I've been here many time. I had the dynamite roll today. It was fine. Not amazing. The gibbon roll was delicious. The Boston was pretty good. The crab Rangoon wasn't very good. We came in here a few nights ago when I was craving sushi. Upon entering, I was a little taken aback by how cluttered and messy the restaurant was. There was only one couple eating which also made me nervous. We ordered chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna roll and Ginban roll. The chicken teriyaki was decent; however, the rolls were terrible. They tasted fishy -- I couldn't eat them. The spicy tuna roll was bright red, as if they just doused the tuna in a bunch of sriracha to attempt to cover up the fishiness. The Ginban was just as fishy even with all of the junk sauces drenched on top. The ingredient list on the menu didn't include a crab stick in this roll but that's what I got. Just awful. This was the most disappointing sushi I have had probably ever, and I have eaten at many sushi restaurants. Run far away.

Ramen was fine, but both quantity and quality of the sushi had dropped. The rolls were good, but the fish on the top were small, thin slivers which in the past was not the case. The most disappointing was the sushi and sushi combo. The sushi was mostly rice, ratio to fish was terrible, there was no himachi / yellowtail, looks like the substituted white fish, the pieces overall were small, and quality wasn't very fresh. It wasn't fishy, rather it had no taste. It was a disappointment. 3 stars is giving them the benefit of the prior times I've gone, but if it's like this again then I'll update to 2 stars.

I was craving sushi and saw this place close by that had good reviews. Had my hopes up, but the food was just kinda ..eh. The fish was a little fishy, which isn't good when it comes to sushi. The restaurant was a little cluttered too. The staff was friendly though though. Doubtful I'd try it again.

My wife and I have been looking for a new sushi spot since the closure of Sakura last year, and on Monday decided to try Ginban Sushi in Chandler. I'm glad we did. We had an excellent experience. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Horrible disgusting nasty dont eat here. Everything is tasteless and has ZERO FLAVOR! The sushi is BLAND .. the beef terriyaki is a steak that taste old and in a wet sauce.. not thin strips like a normal teriyaki.. This is my absolute favorite sushi place!!! everything is delicious and fresh!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]tonight I got some takeout for a lovely dinner out on the patio!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] thank you so much!! There was only one couple eating which also made me nervous. We ordered chicken teriyaki, spicy tuna roll and Ginban roll. The chicken teriyaki was decent; however, the rolls were terrible. They tasted fishy -- I couldn't eat them. The spicy tuna roll was bright red, as if they just doused the tuna in a bunch of sriracha to attempt to cover up the fishiness. The Ginban was just as fishy even with all of the junk sauces drenched on top. The ingredient list on the menu didn't include a crab stick in this roll but that's what I got. Just awful. This was the most disappointing sushi I have had probably ever, and I have eaten at many sushi restaurants. Run far away. read more

I'm really disappointed in this establishment lately. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Screaming toddler running around (owners kid), barely mediocre customer service, expensive low grade sushi.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's never busy and somehow the wait and service is dreadful. I want better for this place, I truly do, the people have always been nice and I know it's a family business. However the quality does not match the price anymore. read more

First time. Food was good. A lot of variety. Prices are reasonable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]However, the owners have their young (4 yrs?) running around the restaurant with no supervision. The little boy was bothering customers, tugging on their arms, taking items from the tables and touching drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you need to bring your children to work, then please keep them busy in the back room. It was unprofessional. We cut our dinner short and probably won't be back. The owner/mother did give us a percentage off our dinner which was appreciated but the experience wasn't pleasant. read more

This place is a hidden gem! The sushi is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Plus, the prices won't break the bank. Oh my word!! We didn't know their rolls were going to be so big or we wouldn't have ordered so much. Lol. Great mistake to have!! Every last roll was super good. To be honest, I don't remember what we ordered but, they were all worth it. They each carried such umami flavor and hit every single taste bud! We ordered to go. The only downside was, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get our order. Had we known this would have been the timeframe, we would've placed the order well in advance. I don't know why the rating is so high. I wasted a lot of money on dinner. I eat sashimi wherever I go and the fish they gave me reeked. I tried to power through but I had to stop. The quality of fish is horrible here. The high rating brought me here but never again. read more

i was a huge fan of this restaurant until march of this year when i got the worst food poisoning of my life. the night of the (last) time i got food from here, i threw up multiple times with a 104 degree fever. i haven't come back since because now i'm scared and i don't really like sushi as much anyway. the food is good, but be careful what you order and trust your gut if something seems off. if you can, sit at the bar and watch them make your sushi so you can see if they don't wash the cutting board after putting fish on it or something. read more

TLDR: Our service was fast and friendly. Prices were surprisingly cheap. Food was lower quality but fresh. Ordered the Calamari appetizer, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Salmon Sushi Roll, and salmon Nigiri Sushi. The Calamari looked like the kind you buy frozen and heat in the oven. It sat on a littering of colorless shredded lettuce. However it tasted like it was fresh from the oven so no complaints but I wouldn't order it again. The rice in all the sushi was mushy. Loved the shrimp tempura but it was kind of bland. Everything was kind of bland actually but the salmon was fresh so it was good enough for me. I think the great service, cheap prices, and salmon is what bumped it up to 4 stars for me. read more

Ate in with a friend and the place was empty. Always makes me a little nervous, but I stayed positive. Sure glad I did! Ordered the garlic edamame, Spicy Girl roll, Ginbon roll, and the Red Dragon roll. Spicy Girl is a must order and was our favorite, hands down. Overall, the food was great. Tasted fresh and very flavorful. Would love to see some happy hour offerings. Server was kind and very attentive. Overall great food, good experience and we will be back! read more

It wasn't terrible but the shrimp tempura was so heavily breaded that the shrimp just slid right out, leaving a huge shell behind. Would have been nice for the veggies to at least have a dash of salt and pepper before frying. However, the portions were quite generous. You get a lot for the price, including miso soup and a side salad. Ordered 2 rolls. The King Lobster roll was pretty good but then again just about anything with eel sauce is. The Ginban roll I can't really review. I'm not a fan of the devil's jelly (Mayo). I shouldn't have ordered it. I couldn't get past one bite, the spicy Mayo was quite dominant. I ordered beef yakisoba (stir fried noodles) for lunch. It was quite good. They were very generous with the beef and all of the vegetables were fresh and cooked perfectly. I saw a lot of ordered going out the door and the sushi looked very well prepared and quite fresh. I will be ordering some nigiri very soon and will update my review. Stopped in after a hard workout and was absolutely famished! We were seated right away which was great and then ordered calamari and I also got a shrimp tempura and California roll (my staples). The service was crazy slow after we ordered. Took forever just to get water. The calamari was super rubbery and tasted terrible when it finally came and the horrible experience didn't stop there. I saw on the menu the shrimp tempura comes with lettuce which I'm unfortunately not a fan of and asked if I could please get it without. Course my food comes and there's lettuce. I was pretty exasperated and the server did nothing to help so I basically had a deconstructed sushi roll because it all fell apart. Needless to say.. it's in a strip mall-ish area with two other sushi options.. we will likely be going to the others. read more

The mood was initially quiet but quickly turned more up beat as the restaurant filled and pop rock music was playing. We asked our waiter a few questions about a few of their rolls and he was very helpful with guidance and recommendations. We ordered Salmon Lemon, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado Maki and California rolls to share for two. This restaurant uses purple rice rather than traditional white rice. This was the first time we have tried a sushi roll made with purple rice and we both loved it. It added a nutty flavor and hearty texture. Purple rice is similar to wild rice and far nutritionally superior to white rice with more antioxidant and fiber. Shortly after we ordered we were served a potsticker dish. I mentioned that we did not order the item and were informed the appetizer was complementary. We thanked the server and tasted the dish. The potstickers were nicely pan fried and had a great crust and flavorful chicken filling. Delicious! About five minutes later our rolls were delivered. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorite was the Salmon Lemon roll. We loved the pop the lemon added. Honorable mentions to the Spicy Tuna roll, very well done, excellent balance of heat and flavors. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a quality sushi experience!

It was topped with poke, and we would not let them take the plate until we'd scooped up every little morsel! Cocktails and service were excellent as well. You could tell just how short staffed they were and you could hear that there's only 1 sushi chef 1 regular chef and that's it for the kitchen. I don't know who is managing the shift schedule, maybe it's because we came on Memorial Day, but this type of service is not acceptable. I don't take this on the employees at all. They were so incredibly nice and apologetic and doing the best they can and even the front of house was now bussing tables to help out!!! Because they're so busy, I had to keep reminding different waiters for small things like ginger for my sushi 3x, refill on my water, and he almost said we're good to go without paying the check but we didn't even receive our cheesecake dessert yet OR paid the bill.
