Kids love the lazy river, small kid areas, even the wave pool with huge tv works for us. Is it glitzy? Hell nah, would I pay full price, absolutely not... but with my union discount, it works for us. You're unable to bring in food, but you're able to come and go as you please. Pack some food and snacks in the car, and you're set for the day. With younger kids, your options are limited, but over 42 inches, opens your child to many more speed rides. Spent last Father's Day there and the kids had a blast. There are also lockers, snacks and cabanas for rent, but we are not in that tax bracket.

There are two toddler-friendly areas with small slides and splash zones. Alison they have a lazy river, and a wave pool that became my son's absolute favorite. There are plenty of lifeguards around. They look very young but I liked the amount of them. My kiddo was happily exhausted afterward and slept amazingly that night (and even the day after). Few tips. If you plan to visit more than once, the pass with parking is absolutely worth it because parking is more than $20. Do not underestimate the sun. I thought I am good but ended up with a sunburn. The food options are pretty average and overpriced ($18 for average hot dog and fries), and the park isn't spotless all the time. Overall, such a fun surprise. We will definitely be back.

The park now feels more focused on education, conservation, and treating the animals with respect. Many of the animals are older or rescues, and I commend the staff for allowing them to interact naturally rather than forcing them to perform. The park was quiet during our visit, which made for a relaxing experience, but I hope they find new ways to attract families without relying on the animals. A splash park or Hawaiian cultural activities could add to the experience while staying true to their mission. As a kamaʻāina, admission was $25 per person. Some may feel that's expensive for a smaller park, but I left feeling like my ticket was supporting a worthwhile cause. In fact, knowing what I know now, I would have gladly purchased the $55 annual family pass just to help support the park and the animals in its care.

I believe it would still be a good option for families with small children. We recently went back with just ourselves. We both remembered it being MUCH larger but we weren't surprised since memory can be tricky. We loved seeing all the lovely sea creatures but the park itself is tired and a bit lackluster. The food was actually more delicious than I was expecting but incredibly expensive. Considering how tired and small the park actually is, the price was WAY too high. It cost the two of us $119.54 and we had seen every exhibit in just an hour...I would only suggest Sea Life Park to families with little children.

Other tip would be to bring CLEAR refillable water bottles because their website does not have updated information; security informed me I wouldn't be able to bring in my Owala, despite it being empty. I recently saw Gryffin and subtronics and the production for both shows was amazing. It surrounded by these big rocks that they put projections on, and the whole sound and visual effects are so cool. They even do sets right at the wave pool, so you can be floating and listening to music! I did not go in the wave pool, but it looked like fun. During these shows, they even have some of the waterslides going. With tons of staff and lifeguards, of course. I will say that parking is so expensive at around $40 per car and if you don't leave before the crowds leave after the last set, expect to be sitting in your car for an hour before getting out of the parking lot. Security is pretty tight too. All bags are checked, metal detectors, and if you're wearing boots- you'll have to take them off and shake them out before entering. For the subtronics show, we got our tickets off of stubhub and when they scanned it- it showed that our tickets were scanned an hour ago. So, we had to buy tickets on the spot and then report it to stubhub. Not their fault, but a warning to everyone else. Glad that we were able to still buy tickers there, but beware and get tickets directly from their website.
