We have always loved El Mason. Delicious food. Decent prices. Adult beverages. And we like the patio.

We ate here to different times and had great service both times. The food was good, price is average.

Average flavor on the fajitas but beans were bland. It's very hard to find a Mexican restaurant that actually seasons their sides.

The air itself shimmered with the scent of roasted peppers and slow-simmered adobo, as if the souls of flavor had risen to bless this humble establishment. The chips arrived -- golden, audaciously crisp -- and the salsa... my word, the salsa! It danced upon my tongue like a mariachi serenade at sunset. Each bite was an ode to freshness, a love letter written in cilantro and lime. Then came the burritos -- big fat beauties, wrapped in warm flour tortillas that felt as though they had been hand-crafted by the angels themself. The chicken was tender enough to make a grown man question the meaning of existence; the potato fries, smoky and transcendent, whispered secrets of ancient kitchens long forgotten by time. The service? Flawless. The staff glided between tables with the grace of seasoned diplomats and the warmth of lifelong friends. In short: this restaurant doesn't just serve food -- it serves an experience, a revelation, a rebirth of the senses. If I could give it six stars, I would. If I could move in, I might.

Place was clean on the inside. Order at the counter, and seat yourself. I had the birria tacos, and a side of rice. The birria and sauce was phenomenal. The rice was plain white rice, which was kinda surprising to me as I was expecting the yellow rice, but oh well. Can't wait to return to try some more items on the menu.

If you want Tex mex or arroz con pollo, do not come here as you will not find it here. This is as authentic as it gets and honestly everything we had was fantastic. It definitely is a hole in the wall type of joint so nothing fancy on the inside. We were amazed at the amount of variety they had to offer. The owners were very nice and accommodating. We got recommend to try out the Tlayudas which are essentially large thin and crunchy tortillas filled with whatever meat, beans, cheese, and cabbage. I got the asada and my sister got the chorizo. They were so tasty and honestly huge. One Tlayuda is probably good for two to be honest but I powered through one myself. My dad ordered some tacos, one Al pastor, tripe, and suadero. He thought they were very good. It's nice to know that there's something like this in Shelbyville as there seems to be an abundance of Tex mex style food here. Will come back and try some other offerings from their menu.

It was delicious, and we've eaten there a few times since and always have a great experience. We both have been wanting to try some of their lunch specials, but we work and can't get there to check it out. We were off today and decided to go there for lunch because they were having chicken and noodles, and that's one of my favorite meals. It did not disappoint at all. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed our meals and even ordered seconds to go, so we could have it for dinner. The chicken and noodles came with mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and a roll. You could definitely tell the food was homemade too. Delicious! The Farmhouse Diner isn't a very big restaurant and can get pretty busy. It reminds me of a little country diner where all the local farmers and their wives go to eat breakfast and lunch. The staff is always super friendly and attentive too. We will definitely be going back.
