Everything was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. I especially loved the eggplant with yogurt sauce (I actually preferred that it was served with pita bread). The bolani was great and plentiful. The lamb kabob was good, but it was lacking the chickpea salad I usually get at other afghan restaurants, but the amount of rice to meat was perfect. They even gave us free rose pistachio milk pudding at the end. And then gave me extra when I told him my guy ate my portion cuz it was so yummy. The perfect end to our meal. I did a previous review and just held an event here and it was perfect! Food was served right on time and the staff was very empathetic to our needs. The tables and environment was awesome outdoors. I thought the rain outside would have ruined the event but we were still safe. The food was amazing as always and I recommend everyone to cater from here as their go to Afghan caterer. I've been to Chopan Kabob so many times, and every single visit has been consistently amazing. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and truly stands out -- you can taste the quality in every bite. Everything I've tried has been delicious, but I especially always crave their chapli kabob... it's that good! We were craving bolani and our normal spot was out. So we decided new year new spot! Chopan has been bookmarked and we see it when we drive by but never stop due to being a creature of habit. So happy we finally got to try Chopan Kabob! The bolani is fire here! On deck: Bolani Kachaloo Beef Shami Kabob Lamb Karahi The beef shami had good flavor but it was a bit on the dry side. It was good though and not overly salty. The lamb Karahi here is a must. The tomato base really makes the dish. Lamb was tender and I want to try the chicken Karahi next. Both dishes came with a small salad, rice, and piece of naan. Salad was light and fresh with a vinegarattre. Id pass on the naan since it was very thin and stale. Rice was mediocre. Overall I'm a fan of Chopan but I want to try other items. read more

Visited here after a long day in SF showing family from Virginia around SF. Knowing we had a lot to live up to, we took a chance on Chopan Kabob. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. While belonging to the same culture I could tell the staff treated both afghans and other people amazingly. We ordered the family platter and the staff were even so kind they brought us bolani on the house. The food tasted great, I loved everything about the portions, plating, and especially the silver cups for water. Only improvement I see is adding a bit more flavor to the kabobs themselves as per our taste they were a tad bland and unsalted. However the meat quality was like no other afghan restaurant we've visited in awhile. The beef tikka was so soft it practically melted into your mouth and the chicken was juicy and moist. They finished us off with complimentary servings of Firni and a to go box. Our guests from out of state were also impressed, the atmosphere felt very comfortable like they were back in Kabul. All in all great restaurant and we'll definitely be keeping them in mind when coming out to Dublin for Afghan food again. read more

Chopan kabab was a chance visit to try out their menu. My wife and I ordered their sample protein platter and were completely happy with our choice. Very tasty one wonderful flavors to the last bite. Food on Iftaar buffet was dried out like it was reheated from days prior. Did not taste fresh. The service was horrible. The cashier was rude. He was grabbing dates w bare hands to give to customers then going back to register to handle money, writing stuff w pen. Germs transfer. Why don't you use a glove to handle food? First time came here with no customer service no smile. The food was not good. The food came late. The server was bad. I drove 40 minutes to come here. Not much to review about. Came here in a lazy Sunday around 2 pm. Menu is simple. I order the two item combo with rice and mini salad. Chicken and Chapli beef kabob which was recommended. I should have went with the lamb but that is on me. Chicken for sure was tasteful and very tender and juicy . Place is clean there is a patio in the rear which is very hidden I didn't even know until I saw the yelp pic of it. I told the person I wanted a Coke soda and it never came. The water he gave and filled once had a weird aftertaste. Service is friendly . I didn't order anything sweet, you can go across the street to Dairy Queen for that . Next door to a chevron car wash. The total was under $20 gave him $3 for the tip jar . Your basic average Afghan restaurant not too good not too bad. I overheard the guy said they cater 400 people parties. More of a take out place. Lastly, they need to turn the A/C on hot days like this in summer because cracking open the back door is not helping . read more

Definitely worth coming here! The restaurant is nothing special and sometimes it not filled. The interior is quite simple, but it's okay because we are not here to look at the wall. The staff is always professional and friendly . Very attentive and we have never had a problem. The food is great! To be honest, I am not sure what I ordered. My partner is the one that chooses, but I liked every bit of it. Look at pictures and ask for it!
