as he saw us and approached us with a genuine smile. We wanted to try a couple of flavors, so th nice guy offered to stack them for us (no swirl option). My husband got rainbow sprinkles, and I got granola topping (you get one for free). Unlike other places, he wasn't stingy, making sure that the surface was completely covered. It's hard with granola, so I told him that it was good. But I trully appreciate his generosity. -Authentic flavors: I got the guava and black sesame, and neither tasted artificial. The black sesame, which can easily trend toward peanut flavor, was legit. My picky husband was swooning over his Ghirardelli chocolate, saying it was one of the best he's ever had. -Exceptional texture: Flawlessly creamy without any chunks or ice crystals. Trully a delight. -Less sugar: The ice cream was just sweet enough to satisfy the cravings but without causing a sugar high. AZN and European palettes, who don't overload their desserts with sugar, will especially appreciate it. I would imagine it's also a better option for kids. -Cutest waffle cups: The cones remind me of upside-down Brugmansia flowers. There is no hard crunch, and it softens yet remains stable as it absorbs the ice cream. It's different, and I really liked it. I highly recommend trying this place.
