We changed from one hospice provider who was not good at communicating after checking on Dad, to…read moreGood Shepherd. I wish we never would have changed. Good Shepherd is worse at communicating and even more terrible at responding. Dad's catheter was "backed up" for days. The nurse removed it altogether because she didn't have the right parts. Now Dad is uncomfortable and wet due to his incontinence and he doesn't want anyone to put a catheter back in. Because of his catheter being blocked for days and his confusion and agitation, we believe he has a UTI. We were told by the people answering the phone at the main number that it will take days to get his urine checked. We requested an antibiotic and some pain medication because Dad says he aches all over. Nope. We need a doctor's order. Again, lets just wait. I thought the main goal for a Hospice service was to keep the patients comfortable? Maybe they should think about changing their name... Update: I just spoke to Brandi Cooper who is AWESOME! If everyone was this thorough and communicated this well at Good Shepherd I couldn't recommend them enough. Hopefully, she was able to get everything between my Dad and Good Shepherd unstuck. I live 200 miles away from where my Mom was and they communicated with me on a regular basis and I was able to visit her a couple more times before she passed. Good Shepherd was vital in assisting her with pain control in spite of the nursing home not being prepared with her pain medication when she arrived there. I feel like they really cared about her and her well-being. I cannot say enough good things about all of the people who cared for her during this time and what a tremendous lifeline they were for me and my family. But, once the office manager showed up unannounced and things quickly changed. She took control of his checkbook. Made herself in control. Care became bad, he complained many times his provider brought her kids and boyfriend who drank beer on premises. My friend had 15k, 9 months ago, and now less than 3k and Around the clock home are in control of his remaining money. Now he has died and they continue to control his checkbook leaving nothing for his funeral expenses and final bills. His Mailbox shows his utilities haven't been paid in months and the electric cut off. It's really sad that people will take advantage of the old, lonely and impaired and advantage of his situation. I would never have signed him up with this group had I known. I hope he forgives me. Beware......

I could not have asked for a more caring and compassionate experience. Belfair brought Hospice in and they joined alongside them in caring for Mom. Dad loves the chef at Belfair and they provide a balanced, diabetic meal plan for him. The facilities are beautiful and the activities and outings are appropriate for the residents. I love that the center is small enough to know all of the staff's names! I live three hours away now, but am fully confident Dad is getting great care.

Kindful Hospice was amazing!!! I would give it 100 stars if I could! The emotions of losing a loved…read moreone is never easy, but we received the best support from so many of their wonderful staff. Laurie met us in the hospital and explained the services that Hospice offers. She was warm, professional and listened to our needs. Within hours a crew was at the house to set up everything we would need. The on-call RN Mike was outstanding. He provided clear plans, and education on what to expect though this process, which took the fear out of subtle changes our loved one went through and empowered us to help care for him. Mike helped us plan a medication schedule that significantly reduced his suffering. Sherri the Chaplain was with us during some very difficult times and helped us all through it with such grace and kindness. We could not have asked for a more beautiful experience of being surrounded by family and love during his final hours. We are so grateful for Kindful Hospice!
