The legendary Mark Kramer, with Pan American!
    Jickles H.

We came here to see the legendary Mark Kramer and Pan American for an evening of ambient guitar-centric music with films playing as a backdrop. We had dinner first and had the Smashed in Paradise burger and some steaks. The food and service were very good and the price was reasonable for what you got. The beer list was good but not huge; no problem - they had what we wanted! The music venue was very large and had great sound. Folding chairs were set up as the music was meant to be experienced with the projected films. I appreciated the open space at the restaurant and venue. Easy to move around and no claustrophobia!! We will happily come back for dinner or a concert or both!

Came here with my fiancee to see her friend's son play in the Led Zeppelin cover band. On an afternoon where all the kids are playing, this is a busy place. There's a long bar area in the front, and the stage is through the doors in the back. I had a rum and coke, people watched, and enjoyed the music. It's a clean place but gets crowded quickly. The bar staff seemed overwhelmed. It was crowded in the back, and people kept walking by trying to steal our table or leaving their trash on our table. The staff used sandbags to prop the doors open so people kept tripping as they came in and out. It was an alright place and experience. It was interesting to see the School of Rock performances.

This is one dope concert venue. Me & my girlfriend got to see Tommy Richman's sold out show and it was everything we expected and then some lol. The crowd was so diverse from age & ethnicity which showed this a venue that excepts everyone. I do want to come back eventually to try their food when the restaurant is open.

We just tried this place for dine in but my husband ordered takeout before and enjoyed the burger and fries. We also got a few things from the butcher and everything has bren good. Especially the dry aged steak... one of the best steaks I've ever had. When we went this week, I got the the filet mignon. Beware the menus aren't consistent. What was online was different than the QR code but we asked and could still have the filet. It was on the rare side for medium rare but very tender cut. The broccoli was good but a little sparse. My husband tried the special burger and enjoyed it. He liked their fries a lot. For starters we had the oysters and wings. The oysters were good. My husband but into what appeAred to be a raw drumstick and we told the waiter. He took them back to the kitchen, comped the app, and brought new crisper ones. They ensured us they had been smoked for 6 hours and were cooked through but def looked suspect. Either way, the waiter was great and they handled it well. Overall, good service. Pretty good food and great butcher.

I didn't eat anything here, but I wanted to comment this is a FABULOUS place to catch a live show! Spent just $35 to watch Mucca Pazza on NYE and it was one of the best concert going experiences in years. The space is clean, open, well-ventilated, with high ceilings and great acoustics. Space for a merch table. Could pop in and out to the bar if needed. I was just there to see the show so I didn't eat or drink anything, but they did offer food before the show and the menu looked great. Staff: SUPER NICE! This was NYE and they were dealing with a lot of sauced up customers by 1 AM when I left, and were very kind and patient with everyone and especially nice and welcoming to me as I arrived and left. Coat check, too. I can't wait to see another show here.

Came for brunch a long while back and it was a solid brunch spot! Recently came for the Tommy Richmond show and it was so fun! Super easy to get in, no line. Smaller venue with an upstairs which was nice. Our beers were somewhat cheap but I did see the cocktails were a little expensive. I'll come back for another show for sure!

Food came out very quickly and staff were nice :) So tasty without bones and cauliflower was perfect! Not to soft and not uncooked.

Screw this venue. Woefully understaffed bar meant waiting about ten minutes for a round of drinks. $9.00 for a shot of well bourbon and then these people have the nerve to tack on a 20% tip without telling you. When they hand the credit card machine over, it has some suggested tips--those are above and beyond the 20%. This place left a bad taste in my mouth

We came here Wednesday evening for happy hour - which means Oysters! For February, they had a special deal - a bottle of Michael Lavelle rosé with a dozen oysters for $35. Given that a dozen oysters was $27, this special was definitely worth it. The oysters were nice - not the best I've tasted but they had a delicate and light flavor and were served with horseradish with cocktail sauce, or vinaigrette with shallots. Nothing tasted spoiled. For happy hour, we also ordered a few of the appetizers - cauliflower bites and also wings. These were marinated in Siracha chili, and honey sesame. Both sauces had a good taste and provided a good amount of moisture to the fried plates. We also ordered a cheese plate, which was nothing to brag about - it had Swiss, cheddar, and bleu cheese, along with some chicken liver pate and a few cold cuts of meats. In contrast to a lot of the other reviews I've seen, service was quick and they were extremely polite and accommodating. That being said, there were about 4 tables seated and the rest of the place was empty - perks of coming on a weekday night I guess. Overall price was very acceptable, since we ordered off happy hour menu. If I'm looking for a cheap oyster experience on Wednesdays, I'll be for sure coming here.

    Prosciutto Wrapped Burrata

Had tickets to a show and came here for dinner before. It was perfect logistics. Really convenient. Had the choice of sitting inside or outside and chose to dine on the patio. Interesting murals and comfortable, casual tables. We waited a really long time for service, but as I implore others to do, understand there is a serious staff shortage everywhere, remain patient and understanding. Once our server came by, she was very sweet and apologetic. They didn't have a cider on tap, my personal favorite, so I started with a very spicy, but very yummy spicy Margarita. After that, I switched to a canned cider option. It was okay. We had the burrata wrapped in prosciutto. Hated this dish! I would almost suggest that they remove it from the menu. I don't want to make a flippant comment without constructive feedback, so allow me to explain and also preface this by saying that this is clearly based on my personal experience and expectations. I eat burrata very often and have always seen it presented as a pillowy ball or small pulls of it on a pizza so I envisioned that but just with a blanket of prosciutto. Instead, it was 4 rolls of prosciutto with burrata spread in the middle. Without a photo as a visual aid, I'd say it was comparable to a salami/cream cheese roll up made famous in the 1980s potluck party scene, if you were lucky, there was a pickle in the middle...okay, sorry getting back on track. I'm in no way complaining that it was too much prosciutto, but the overall dish just made no sense. It was like eating a huge piece of lunch meat with a fork and knife. There could have been bread or more burrata. The cheese to meat ratio was very off. I cut away the prosciutto entirely to be able to taste the burrata, it was incredibly overpowering and I do love me some prosciutto, but this was an incredibly disappointing $16 appetizer. It's almost a bad look. I wish it didn't taint the rest of my experience because we both enjoyed our burgers, albeit smaller in size than what I'm used to, but quality ingredients and well cooked. I had the smash burger. Thumbs up for sure. My husband had the Royal burger and it was also pretty stellar. I upgraded from fries to elotes and glad I did. The elotes were fire. We both declared it our favorite dish of the evening. Overall, we had a solid experience, but my takeaways are to avoid the prosciutto wrapped burrata, get the elotes and plan accordingly because we both felt like either portions were a little small or we need to evaluate our appetites, but we both felt like we were still a little hungry.

Be sure to make your reservation in advance because you will not be seated without one due to its popularity among both locals and tourists. We come here every time we visit Chicagoat. The food is absolutely amazing. We had the following dishes: 1. Roasted Pig Face Straw fries topped with roasted pork face, a sunny egg, and a collection of magical sauces that somehow transform into pure comfort when mixed together. I don't even know exactly what's in the sauce, but I don't need to know. This dish is divine and an absolute must-order. The crispy fries, rich and tender pork that practically melts apart, silky egg yolk, and savory sauce create a dish that is indulgent, comforting, and ridiculously delicious 2. Green Beans Not featured in the photo because we ate them too fast. Enough said. Get them. 3. Goat Mousse The menu changes periodically, so this was a new dish for us. The goat mousse was creamy, rich, and surprisingly light, served with sweet jam, crumpets, crackers, pickles, and giardiniera. The contrast of sweet, tangy, creamy, crunchy, and savory flavors creates a little flavor party in your mouth. Every bite can be customized differently, which made this dish especially fun to share. 4. Pork Belly & Watermelon Perfectly cooked pork belly with a crisp exterior and rich, savory flavor, balanced beautifully by refreshing watermelon cubes and fresh greens. I don't know how healthy it is, but we aren't here for health. We're here for flavor. We're here for comfort. We're here to be punched in the soul with food that we will never forget! The sweet, juicy watermelon cuts through the richness of the pork belly and creates a combination that sounds unusual but works incredibly well. 5. Halibut with Thai Sprouts A beautifully cooked piece of halibut served with Thai sprouts, miso marcona butter, and blueberry fish sauce. Yes, blueberry fish sauce. And yes, it works. The fish was flaky, buttery, and perfectly cooked. The savory umami from the miso butter paired with the subtle sweetness and acidity from the fish sauce created a combination that was balanced, and memorable yet surprising to me. The restaurant itself has a dark, energetic atmosphere and is always packed. The tables are definitely close together, but given how popular the restaurant is, I understand why they maximize the space. Absolutely recommend coming here. Your tummies won't regret it.

Our server, Miguel, was phenomenal. She was attentive, fast, and gave us some spot-on recommendations. Per her advice, we ordered the deviled eggs with jalapeño, hands down the highlight of the table. The deviled eggs with paired with that subtle jalapeño kick was absolutely perfect. For the mains, the chicken and waffles were good, carrying that solid comfort food flavor you expect. The waffles were a bit soft for my taste. To drink, the sidecar was mixed perfectly, well-balanced, crisp, and hit the exact right note. Giving it 4 stars only because while the mains were good, the starters and the outstanding service from Miguel were what truly stole the show. I'll definitely be back to hang out at the bar again nest time I am in town!

We were greeted by the host in which I believe to be the manager. He was pleasant and welcome. The restaurant itself is aesthetically appealing and it gives an upscale vibe. We sat and didn't have to wait too long for the waitress. She was nice and assisted up accordingly! I ordered the bottle of champagne for mimosas with pineapple and orange juice and was pleasantly surprised by the $35 price since we're used to paying twice that back home. The food came out pretty quick and was hot and ready to eat. All of our food was good well and we all enjoyed our dishes. My only takeaway would be if guests ordered bottled water and/or champagne, the waitress should poor them into the glasses for you. From my experience, this is something that I thought was a norm. Overall, great place to eat!

Wow! So happy I finally got to come here. They have recently started accepting some reservations…read moreand I was lucky enough to get one. I understand why they are famous for their burgers. I had the single cheeseburger and it lived up to the hype. I learned that the single burger is actually a double and the double is actually a triple. I was recommended to add an egg and bacon to the burger and I'm glad I did. Each bite was a glorious burst of flavor. The bacon is epic. Thick juicy slices. The cheeseburger was perfect. I didn't need additional condiments and that never happens for me. The fries were good too and came with a delicious aioli. For beverages, I loved my Arnold Palmer. I also tried a cocktail--the Long Island Iced Coffee. It was pretty strong. I added a shot of bourbon cream to it and that sweetened it up and made it perfect for me. Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert. Cute restaurant. Cozy inside. They have an outdoor patio as well. If you don't have a reservation, be prepared to wait. Excellent food. Excellent service. Jennifer took great care of me and made great suggestions. It's pricy but it's worth it.

The process of getting seated through a busy period, and the service throughout was excellent. But as often happens with me, the food didn't live up to the hype. My wife and I were picking up my brother and his son from O'Hare at around 10 am on a Saturday. We had dinner plans with our uncle, but had not planned anything in between. The flight came in on time, and once confirmed we all had the time, my brother suggested going to Chicago to try Au Cheval. He knew about their location LV, but none of us had tried their original location in Chicago. So we drove into Chicago, arriving at the restaurant at 11 (it opens at 10am). There was a check-in stand set-up outside, where someone was taking names/phone numbers to put on the waiting list. We were quoted a 45 minute wait, and got the text to hurry back after about 30 minutes. There was a line to put your name down on the list, so we skipped that by going right in. The friendly hostess seated us in a booth, with a nice view of the kitchen where they were making the burgers in mass. The waitress explained that a single burger meant two patties (each patty is 4 oz, so basically a half pound burger), and a double meaning three. My brother and his son both ordered a double cheeseburger ($19.99 each), and I got a single with added sunny side up egg ($21.48). I wanted my wife to be able to take a bite, so asked for everything to be on the side (sauce, dill pickle slices, and grilled onion bits). We also ordered french fries ($8.99), cooked in duck fat. In the meanwhile, followed a fellow yelpers suggestion and got two Allagash Whites ($9 each) for me and my nephew. It's a really good beer that I've had many times during happy hour, and goes great with rich, greasy food. My wife got something else: the General Janes Chicken, which is their version of Korean Fried Chicken ($24.98). She enjoyed it (the coating was still crispy, and the sauce had that pronounced kochujang flavor that we like). Everything is a la carte here (except for the complementary pickle spear with burgers), so she shared in the ordered fries. Food came out together and was served hot. There is a mandatory 3.25% surcharge, and payment is taken at the table. As mentioned, service was excellent throughout. To be honest, I'm not the right person to judge a burger like this (I like it backyard style, with a lot of lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles...and mayo/ketchup). But my brother and nephew are (they have tried many, many burgers all across the world, and don't like too much toppings on their burger), and they said the burger was just OK for them. I liked the frites (cooked in duck fat)...very light in color, but still crispy on the outside. However, nobody else really ate them, saying they weren't great. It's unusual for me to be the least critical after dining, but I'm sure it had something to do with the observation that I didn't have to pay for it (since it was my brother's treat).
