Got a take out salad from the new Chopt in Newtown. A crispy chicken Caesar salad. Huge bowl with nicely chopped salad, giving it a pleasure to eat. For any Seinfeld fans out there, Elaine would love this Big Salad. I will try to include my picture which shows a half eaten bowl with plenty left over to snack on. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Ranch Salad. The salad I received had one small piece of chicken, one pepper, and no cheese at all. The picture attached clearly shows how low quality and lacking their food is. It was delivered so I had no way to bring it back to the counter and complain. Lost my lunch time and wasted money. I got a salad (make your own), basically spinach, tofu and falafel. As a first timer, I think I messed up and asked for a different dressing than would have been my first choice (oops), but overall the experience was OK. The salad is huge so I shared a bit with my fast food burger boyfriend and I can take half with my lunch tomorrow. It is pricey- $14, but I know that a container of spinach at the grocery is $5, so not totally outrageous and if I just wanted to save $, I would have made my own salad but out and about, I wanted some one else to make it. Might be nice to be able to taste the dressings before ordering AND it would be nice to get butter with the bread slice. read more

Not worth getting anyone in trouble or to waste gas returning but I ordered a caesar salad yesterday and a chicken ranch and they mixed the dressing up on the two salads I purchased. It was a costly, unenjoyable salad when it isn't what you ordered. I won't be back any time soon for fear of another mix up. TG I don't have any food allergies but I did repeat the order to the young woman making them and I didn't see what dressings she was using as they were both the same color. read more

I seemed to have a similar experience as others. My wife and I ordered the same thing on the app: Harvest Bowl with Chicken. The only difference is she ordered cauliflower rice and I got the grains. When we got home with our order, we were highly disappointed in the portion size of the bowls. There was barely any chicken, and while mine had a decent amount of grains, hers had barely any rice, which has a big upcharge. The chicken we did get was stringy dark meat. Is white meat not even an option? They should tell you this when ordering as most people would assume a salad place would serve the healthier white meat. Also, we each ordered bread but got only 1 piece, which was a half piece of very dry sourdough. Was that meant to be shared? We probably should have gone back to complain, but they seemed too busy when I picked up the order. The app also does not let you order fountain drinks or canned soda, and when I asked for a cup, they said there would be a charge for it. I know they are new, but they have a lot to work on. Hopefully they fare better than Saladworks did, but definitely not a good first impression! read more

We were looking forward to this new restaurant opening, because it looked like it would be fresh and healthy food. We had dinner there tonight for the first time, and I am disappointed to say it wasn't good at all. My husband had the Cobb salad and I had the Palm Beach. The white balsamic dressing, which we both chose, was not good. (I couldn't explain why.) But mainly, the two bowls contained a huge amount of mostly darkened, not-fresh, chopped romaine lettuce. Most of what was in the bowl looked like the wilted, ugly and tough, outer lettuce leaves. These are the outer leaves that I personally remove from a head of lettuce and throw away when I am making a salad at home. There were virtually NONE of the inner, tender, more sweet leaves one finds in the heart of the head of lettuce. I don't know what they do with those, but they aren't serving them chopped in their bowls of salad. So I was turned off from the get-go. There was a tiny amount of both the chicken pieces and avocado (all clumped together, so it was only tasted in one bite). There were enough hearts of palm and halved tomatoes for my taste. I thought it was really nice when we were offered free slices of bread to go with our salads. Unfortunately, the bread was totally stale and inedible. They would have been better off cutting them up and calling them "croutons". They were that stale. We were glad to be able to sit outside on a nice summer evening. Another couple were sitting there with their son and their dog, eating pizza from a different restaurant. They definitely had the right idea, IMO. Maybe Chopt has some kinks to get out of their system. They just recently opened, after all. Maybe I'll give them another try sometime. I will wait a long time. read more

I walked in and there was 2 groups in front of me a couple and a family of 4. Yet I still stood in line for 25mins before even getting to start my order. Just before it was my turn the man behind the counter ran outside to go get something from his car and told me to wait one second and then ran back in while the other employee was still in there not doing anything. There were two employees working when I was there they both kept switching on and off taking a salad, and while One was doing a salad, the other was outside, the lady behind me who walked in about 10 minutes after me, looked at me and laughed because we saw the man run outside after knowing people have been waiting for so long. She asked me how long I have been waiting and I told her and she left, because of how crazy it was. When the man then came back in and he saw the family behind me leaving, he did a fist pump to congratulate the fact that he had less people to now serve. They were extremely rude in there and did not care about peoples time, and I even heard one guy blame it on the food industry, when it was quite clearly, the fact that they did not care and were understaffed and both employees that were working kept going outside in their cars doing nothing. Would not recommend. I waited 25 minutes for a basic salad that's overpriced. read more

I've been going here since they opened. Food is good, but STAFF is consistently rude, they seem so unbothered by every customer interaction. One girl was out working by herself with a line, she was polite and said she would be right with me. She went and grabbed what seemed like a female manager, she came out laughing on the phone (her personal AirPods), looked at me, and said "what do you want". She threw together my salad with barely any toppings in it that I paid 15 bucks for. She gave me 2 pieces of bread the size of a tortilla chip... again after paying 15 bucks for a SALAD. again, she was on the phone the entire time. I'm good on chopt. read more

Disappointed that the Newtown PA store doesn't offer the same menu as in NY or DC. Guess it had to be dumbed down for the staff to manage. Also, the value is not there! Can get a better salad at a number of other local places. When I walked in two employees, male & female were overly loud. They weren't working but seemed more like they were flirting. Not sure how long this place will survive but the menu needs to be expanded & employees need to be made aware they are at work and not high school. read more

Visited Chopt today for the first time. Staff was friendly, line moved very quickly ! Food was great quality and lettuce was crunchy and not wilted. Lots and lots of options !! Definitely recommend checking it out. Indoor and outdoor seating is great as well ! read more

The best customer service ever, I was enjoying my salad and then all of a sudden I began to choke on the toppings. I could not breathe but then two workers came to my rescue. The two workers gave me the heimlich and saved me from my own demise. I love Chopt. Yesterday it was raining pretty heavily, but I had to get my salad. I also tend to be very clumsy. Slipping and falling all the time. So, i'm on the way to the door and all of sudden the rain catches up to me, I start to fly. Now, I come here a lot. Some of the employees know me, Susan being one of them. She sees this happening and drops everything she's doing. Running outside and catching me, saving my life. Afterwards, she made the best salad i've ever had. read more

One & Done! My wife suggested we try Chopt for lunch earlier this week. Ordered take-out off their website. Not that the salads were "bad", they're just NOTHING like the pictures on-line show them to be. I chose the 2X chicken option for mine. Thank god I did...at least I was able to find a few pieces in there. Asks whether or not you want bread w/ your order and shows a picture of a roll (similar to what Salad Works gives you). What you get is a skinny piece of stale bread. I don't have an issue spending money on good food, especially in the Newtown area. But $32 for a couple of so-so salads? Nah!! read more

Clean and friendly, and you can get a fast dinner without feeling weighed down with a bunch of fried food. Get the Mexican Caesar, never thought a salad could taste this good. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area. read more
