I've been going here since I was a kid and it's always been a favorite spot. The food is so good and fresh and the prices are right. The inside is very neat they have a koi pond and nice decor.. very family friendly without breaking the bank

Hidden gem in forest hills. Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Amazing service and even better sushi! Will definitely be coming here more often.

We've been to this location a few times and have visited the Perry Hall location also. They have an abundant Sushi selection and I usually order the Volcano Roll which is a favorite (flame is a nice touch) as well the House Fried Rice & Shrimp Egg Rolls are excellent. Recently ordered the Veggie Fried Rice which was just fine without protein. Although, the Fried Crab Meat Wonton starter was a miss as we just tasted mostly cream cheese. We like the decor and space more for this location vs White marsh. Service is friendly and attentive. Although we don't get here as much as we used to, solid for Sushi and Chinese.

$3.95 | Mochi Tea ice cream - ice cream was chewy and texturally unsatisfying. I thought it would be scoops of creamy ice cream.

Customer service - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 4 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 3 out of 5 There are certain dishes I really enjoy from Chopstix and others that lack luster. My son loves the food here and overall I do enjoy the sit down dining experience. Customer service is always friendly and very speedy. Our food has never taken a long time to reach our table. Complimentary crispy noodles get brought to the table right away with a side of what I assume is duck sauce. We always enjoy those. Restaurant appeared to be clean, but we did have a fly that pestered us throughout our dinner. Atmosphere is nice, it's always pretty quiet inside the restaurant. I will say, this place never seems to be busy, whether it's lunch time or dinner during the weekend. I ordered the Dragon Roll, Octopus sushi, & Mochi Tea ice cream. Dragon roll was decent, the eel tasted good. Octopus was rubbery and tasted like it was previously frozen (I imagine that it's hard to get fresh, never frozen, octopus around here). The mochi tea ice cream was a let down. I thought it was going to be scoops of ice cream. Instead it was two portions in the shape of egg bites, served on a plate. Although I enjoyed the mochi tea taste, the consistency of the "ice cream" was a huge miss for me. It wasn't soft and creamy at all. Instead it was chewy and texturally unsatisfying. With a score of 22 out of 25 stars, I give this restaurant a B+ Overall verdict - I recommend this restaurant for a quick and quiet dining experience that is inexpensive. I do not recommend the mochi tea ice cream. Since my son likes this restaurant a lot, we will visit again within the next couple months

Everything was delicious. Fresh and tasty I know fresh because I saw them preparing the fresh veggies. The Sweet and Sour soup is the best I have ever had. Service was so pleasant and quick. We have made this our place to come to for delicious food. Thank you Mae for your fantastic service.

Do they serve dim sum at the Forest Hill location, or just Rosedale?

Yes, they do. I have never ordered it. It's called dumplings. A nearby place with absolutely delicious made to order dim sum is 'China Delight' 2 miles north off of Rockspring…

Aug. 2026 Customer…read moreservice - 5 out of 5 Wait time - 5 out of 5 Cleanliness - 5 out of 5 Atmosphere - 5 out of 5 Food quality - 5 out of 5 I'm glad my wife told me about this AYCE spot, and being only 25 minutes from Bel Air is a bonus. For a Saturday night, the crowd was lighter than expected, which worked in our favor. We were seated immediately and food came out fast. The restaurant was still active, just not chaotic. The hot bar was well‑maintained, with staff constantly refreshing items and keeping the area clean. Tables were bussed quickly, and the entire place felt organized and spotless. Our waiter was extremely patient, even as we went past the 90‑minute limit. He stayed kind, attentive, and made sure we had everything we wanted. I'll definitely return soon, and I highly recommend this place, especially for sushi lovers. With a score of 25 out of 25, I give this restaurant an A+.

I've also seen their IG post from different influencers and the food looked amazing... I decided to go here on a Saturday around 430pm. It slowly got more and more busy, but it was pretty chill when I got there. Kanji Sushi is located in the White Marsh Mall. Right by the entrance near the parking lot area. The pricing for "All You Can Eat Sushi" is pretty fair, $31 for adults. If you want the sashimi, it's a $5 upcharge. With a 90 minute dining time limit. Leftovers will be charged, including the sushi rice. The drinks are not included. Certain fountain soda drinks are free refill and others are charged per drink. (They had one of my faves Cherry Cola! Yaaaas.) They also had juices, lemonade, tea, "marble soda"/ ramune where you pop a marble to open the drink, sparkling water. They don't currently have a liquer license so not alcohol yet. I believe there are also ala carte options where you can purchase each individual item separately instead of all you can eat, but don't quote me on that. Behind the hostess area there is a Maneki Neko/ Maneko good luck japanese cat figure along with different cities in Japan written on the wood behind it. Across from that are 2 claw machines. Lots of seating inside, tables and booths. Naturally, I HAD TO GET THE SASHIMI add on option for +$5 on the AYCE price... if you love fresh raw slices of sashimi, this is where they're at! (I know raw sushi isn't everyone's jams, but there are a lot of cooked options here too!) I love all things sushi and sashimi... all things including the raw fishies!!! Sashimi items included Salmon/ Sake, Tuna/ Maguro, Yellowtail/ Hamachi, Egg Custard/ Tamago, Tobiko/ Flying Fish Roe (these are placed on slices of crunchy cucumber - yummy!), White Tuna/ Escolar, Red Snapper/ Tai, Crab Meat Sticks/ Kani, Squid/ Ika, and Red Surf Clam/ Hokkigai. And a few sashimi items not listed on the menu including Shrimp/ Ebi, Eel/ Unagi, Tofu Skin/ Aburage and Smoked Salmon available. Please ask your server about these. I got most of the sashimi options x2 (2 slices each), minus the tofu skin and smoked salmon. They were beautiful, juicy, healthy cuts plated aside wasabi and pickled ginger/ agari, on a bed of carrot slivers and kale. I know most people just leave these on the plate, but I like to break up my protein with some vegetables in between. Soy sauce is in a container on the table. Appetizers: Miso Soup, Edamame, Seaweed Salad, Kani Salad (spicy/ regular), Kani Special, Yuzu Salmon Salad, Pepper Tuna and Yellowtail Jalapeño (recommended). Don't sleep on the Yellowtail Jalapeño! Succulent slices of Yellowtail with crunchy jalapeño slices and ponzu sauce I believe. The menu selection has a vast variety of everything, both raw and COOKED ITEMS: Cooked items like Fried Rice (Hibachi, Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Vegetables); Fried Udon (wider thicker) Noodles (Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Vegetables); Cooked Sushi Rolls: California, Chicken Tempura, Salmon Skin, Eel Cucumber, Spicy Crab, Salmon Tempura, Shrimp Tempura, and Eel Avocado. Vegetable Sushi Rolls: Spicy Avocado, Mango Avocado, Sweet Potato and Peanut Avocado. Teriyaki (sweet and savory): Chicken, Salmon, Tofu, Shrimp, and Steak. Hibachi: Vegetables, Chicken, Shrimp, Steak, and Salmon. All with the option of with or without vegetables. The other side of the menu showed their specialty rolls. There were 18 choices to choose from! I tried the Spider Roll, which was fried softshell crab with avocado and cucumber with eel sauce. And the Philadelphia Roll. Salmon, cream cheese and avocado. Both were yummy. I really wish I had room to try more of the rolls! Further in the restaurant there were Hot Bar Items like Spring Rolls, Fried Chicken, Crab Cream Cheese Ragoons (recommended - more sweet tangy cream cheese than crab with crispy won ton wrappers), Calamari, Salt and Black Pepper Shrimp, General Tso's Chicken (recommended), and a Seafood Boil. And a Cold Bar, next to the Hot Bar and the Desserts Fridge. It has Cakes, Salad and bottles of Sauces. Fruits like Watermelon, Pineapple, Honeydew Melon, Lychee, and Longan/ Dragon Eye. The Desserts Fridge had cups of ice cream and fruit flavored bars. Again, I wish I had room to try the Desserts, maybe next time! And all the flowers and appreciation for the awesome server I had, Cristin! Thank you Cristin! :D She did an awesome job of making sure I knew how the dining experience at Kanji Sushi worked as it was my first time. She took her time to explain all the things to me about the menu, sashimi, hot and cold bars, drinks and more. She was very attentive, making sure I was good with orders and everything was okay. Such a sweetheart and sparkling personality! Definitely 10/10 customer service! If you got some free time and enjoy sushi, especially sashimi, definitely check this place out! (:

There were times I want to tell him he was doing such a good job since my party was big and that's a lot of different people, paces and energy to manage. Nonetheless everything came out timely. We're not too hungry but hungry enough for some app and a roll. We're decided on crab Rangoon, calamari, tuna tataki and titanic roll. Everything was great, we finished it all. Love the tuna, presented beautifully on a lettuce sprinkled with green onions and black sesame. The calamari, while it's not the breaded crispy, its crispy and stir fried with red green pepper and red onions. Loved this too. Crab Rangoon, it's good but not a fan of the dipping sauce that came with it. It's overly sweet and thick in the consistency... this one could definitely be improved. We ended up eating it with the sauce that came with the calamari. Now onto the titanic, nothing but good thing. Fresh and love give it has a black caviar on top. Last but not least, we had to finish with mango sticky rice. The rice came out so warm which was a very nice touch. Ate every bits of it. Service was great attentive and dining area is clean and pretty. There's a seating area on the side where you basically sit in the floor. Would love to come back and experience that another time.
