Moussaka is on the menu! Hubby loves this dish so wanted to give it a try. This restaurant serves halal Mediterranean and Turkish food. You order at the counter, go sit down, and they bring your food to your table. It's a popular spot, several people were enjoying a late lunch and others doing take out. They have at least a dozen tables inside and a few outside as well. The moussaka proved to be a solid choice. It came with hummus, salad, rice and bread. Hubby enjoyed the fresh flavors and said he would definitely order it again. I ordered the chicken shish wrap and it was smaller in size but filling. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. Overall, a nice experience. The interior is cozy and comfortable. The staff will come and clean the tables as time allows. There was very little interaction with the employees but they thanked us as we were leaving. Plenty of parking in the large lot shared with many other businesses.

It wasn't too crowded when we got here at 6pm on a Saturday night, but about 30 minutes later, there was a line almost out the door. I ordered a chicken Adana wrap and the fries which was a huge meal.

We are here with family for dinner last night. Food is ordered at the counter, and everything came out fast. We started with orders of the dolmas, which were good, and spanakopita, which were fantastic. Three of us had the gyro platters, and the fourth had the gyro wrap. Gyro meat was different than any other gyro we've had before. It was somewhat thin and kind of shredded. To me, it tasted more like beef than lamb, and could've used more seasoning. Everything was good, and maybe I'd get it again, but I would do so not expecting a typical gyro dish. I'm not sure my daughter was impressed with her gyro wrap. More lettuce than meat, and I think she had a similar view on the taste. Hummus, pita, and everything else were fine.

Chicken Gyros was on point. Needed the Taziki and not the Tahini, but was still a winner.

Great food quality. Simple, yet delicious. Plenty of great options for lamb, chicken, and beef. Staff was great, and was min close proximity to my hotel. I'll definitely be back when visiting the area. You don't want to miss out. Great job guys.

Super solid Mediterranean food! The portions are super generous and everything was delicious! I got the Truva Special Mix and it came with a lamb kebab, lamb and beef gyro, chicken gyro, chicken kebab, and a lamb shish kebab. The plate was absolutely loaded with meat and it came with a side of bread that was super soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauces were excellent and paired very well with each item on the plate. The chicken had an excellent grill flavor to it and the gyro was amazing. The seasoning on all the meats including the grilled veggies which included peppers and tomatoes were solid! All in all, great choice for Mediterranean/Turkish food!

A wonderful local find! We had such a lovely experience here! The owners are incredibly family-friendly and made us feel welcome the moment we walked in. The ambiance is clean and cozy, making it a great spot to grab dinner. We were impressed by how fast the food came out, and the complimentary cucumber water was such a refreshing, thoughtful touch. We got the Adana & Chicken/Lamb Kebab plate. Soo delicious! Excellent customer service all around--we will definitely be back

I can't believe I've never been here before! I see Truva on Yelp all the time, but didn't realize how close it was to my work. Truva is located next to the Chick-fil-A on Hopyard Rd. There's plenty of parking in the lot. I ordered the chicken gyros plate (comes with pita bread) and the baba ganoush. Everything was fresh and delicious! It was a bit pricey, but I had leftovers for the next day so it wasn't too bad. The baba ganoush was nice and smokey and it was perfect with the pita bread! I'll definitely be back to try the other dishes.

Visiting Pleasanton and this restaurant was such a nice surprise. Very clean inside and friendly prompt service. Order from front and they bring to your table. Everything is freshly made. The chicken kebab plate was delicious. Chicken prepared and seasoned perfectly. Side of rice, hummus that tasted homemade with a delicious bread to dip in and a salad with cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes and delicious dressing. Loved everything about this restaurant!

A friend took me here for lunch today. My first time and I loved the foods here. The garlic white sauce is so yummy! The meat is fresh. The bread is also so good! I got the combo dish while my friend got a chicken dish. I would come back and bring my family here. Can't wait to try other foods! Service was great! I like atmosphere of this place too. All good all around!

Ask the Community - Truva Mediterranean Grill

Are the menu prices current? Thanks.

    Yes.

What's the difference between the Truva Special Mix Grill for $23.99 and the Combination Kebob Plate for $18.99? Looks like they just rearranged the words on the menu?

Two different orders. Combination kebab only two kebab combinations, Truva special shish kebab, chicken kebab, Adana kebab, and mixed gyro combined...

Does this place have halal meat?

    It's all halal.

We ordered rice pudding and it arrived liquid/runny, is it supposed to be like that?

Yes, Turkish pudding isn't as "jell-o" and rubbery as American pudding, it's more like a dry cream layer on top of a more liquid body.

Great food, for the kebab lovers…read more I like the combo shish plate. Their meats are so good. It's nicely charred and still tender. The beef and chicken were both excellent. Great flavors. I enjoyed both. With it comes a lot of things- the pita was soft and fluffy. It paired nicely with the creamy and garlicy hummus. So smooth. Like butter. The salad had a nice burst of acidity to it and was very refreshing to eat. Good seasoning/dressing. There was also a yogurt sauce on the side which was delicious. Tangy. The rice was fluffy and soft. It was so much food! Great deal imo.

I've been meaning to try the one in Pleasanton forever ago, but I stumbled onto this newer location…read morein Livermore so here we are. Looks like it took over the old Harry's Hofbrau space except they turned that massive space into 2 units now, as the days of massive dining halls are starting to become a rarity. Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

Flavor was all over the place -- a couple pieces had no salt at all, while others were way too salty. And the spicyness wasnt(aka chilli flakes) in the potato mixture wasnt spread well either. I got the triple kabob plate and the rice portion was surprisingly small compared to other Afghan spots. Chicken kabobs were inconsistent: some pieces were super salty, others were fine. The beef was tender, but not every bite had the same flavor. Chicken was tender though, cut well. Could have been flavored a bit more Plates overall felt smaller than what I'm used to at similar restaurants. Also worth mentioning -- they serve alcohol here, so if you're strict about halal, that might be a consideration. Since a place selling wine- not sure how strict they are on sourcing halal meat (hand slaughter for example). Also very pricey location compared to others maybe since they serve wine they catering to folks that drink who may spend more without caring All in all, not terrible, but definitely inconsistent and portion sizes could be better. Worth mentioning that all these de afghanans are not same - they have diff owners etc. Not bad seating, was empty for a sunday lunch at noon .
