    Amazing Roll

Hanging out in Maryland on business and it's dinner time! So I did my usual Yelp due-diligence to find a good sushi place since it's what I was craving. I found Fuji Sushi and here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the edge of what looks like a campus of strip malls is this gem. Inside is pretty traditional. I don't want to use the word boring, but the decor was straightforward. Dark woods, a drop ceiling and pictures of Japanese-related art all over the place. It was quiet despite it being pretty busy in there. Service: I sat right at the sushi counter so I could see all of the action! I was also all alone so I didn't want to take up an entire table. Cat took care of me and she was pretty chill. She got me what I needed and everything was fine. However my sushi did take a while to come out. Food: I started with some Shumai which are steamed shrimp dumplings. They were hot, with a medium boldness, not very salty or shrimpy. A good mix of overall flavors. Next up was the Amazing Roll which is a "spicy crunch salmon" and fresh mango on the inside with blackened tuna, sweet shrimp, eel and avocado outside then finished with a special sauce and assorted tobiko on top. It was fresh, not spicy with a light-medium boldness, a good moderate crunch. This was DELIGHTFUL. Lastly I went with their Flora Roll. I can't remember what was in this roll since it's no longer offered on the menu, but it was really succulent, creamy, spicy, with a moderate crunch and I also REALLY liked this roll. Value: When I went my shumai was $5.75 and each of my rolls were $16.00 and when I look at their menu now, the prices haven't changed. THAT'S amazing. Lol. In conclusion, I enjoyed my time here and I'd surely come back.

I'm not the best judge for sushi because I don't like eating raw fish, and usually only order avocado rolls, but I went a bit more experimental and tried the scallop sushi. It came raw and reinforced my aversion to the raw seafood, but mainly because of the texture and lack of taste to me. I LOVED the vegetable tempura and their avocado roll! My friends had delicious and wonderful looking sushi that was both exciting to see and hear about. Our server was super helpful and sweet. I forgot to ask her name because of the delicious plum wine, and the environment was just so friendly, exclusive, and all encompassing, very cozy. I'd like to try more and I'm looking forward to it!

    Chicken hibachi and Sunrise Roll

I frequent this place for the lunch combo special because the hibachi deal with a soup and fried rice is a bargain. Came here for Easter with my mom and girlfriend for her first time. Started with a Fuji roll, miso soup, and seaweed salad. The Fuji roll is my new favorite and the soup and salad are spectacular. We finished with the sunrise roll and chicken hibachi. Everything is always so good and the service on top of that is exceptional every time. They want you to have a great experience whether you dine in or take out. I can't recommend this place enough. I wish I could add another star 6/5!

Sushi was good. Service was friendly and the ambiance was ok. Full bar with talented staff. Good place to grab some sushi.

I was reminded that we've visited this spot before although it has been some time. It was a random "let's have Sushi on a Thursday night" and Fuji came to mind. They were quiet a little after 5. Online ordering was seamless and our order was ready as promised. For starters it was the Spicy Seafood Salad. This one was a hit! Crab, Shrimp & Octopus with a just right Spicy Mayo. Could also pass as a light entree. Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura didn't disappoint and some of the best that we've had. Asari Miso Soup was very good. Ordered a variety of Special/Maki rolls and some Sashimi (Salmon, Tuna). Superb Yellow Tail, shrimp Tempura and Dynamite Roll. Enjoyed all of the Rolls with Dynamite and Shrimp Tempura standing out. The extra sides of Wasabi and Honey Wasabi Mayo are not to be missed! Our order was ready as promised. Service was friendly and our additional Soup and Sashimi order was filled quickly. I like their Bar area and looked like dine-in would be enjoyable. One of the top Sushi spots in the Bel Air area.

Custom assortment of Sushi and Rolls

The place was great. It all started with a plan to grab grocery store sushi, they were picked over so we decided to give this local spot a chance. Wow. A perfect experience. The service was lovely and the kids even said the restaurant had a chill vibe. We got a selection of Sushi and the Miso soup was extra tasty. What a gem we found.

    Nigori sake

Our hostess was wonderful! A perfect guide to a very ambitious menu. Her recommendation of the Nigori sake, rather than my usual filtered sake, was a winner, and set the tone for a perfect meal. The miso soup was complex, the appetizers delicious, the Flamingo roll perfect, and the sashimi dinner stunningly presented, and outstanding.

    Kelli T.

Overall, the meal and atmosphere was great! My boyfriend and I went for sushi, tempura veggies and shrimp, and the gyoza. I wish the sauces with the appetizers were more acidic or spicy. The only flavor I could really detect was salt. The sushi presentation was beautiful! Our server was great and consistently checked in on us. I can't wait to go back and try their hibachi or teriyaki choices.

We're not too hungry but hungry enough for some app and a roll. We're decided on crab Rangoon, calamari, tuna tataki and titanic roll. Everything was great, we finished it all. Love the tuna, presented beautifully on a lettuce sprinkled with green onions and black sesame. The calamari, while it's not the breaded crispy, its crispy and stir fried with red green pepper and red onions. Loved this too. Crab Rangoon, it's good but not a fan of the dipping sauce that came with it. It's overly sweet and thick in the consistency... this one could definitely be improved. We ended up eating it with the sauce that came with the calamari. Now onto the titanic, nothing but good thing. Fresh and love give it has a black caviar on top. Last but not least, we had to finish with mango sticky rice. The rice came out so warm which was a very nice touch. Ate every bits of it. Service was great attentive and dining area is clean and pretty. There's a seating area on the side where you basically sit in the floor. Would love to come back and experience that another time.

At first I was like, no way it can actually be that good. But it really was that good! I love comfort Asian food, and this place was BOMB. The food was legit sooo good, and my only regret is that I didn't get more sauce, because their chicken was so moist and flavorful that I wanted to drench it. I do wish they did delivery, since I had to make a specific trip out here for it, but honestly it was worth going out of my way for. I placed a catering/pickup order at 8:30 AM for my friend's birthday, with a scheduled pickup time of 12:30 PM. When I arrived to pick up the order, I was told that everything I had ordered was sold out. The frustrating part was that I was never notified ahead of time, so I had no opportunity to make another selection before arriving. Since my friend doesn't eat chicken, I had to find another seafood option on the spot. Once I found something that would work, I had to pay an additional $15 and then wait another 20 minutes for the new order. I normally go to the Locust Point location and have never really had issues there, so I don't want this experience to give the impression that I think Ekiben is bad overall. This was genuinely just one bad experience. The food itself is still AMAZING. I'm obsessed with the Tacklebox, the tempura broccoli is , and the chili noodles are an absolute SMASH. I'll definitely still be back because I genuinely love Ekiben -- I just hope there's better communication when an item from a scheduled order is no longer available.
