Horrible customer service. Extreme disrespect and avid whining from employees. Employees will tell you that you are an inconvenience. Little boy who works there with a beanie started pouting and attempting to fish an apology since I payed with cash (a legal currency) and dished out profanity as well to demonstrate how badly my paying in cash ruined his night. The team members here really need to grow the hell up. Beyond the attitude of the members here, the service itself is just terrible and inconsistent. If you care about the wellbeing and health of your pets, avoid this place. The employees advertise products that are not useful and oftentimes just dangerous (plastic products for rodents, hamster balls, etc...) Seriously?! Shameful and pathetic store... Don't waste your money here. Natural pet outlet has waaaay more products, and a clean store. Choice pet looks like every dog in town came in to take a crap on the floor. (Your dog will probably get parvo here.) Any fish or birds,small creatures ect. you buy will probably be sick , and upper management couldn't care less as long as you're lining their pockets. Very disappointed in the store. We took 2 of our large dogs there to use the facilities to bathe them. No one had any idea what was going on. We started to wash them and there wasn't any shampoo. The bottles they had there were empty. When I went up from to ask for shampoo they had no idea where it was. They said they didn't have any. I said it's a pet store how do you not have shampoo. They didn't have an answer for me. As I went back to the dogs to get ready to leave while they were wet the young man came over and said he found some. We did the best we could. It was dirty. There was hair everywhere. The brushes were disgusting-not that I would use them. We bring our own brushes. The towels smelled like smoke. I would not recommend this particular store to anyone. We have been to the one in Fairfield and it was beautiful. Clean, full of supplies and even had treats for the dogs in the bathing area. read more

Two. Stars. Two. And they're only getting two, because the people working there are nice. I go here for emergencies only. Everyone is very nice, but it's CRAZY how expensive they are. Their prices are consistently $5-$7 higher (sometimes more) for the same products other local pet stores offer. My dogs love Tuffy Toys, and they can be found at Petco for $15-$20, on Chewy for the same price and even Tractor Supply (when they have them) is around there. Choice Pet is selling them for $26-$28. We buy Purina Savor 34lb bags of dog food. At Tractor Supply, Petco and on Chewy you can find these bags for somewhere around $45-$48, but at Choice Pet it's $58.99. It's really just out of control. Those are just some of the examples off the top of my head. There's no reason for it. I would understand if they were specializing in, say, just raw food or strictly organic products - but they're not. So, what's the deal with the outrageous pricing? I couldn't even say. previous employee- I was nothing but absolutely singled out for every little mistake I made even after continuously telling them that I have a disability. Got terminated for my probation period being extended due to calling out on a sunday for a migraine and not having a doctors note and the countless times I was written up for being on my phone when everyone else was on there phone. I was terminated over the phone not even in person which in my opinion is completely unprofessional especially how the call had went. Not to mention how they told us to stop paying attention/ nurturing to the animals after one had a vet visit for unfortunate accident. They never excepted any of my time off requests even if it was 2 weeks or more ahead. You could not take more than a 20 minute break even working a 10+ hour shift which was constantly interrupted to still help customers. I was terminated for a silly reason when they have someone working for their company who straight up stole from them and didn't fire them. They target people for having disabilities and fire them for stupid reasons telling them "we aren't fit for the role". I would also like to say this it is one of the most terrible places I have ever worked at and would not recommend it to anyone. They treat all their employees like shit. I would never support this "small business" ever again. read more

By chance, we bought fish from this store because it was conveniently next to Big Y. We just wanted to add a couple of fish to our fish tank. First we bought 3 fish and one of them died by the time we got home. We returned it and we got another tetra, a pleco and another small fish. Our tank seemed fine for a couple of days and last night to our horror most our fish were dead. The two left alive have some kind of fungus decease. We've had our healthy fish and tank for years and we are so upset that our beloved fishies died because this store doesn't care for their fish and will sell you deceased animals! NEVER AGAIN BUYING FROM THIS STORE AND FISH FROM ANY PET SUPPLY STORE! read more

Kind of disappointed. I left a google review telling them to take out gravel in the tank which they somewhat did but still has some left in the tank. I complained about how dirty the tank is because axolotls can get fungus from poor quality water but it's just as bad as the first time maybe even worse. PLEASE just clean your tank it's not that hard especially if you dont want to lose money from your animals dying from bad water quality. read more

Have been going to this store for several years. Store is clean, organized and staff has always been helpful. They have a nice broad selection of foods for middle to high end foods. Recently returned to this particular store because there was an issue with some food I bought at one of their other locations. I have to say the corporate headquarters and the staff at this store handled this issue with great customer service and have more than made up for the issue. read more
