    Fruit Boba Green Tea
    Aja H.

Stopped in with some co-workers for lunch. We were seated quickly. The staff were very friendly. I ordered the hibachi combo and green tea peach boba. Everything was good. The hibachi had really good flavor. Not to mention, the serving size for lunch was perfect. The boba tea was a little too sweet for my liking. However, there was just enough boba. All in all, I'd come back and try something different.

Delicious ramen open late! I got the miso ramen and it was tasty. The broth was rich and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The service was great and my food came out in a timely manner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a good amount of seating and parking available as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A must try!

This is an all-around solid location for ramen. I give it four stars because the broth, noodles, and toppings weren't the best of what I've tried compared to other locations but they were all decent making a well-rounded ramen bowl. They are also quite reasonably priced for the portion, which I appreciate. I did really enjoy their takoyaki, I really like the crunchier outer layer and the chunks of octopus, the sauces were spot on. As someone who had many takoyaki in Japan, I would order this dish from here again. Also kudos to their iced fruit tea, I was expecting something subtle tasting like flavored water but it was nice and strong and sweet like honey tea. At time of writing, it's complementary with lunch! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lastly, they have a bumping playlist :)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great spot to go to, we came here before heading to the nearby movie theater.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hope this helps!

Teriyaki Hibachi Combo with lots of veggies shrimp, steak and chicken

Picked up takeout and was greeted by a very friendly lady who offered me a glass of refreshing, fresh fruit tea. Ordered Teriyaki Hibachi Combo with lots of veggies shrimp, steak and chicken with fried rice. Excellent flavor. I recommend!

Service was phenomenal!! Our waitress was amazing! Very attentive and helpful with the menu items. Overall personally I thought the broths and noodles were okay. The appetizers were good though! We got the Takoyaki and Geso Yaki. The Takoyaki had big pieces of octopus. The Chow's Special Ramen broth was the best one out of all the broths. The curry ramen was very watery. The restaurant was very clean!

I hate these 3 star posts I really do, but there I am. For the record I'm still searching for amazing ramen in the Phoenix valley. I have been striking out. This place was on the way home and had 4.6 stars so we said let's try it! We called in our order and the employee in the phone was very nice. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, we also ordered some steamed dumplings for the kids. The restaurant is in a strip mall and when I walked In it was very clean, modern, and had a lot of people in it. As I walked to the front the food looked good. I was excited. The Togo order was packaged well, and was still very hot by the time we got home. I opened up the ramen and this is when red flags started to go up. I have no idea why local area ramen places do not use RAMEN NOODLES!! They can call these "straight ramen noodles" but in reality this is thin spaghetti noodles. These noodles were soggy, no chew, no flavor, just straight up Italian pasta noodles. So so disappointing. Even an instant ramen noodle would be a 100000% improvement over these, but no, we get this. The broth was ok, wasn't great. It was thin and watery with no viscosity. Didn't coat the noodles and just sat at the bottom of the bowl. It was salty and had a little pork flavor but nothing amazing. I couldn't tell you if it was an instant broth or if it was homemade, but it was lacking. The Chasu was actually pretty good, it was fatty, lightly crisp, but moist on the inside, and had good flavor, it had a slight five spice flavor which was nice but unexpected. The egg was pretty good as well. Overall I will be passing this place without stopping which is sad. The hunt continues for an amazing ramen spot that uses actual ramen noodles ‍

A great ramen place, probably one of my top in my list! I've been here before and it's always been good. Thai tea is yummy, it's very sweet(we got with no ice nor boba). Curry ramen has a really great broth and the Takoyaki is super tender and fried. The server was super nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love the atmosphere inside and they have really great chopsticks![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd keep them and reuse!! #sustainability

Great little Raman restaurant, they have Raman, boba, chow ming, fried rice and hamachi dishes. They have pretty good Raman,l for the price, a lot of them are about 13$ which is pretty cheap. The service is fast and they are nice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is a small little restaurant which lots of tables for seating and it's nice and neat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Ramen was delicious and beautiful. The owner was probably doing it all - server and cook - but he is warm and friendly. Please check this place out. Support a small local business.

    8. Vegan Ramen
    Kassie L.

Ordered take out for lunch online. Ordering system worked well and I got a text to pick up when it was ready. The vegan ramen was excellent. Probably the best vegan/vegetarian broth I've had from nearby options. Spring rolls were also very solid. The interior is small but cute and clean though they have really overpowering air fresheners. It's really unusual to encounter this in food establishments as it interferes with taste for people who are dining in. As someone with a fragrance allergy, I would never be able to pop in to Chow's for more than a second to grab takeout.

A pleasing surprise. It's difficult to find high-quality Asian food and this was excellent. Fresh ingredients and great flavors. The egg rolls were beautifully crispy and the ramen was very flavorful.

Started eating before I took the photo.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little shop that has vibes of a hibachi restaurant back home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Got the combination plate. (Steak, Chicken, Shrimp) Decent portion size. Sauce was very flavorful. For someone who isn't a veggie eater, the sauce complimented very well with the veggies served. Great service. Quick in and out with a satisfying meal.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing service, super great food, and cozy atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the gyoza and edamame appetizers which were delicious. Then followed up with the Steak Hibachi and Tonkatsu Ramen for dinner! I had the ramen and it was phenomenal! This was honestly my first time trying ramen like this anywhere so thank you for the amazing experience!

The quality of the food was disappointing. The meat and shrimp were overcooked, which made all of the proteins very dry.

One minute I was savoring beautifully prepared sashimi, and the next I was mentally transported back to middle school by a nostalgic hit from Beyoncé or Ciara. Somehow, it worked perfectly, and shoutout to whoever came up with this Throwback Saturday playlist! We sat at a table in the back and were served by Matt, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable. He prepared a special omakase list and thoughtfully guided us through the course order, explaining each dish and its preparation along the way. I always appreciate when someone takes the time to share the story behind the food. He truly knew his stuff and was incredibly accommodating, especially since they don't normally offer an actual omakase course during lunch. That personal touch made the entire experience feel much more memorable. One thing that stood out was the variety of preparations and the rotating menu, which keeps things exciting for repeat visits. Every course felt intentional rather than repetitive. The agedashi tofu was hands down the best I've ever had! It was perfectly crisp on the outside, silky on the inside, and sitting in a wonderfully balanced broth. The carpaccio was light, fresh, and flavorful, while each piece of nigiri showcased high-quality fish with excellent technique. One of my favorite surprises was the hamo tempura. Hamo, also known as pike conger, is considered a seasonal delicacy in Japan, especially around Kyoto during the summer. I had never tried hamo before, and I probably wouldn't have ordered it on my own, but I'm so glad Matt included it. It was incredibly delicate, lightly sweet, perfectly crispy, and unlike any fish I've had before. Learning about the history and craftsmanship behind it made me appreciate it even more. And then there was the ocean trout. To quote Matt, the best description is: "It's like salmon with a PhD in deliciousness." I absolutely loved the buttery texture and rich flavor, and it absolutely slapped (my attempt to use slang ). He wasn't wrong! Shimogamo delivers not only excellent food but also an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. Between the attentive service, thoughtful explanations, the rotating menu, and the unexpectedly nostalgic soundtrack, it was a meal I'll happily remember. We also learned they occasionally host unique dinner experiences, such as cutting up an entire tuna or special Sumo Sushi events. Since both the menu and featured items rotate, there's always something new to discover, which gives me yet another reason to come back.

They offer a nice variety of Japanese dishes, but we were definitely here for the ramen. I ordered the spicy miso ramen, and it came out just right--perfectly spicy with fish cake, green onions, and all the toppings. It was delicious and hit the spot. The tonkotsu ramen had a nice creaminess to it, but it could've used a bit more depth of flavor. One thing I really liked is that you can order side appetizers along with your entrée, almost like building your own bento-style meal. We went with the deep-fried gyoza and gyudon. The gyudon was a standout--definitely five stars. The gyoza, however, was just okay for me.
