Used to have fresh fish of all varieties laid out and you picked your fillets for the owners to cook. Not sure if ownership changed but may have by now. No frills at all but clean. Love this place. When I want fried fish I drive from Owings Mills to here just to get my fix. Food is awesome. I've been coming here since I was a child. This is strictly a carry out location. There is one bench in the wating area so most folks wait outside in their car after placing the order. If you call in your order it will likely not be done or even in the process of being prepared when you arrive. They only take cash and phone orders are not completed ahead of arrival. You can get cash from Walgreens across the street or PNC bank which is also across the street. Parking is a complete challenge as the parking lot is very small and often folks park on the side of the building or come in off of the side street which is parallel to Rogers Avenue. Good fish poor service. I asked for no fries and I wanted coleslaw the lady said no switch I said I was going to pay and didn't want to switch. When I paid I said to her you didn't charge me for the coleslaw. I don't know if there was a language barrier. You do business in our area and you are really nasty. The man is quiet but he's not nasty. I refuse to patronize a business that has poor customer service. I've been going there for years and that was my first bad experience. This fish market/carry out is a quiet little spot in the Hill Top area. I have been getting fish from this spot since the early 2000s, always pleased with my food. The people who work here are courteous, and the service was on point. The steak fish I ordered was about $19 a pound. I did not know that because I called my order in. When I got there and found out I was a little bothered, but the fish was HUGE, so it kinda made up for the price. Lesson learned tho!!! read more

Today was my first visit to this place! I've been trying to get here for almost a year! I've heard from different people from different walks how good their fish is! I heard that you could pick out your fish, and then they'll take it in the back and cook it. That is no longer true! I walked in and saw some seafood on the ice, not sure what it was! Read the menu to the left of me, ordered my lake trout, and he gave it to me within 30 seconds! The fish is absolutely delicious! Wasn't hot, but it was warm. The place is kind of cold... Actually it's freezing & the decor is just as cold as the temperature! No tables or chairs to sit and stay, no Decor on the walls, just straight counter space and business. The gentleman that helped me was very nice and professional and I will return! That's all I got... No bells or whistles... Just good old fish! The lake trout isn't Lake trout, I ordered a large lake trout last week when I got there less than 10 minutes later it was ready. I got home and realized it was whiting. So I thought maybe they gave me the wrong order. I went back today and ordered the same thing and of course the same thing. They are passing off whiting or swai as lake trout. Not seasoned. Choi has the best fried lake trout in town. They also have other types of fresh fish for customers to pick from any they will fry it for you or you can take home to prepare yourself. It's not the best looking spot but your taste buds will not be let down! Staff is friendly and they also sell fried crab sticks, French fries, scallops and more.
