We didn't notice about their soft serve until last weekend when we saw the luring poster about the limited time promo: $1.49 for a 4 oz cup (reg. $4.99) ! Who could refuse?! We each got individual cup of ube and matcha flavored soft serve, respectively. We came back the next day, and went for the ube + matcha mix swirl. So tempting for more! Considering we had spent $9 + tax before at Matcha Cafe Maiko for a cone before, this sweet deal deserves an extra star as a thank you from me. The sauce that was served was absolutely delicious with the signature tanginess and sweetness of Thai food. The hot pot that I ordered was also enjoyed to the fullest! The food here was super good but also I love liver so I was glad they had a hot pot option that included that! After a delicious meal, we finished off with the mango bingsu which also was a huge hit! The bingsu was super fluffy and light! This meal was definitely worth it and didn't leave me feeling super heavy. The service was also great even though they were always full house with some parties waiting and only one person serving. I will be back next time to try their Thai barbecue which I saw people having and I could stop looking at! On top of all this, the server or manager even gave me a free Melona ice cream which I paired with the bingsoo after he saw that I was pregnant which I thought was super sweet. I don't live too far from here so I also want to add that even though I have not added a review, I always go to this restaurant to grab a coconut Thai milk tea to go (I am not even a huge Thai tea fan)! My husband heard the whole conversation and it bothered him at the moment led him to feel unwelcome, but I told my husband that I don't care what they think so we can enjoy our meal. The overall atmosphere was rather strange for an all-you-can-eat buffet. The total bill for two adults came to ~$74 We ordered two sets of pendant bread () for takeout, and we left a $10 cash tip on the table. Almost immediately after placing the cash down, the waitress approached and asked if it was a TIP making a VISIBLY DISPLEASED expression before walking away. As we were leaving, I was confronted by the owner or head manager (me and him spoke Thai) inquired what was wrong with the service. He stated that the waitress had complained about the TIP amount less than 10%. We explained that we had not included the approximately $30 takeout order in our tip calculation, especially considering it was a buffet restaurant. A quick calculation would have shown that the $10 TIP represented roughly 15% on the dining portion alone, and the waitress's primary contribution during our visit was simply providing water and choice of 'appetizers'. I gave them 5 stars on google and yelp 6 years ago (going to delete it) I have always recommended this place to my boss and colleagues from NY, NJ to PA But I will have to retract my recommendation to them after this. I REPEAT 'DO NOT COME HERE' We will NOT be returning. The food was fairly priced for the portions and was cooked to order. I did wish that my fish dish was on the crispier side but it was very flavorful and pungent.
