This one good Mexican food place where they serve chips and salsa first and then asks what you would like to order and that's how it should be. I had the fish tacos recently and it great. The fish was grilled well and seemed fresh. My co workers got the tamale lunch, taco lunch, quesadilla and I did not hear anything but praise from them. The serving staff made sure that we were good and my co workers who visit this place regularly have told me that the servers haven't messed up any of their orders o far. They also have outdoor seating available and the employees are wearing masks. The prices are very low for the quality of food. I have lived in Shelby county for over 25 years and this place is my favorite go to for excellent food. They remodeled a few years ago and it looks great. The servers recognize us as we are regulars, at least once a week. I ordered the molcajete because I've had this fish in other Mexican restaurant and enjoy it very much. However this location served mine with raw green bell peppers instead of grilled. It usually has beef, chicken, chorizo, and shrimp. I didn't find any chicken in mine and only had 3 shrimp. The decorative bowl it was served in was half full of grease, it was really bad for me that I didn't eat all of it from the taste. After effect I spent the next day close to or on the toilet from diarrhea even after taking several Imodium. Minor stomach cramps and intestinal cramps. I have a vision impairment and this made me extremely happy! The food was authentic Mexican. It was absolutely delicious not anything like the American version we try to pass off as Mexican. Yummy! My husband and I both loved it! I got the chicken fajitas and they were great! Flavorful and not dry like other places I've experienced. They accommodated my special request (Avacado slices instead of guac). Their refried beans were creamy and flavorful instead of a chalky glob. My husband got some sort of steak dish. When the waiter informed him that they were out of that particular cut of steak, he made the suggestion that he could offer the dish, but sub a different cut. Very good authentic Mexican food, prepared quickly, and tastes great. Service is hot or miss, sometimes you get drinks refilled and bill when ready to go, other times drink refills, salsa and chip refills, and bringing the bill, are very slow. I have had to just get up and go to the cash register and wait for someone to to come then have them find our server and get the bill, as we would get tired of waiting and had other things to do. Then sometimes the servers are on it and drinks are refilled and everything as it should be. The food arrives very fast, barely time to eat the chips and salsa, and tastes very good. Went to Cholula's tonight with my family and I must say I was very impressed. I had the shrimp fajitas and they were absolutely perfect. The onions and green peppers were cooked and seasoned just right with a bit of crunch still in them. The medium-sized shrimp were charred just to the taste and were tender and juicy. My plate of sides and tortillas was steaming hot and very adequate to prepare four really big shrimp tortillas....yumm. As I write this I'm in pain as I'm so full of all this great food!! First time ordering/eating here and placed an order 'to go'. I placed an order to them using their online menu for #18 combination dinner. Price on their website says $7.75 for that menu item. I went to pick up the food and they wanted $10.80. I showed the cashier their own price on the online menu but he refused to give it to me for THEIR price online. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he would be back in 10 minutes.....so....I waited. About 10 minutes later the cashier tells me the manager is not coming in today (on a Friday evening, really? No manager?).....so I paid the price of $10.80 because I was hungry and by then I did not feel like going elsewhere. This is NOT the way to treat a customer. As with anywhere one shops....if the price listed on the item is different than the actual store price...the customer ALWAYS gets the posted price on the item. Last night's supper was an unmitigated failure. It started with us entering the restaurant while an argument was happening between staff and a customer . After being seated, we didn't receive our drinks until I asked for them again. After we ordered food, we were left sitting and ignored. When the food came out, my plate was first followed by the other food ten minutes later. Leaving me to eat while my guest watched, something I couldn't do. Cholula was probably the best Mexican Restaurant I've been to in quite some time. I'm a Mexican frequenter, and found the food exceptional, the staff and service as well. I had chicken tacos and a nacho with pork and beef, the chicken was stand out GOOD. They accommodated my picky child by doing a grilled chicken plate off-menu. My kid's chicken was stellar as I swiped some. I've ate at fine dinning restaurants that didn't have this tasty of food, let alone the chicken. My boyfriend ordered shredded chicken burritos, and I ordered a beef chimichanga, mine was pretty plain it didn't have much flavor to it.
