Listing lower prices online only to add surprise fees is misleading, so I'd recommend asking about every charge beforehand. What made this worse is less than two weeks later my builder gel started separating from my natural nails and one completely popped off. During the appointment my nails were also burning badly under the UV light, which has never happened to me before despite getting builder gel regularly for the last 8 months. On Tuesday morning, 7 minutes after they opened, I tried calling again but the line was busy, so I left a voicemail. A few minutes later, someone from Bauhaus called me and I assumed they were calling me back to reschedule. Nope. They said that because I didn't cancel my appointment within 24 hours, they are billing me for 50% of the service I booked. I explained that I'd left a message via Vagaro and that I left a voicemail this morning. "You should have left a voicemail yesterday." Specific instructions to leave a voicemail instead of a Vagaro message aren't stated anywhere. I made multiple efforts in good faith to reschedule my appointment and let the salon know that I would not be making my 10am today. "I can't rebook you until you've paid the 50% cancellation fee." That's a shame. I have no problem paying the fee if it will be applied as a credit to my next service, but paying it as a penalty when the salon's booking systems don't support its cancellation/rescheduling policy is deeply unfair.
