These guys are great! My son LOVES to ride the train. Every time we go to the mall he begs us to ride it. I think its $5 for kids and the adults are a little more, but sometimes they run specials where the parents ride free before a certain time. The cars are big enough to fit me, my husband, and the little one inside comfortably. But what makes it awesome is the people. Theres a guy that has been there since they first opened who clearly loves his job or at least takes a lot of pride in it, and is super awesome with kids. He gets them to engage and laugh and make the experience that much better. And he rocks really cool kicks with the Toy Story aliens on them. The little train has some good pull and an even better turning radius. It's pretty surprising actually. Even though the space in the mall that the train runs isn't that long, they make great use of the space and do a lot of fun turns. After the ride, they have recently started giving out lollipops to the kids so that's cool. Even though when all three of us have to pay for the ride it's a little expensive, its still worth it to see the joy in my sons face. I'll definitely be back soon.

Ride is too short for the price you pay. Train station is always moving around so you gotta look hard to find it

Magical Train Ride Adventure!…read more We absolutely loved our experience on the historic Hawaiian Railway -- such a unique and beautiful way to explore Oahu's west side! From start to finish it was pure aloha vibes and family fun! Prices: Standard train ride tickets were around $18 for adults and $13 for kids (ages 2-12) (kids under 2 are free!), and we felt it was worth every penny for the experience and memories! Parking & Arrival: There's plenty of free parking right at the train station, which made arriving super easy and stress-free. We got there a little early to soak in the atmosphere before departure! Hours & Tour Times: The train runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with departures like 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, plus a couple of other times depending on the day -- perfect for planning your afternoon. Length & Route: The whole ride is about 90 minutes round-trip, slowly chugging through scenic parts of Oahu's Leeward coast with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. The narration from the guide made the ride even more interesting! Stops & Fun: One of the best parts was the ice cream stop in Ko Olina -- we all hopped off for a cool treat at a little plaza and waved to neighbors along the way! Photo Ops Everywhere: There were so many spots perfect for photos -- seaside views, cute vintage train cars, and open-air seating made for great candid shots! Plus, we barely saw anyone else there during our ride, so it felt like we had the whole adventure to ourselves. Tips: * Arrive early to grab good seats and explore the train yard * Bring a camera (or phone!) -- the scenery is AMAZING * Don't forget a little extra cash for ice cream! Overall: This was one of our favorite experiences on Oahu -- kid-friendly, super scenic, and just plain fun. We're already talking about going back again next time!

The advertised ice cream stop is just a stop at a local shopping plaza, where you're directed to buy ice cream from the ABC Store. It didn't feel like a special attraction at all. If you're expecting scenic ocean views, temper your expectations. We only caught two brief glimpses of the water. The majority of the ride passes through overgrown brush, a shopping cart graveyard, and several homeless encampments. Overall, it felt like a waste of both our time and money. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with young children.

I left feeling pretty disappointed. The biggest issue isn't the equipment it's the operation. You're paying premium prices, you're required to buy Kid City socks even if you already have perfectly good grippy socks and yet the experience doesn't feel premium. If you're going to enforce those kinds of rules, I'd expect the facility to be cleaner, cooler, and better supervised. The layout also feels disconnected. Unlike Keiki Kingdom, where everything flows together naturally, Kid City feels like a collection of separate rooms rather than one cohesive play space. There are plenty of fun attractions. My kids enjoyed themselves and there are definitely more individual activities here. But what stood out just as much was the number of employees who seemed to be standing around while the things that actually mattered weren't getting enough attention. The bathrooms were sticky, some areas could have used more frequent cleaning and the ball pit was frustrating. Bigger kids were constantly pushing through toddlers, including my two and four year old and there wasn't much staff presence to keep things safe or redirect rough play. I found myself stepping in far more than I expected. None of these issues are difficult to fix. A little more attention to cleanliness, better supervision where kids naturally mix and friendlier service would completely change the experience. My kids still had fun and that's ultimately why we came. But as the parent paying for it, I expected more. Right now it feels like a two star experience with the potential to be much better.

The ride was quite short and simple, but it was still a fun experience, especially for families. The pineapple field itself was nice, although there wasn't a lot to see beyond the fields. However, the overall organization, layout, and system inside the attraction were very well done. There are also small gift shops where you can buy souvenirs and local products. Overall, it was a pleasant family activity and a nice place to visit if you are in the area.

However, a staff member insisted that we sit three people per bench. I understand they were trying to fit more passengers, but being squeezed together for a 20-minute ride was uncomfortable and took away from the experience. The train commentator even mentioned that each bench could seat two or three people, so it would have been nice to let guests choose when possible. This was our first visit to Hawaii, and unfortunately, this ended up being one of the negative memories we'll take home. Thank you, Dole Plantation.

Whenever I try to redeem the discount or a promo, the store treats me like I'm a criminal. Here's a few examples: The Foodland offer: free reusable bag with any $50 or more purchase. I thought this was a great promo, get some grocery shopping done, get a free bag. Win-win. NOT! Some of the workers have no clue about the promo, others say it's only good on the weekends and yet another said the promo expired. Foodland get your act together. I'm spending my money @ your establishment, isn't that a good thing??? (The promo doesn't say weekends only, and the promo is still posted on the KVC site with NO mention of an Expiration Date) L&L offer: 10% of your purchase. When I arrived at the restaurant I showed the cashier the promo ahead of time just in case they weren't gonna honor it, I would eat elsewhere...she looks at it. Asks what is that? Omg really? It's a promo your landlord is offering and you have no idea about it??? She takes my phone and goes to the back kitchen to talk to some guy and asks him about it. The guy says yeah they can accept that. 10% off isn't a real big deal, but I'm helping this establishment by eating there. Smh. So again, the discount program is a joke since the tenants are so resistant to honoring it. I don't understand why? If this brings in the traffic, why not honor it? Instead you make your customers feel like criminals or maybe even worse than that. I grew up shopping @ the Market City Foodland and L&L Hawn BBQ has always been my go-to local plate lunch place so I was elated to see these two tenants here in kapolei, expecting the same great friendly service...boy was I wrong! Kapolei is a growing community, guess I'll be looking elsewhere for my groceries and bbq plate lunches.
