My daughters and I came here for a girls night on Friday. There was no wait but the place was busy. We ordered the sushi special which was $38 for three rolls and three Nigiri. The sushi was fresh delicious I love the variety of options to choose from it happened to be somebody's birthday while we were in there and they had these fun lights and a birthday song for the birthday party person overall, our experience was really great. The service was excellent when we were leaving every single person that worked there said goodbye to us. It felt very much like a family run establishment where they just genuinely cared about their customers. I cannot wait to come back here next time I'm in Phoenix.

Delicious! We had seaweed salad, egg rolls, the ocean roll, shrimp tempura, calamari roll and, the steak teriyaki dinner. The steak teriyaki was amazing and had so much steak!. Rolls were delicious, staff was super friendly! Will certainly go back soon to try other rolls.

I love this place when I'm on this side of town! They have amazing ginger dressing! My friend and I shared sushi and an ocean crab roll. Delish and so fresh! I love how Chef Mido always remembers my name when I walk in!

I've had a roller coaster ride with Mido, but overall, I continue to return as the quality of the sushi I get is on point. They do have a wide selection of sushi on the menu so you can easily find something that you're looking for. The staff here is always friendly & at one point I remember they would remember me as I used to come in 2 to 3 times a week but over the years, I just haven't had that much free time. The lunch menu is good, but consider that its heavy with rice related sushi items. The lunch deal is worth it. I'm a big sashimi fan so I don't really get to take advantage of it, but it never disappoints and seems fresh. If you are with the group of friends, it's really great as you can order one of the large boats to enjoy your sushi with everything there and it gives you a chance to try a variety of different things.

Meeting some friends here for lunch. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by some friendly ladies that told me to pick any table. Once seated, one of the ladies came over with menus, ordering sheets and offered to get me a drink. After my friends showed up, another lady took their drink orders and shortly followed up to see if we were ready to order. We opted for their Yellowtail Kamas each, edamame, pop sushi (it doesn't contain any rice), and their tempura luncheon special (includes 3 pieces of nigiri sushi, California roll and huge portions of their veggie tempura and shrimp tempura). Everything came out fairly quickly. You will not go away hungry. This places has one of the largest pieces of Kama I have ever received. It's a small to medium size establishment with everyone being friendly and professional.

Mido is one of my favorite traditional Japanese restaurants in the area! It is in southern Tempe, technically Chandler but it's worth the drive if you aren't located in Chandler. The staff is very friendly and the sushi chefs are super welcoming. I love to go for their Happy Hour and load up on sushi! I have tried every roll on their lunch menu and just have to say that you can not go wrong. The Tempe Roll (middle) is my favorite fried roll, and the Pancho roll is my favorite non-fried roll. I hope you get to give this place a try!

If you order enough sushi, it comes on a boat!

Best happy hour pricing for a sushi place that I've found in the valley and not to mention how much sushi and the fantastic quality of fish. The authenticity speaks for itself when seeing the menu and the service is realistic for hand made rolls. The establishment is casual which is super nice and convenient for good sushi and they have several tvs with sports playing which was great too.

This is the best sushi in the east valley. There I said it and I stand by it. I might go to another place when I am traveling and I always feel like I am cheating on Pancho. If you are in the east valley, this is a must stop for some great food.

Presentation of the food 5/5 Taste 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Delicious sushi with great customer service. Price is very reasonable as well. The owner Bo is also the sushi chief, he has boundless energy with great enthusiasm. This is a small family business, everyone is helping the restaurant including wife, daughter and son-in-law. Everyone dedicate to make the restaurant dinning experience the very best. Overall amazing food and great service, definitely recommend!

Really sweet staff, but that's about it. The ambiance is kind of drab. I wouldn't classify it as nice or welcoming. The sushi tasted plasticky and old. The gyoza tasted extremely fishy. There's not much that I enjoyed about this meal. I didn't finish it because it wasn't fresh or tasty, and don't recommend it here. Gyoza Sunshine roll Chance roll Pop roll Special roll

Checked out this sushi/japanese restaurant on the recommendation from a friend. The restaurant had plenty of tables but does get busy on the weekends. Service was average and the ambiance was your basic Japanese restaurant. We ordered gyoza and edamame as appetizers. The gyoza was deep fried almost to the point of not edible and the edamame was fine. I ordered the chicken teriyaki which took a long time to get (I don't know why) and it is a huge portion of chicken breast which was overcooked, with rice and a gelatin teriyaki sauce which had a nice flavor. My wife and son split a sushi boat. They said the rolls were good and my wife said the nigiri salmon and yellowtail were very good. I also ordered their jalapeño poppers and they were very good. Overall a good Japanese restaurant, nothing fancy but a good value for your dollar.

Its in a building at the edge of a strip mall so seems like plenty of parking. There's a fun light display with the logo outside the front door on the sidewalk. Inside is very cute! They've definitely made an effort on the ambiance. There's also a nice side patio that looks like it has bamboo shades to make it less "strip mall". The staff here are very warm and welcoming. Great service! Throughout our dinner and our long sitting and chatting after, our waitress was friendly, checking in and offering soda refills. We had the shrimp tempura -- really good! A friend had sushi and loved it (and comes here regularly), and the rest of us all had stir-fries, which were all very good. I ordered Mongolian beef and asked if they had chili oil and our waitress asked if I wanted it in the dish or on the side and I said both, which was no problem. This is a great neighborhood spot to enjoy a relaxed dinner (or lunch!) with friends (or yourself, whatever). It wasn't noisy and we felt very welcomed there. Food was great and its really a great option if you want sushi and others dont. They also have happy hour pricing on some of the appetizers, sushi and boba but I don't think they have alcohol. I can see why this place gets such high stars and will definitely be back.

The parking lot and restaurant were full which was a good sign. I ordered the Pork Belly Buns as an appetizer and my partner ordered the Shrimp Tempura. Both were very good, especially the Shrimp Tempura. For my entree, I ordered the Tantanmen Ramen and was beyond satisfied with my choice. The ramen was extremely flavorful and the marinated egg was the perfect addition, providing a slightly sweet taste. My partner ordered the Hot Spicy Ramen which was good but wasn't a favorite. Service was great, food was delicious, and prices were fantastic. We haven't been back yet but Bloomy Kitchen is definitely a place I would recommend.

Nestled in historic downtown Chandler, in the narrow sliver of Boston Street, the speak-easy themed cocktail bar and restaurant is located inside the former home of the Chandler Arizonan, the city's original hometown newspaper since 1912. With exposed brick walls and rich wood finishes, the historic site provides an upscale, contemporary urban and industrial-chic setting. After easily finding parking in walking distance from the entrance, we arrived shortly before midnight of the 7th. They were closing soon, but we had enough time to order a round of craftly-made cocktails and beers to down quickly. It helps when your friend knows the bartender. Enter smiley face emoji here. THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN is credited for the first place that I ever tried a CLOVER CLUB, a pink, frothy cocktail with fruity, citrusy, velvety qualities. I was instantly tickled pink, literally, by the nostalgic feel of the elegant concoction, topped with artfully designed egg white foam and served in a vintage-style champagne glass. What a beauty of a drink with a touch of class and sophistication! Almost made me want to throw on a flapper dress and dance the Charleston...until I realized the need to balance from the powerful punch in the serious drink. Fancy, stiff cocktails served at THE BRICKYARD DOWNTWON fo shizz. No complaints about that here! It's been a while since I visited Arizona. Maybe it's time to return. If/when I do, I will mos def drop by THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN again!

I may not be able to eat sushi anywhere else after this!…read more I came for the Restaurant Week lunch deal and am so glad I finally made it here. Everything from service to ambiance to food was excellent. And I love that they brought lunch service back to this location! Friday, Saturday, Sunday only and still make a reservation! It was busy! I wanted something fun to drink but non-alcoholic, so the bartender stopped by to help me decide. I got the Miso Sour and it was so good! This had a nice balance of flavors. I started with the Hamachi Crudo which has grapefruit ponzu, lemon mayo, Serrano pepper, and thin cucumber slices. This was so good! Refreshing with just the right amount of spice. Next I enjoyed chopped salad and miso. The salad was very fresh and had a variety of goodies including edamame, purple cabbage, and avocado. The miso is so good!! It was delicate and yet so flavorful. I chose the Yuzu tuna roll option which has spicy tuna and avocado inside, with big eye tuna on top, garnished with micro cilantro, red onion, and yuzu. This was so good! I also thought their ginger stood out - I would bet they make this in house. I can see why this always has such great reviews!

My boyfriend and I came to Shimogamo for Mother's Day and ordered the five-course meal. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing compared to our previous visit. The biggest issue was the service. Our waitress, an older woman, came across as dismissive and unnecessarily rude throughout the evening. When we were seated, she offered complimentary rosé. I accepted a glass, but my boyfriend does not drink alcohol, so he politely asked if he could order a mocktail instead. Before he could even finish, she abruptly responded, "No, you can wait to place an order for that," as if he was trying to substitute the complimentary drink, which he was not. He was simply trying to order a beverage. Later, when the braised beef course was served, my boyfriend politely asked if he could have a spoon or fork. The waitress loudly repeated "A SPOON?" in a mocking tone in front of nearby guests, which made the interaction uncomfortable and embarrassing. As for the food, the five-course menu was average at best and far below what we expected from Shimogamo. The salmon tartare and sushi course were both excellent and showed the quality we remembered from our first visit. However, the remaining courses fell flat. The fried branzino was dry and seemed poorly prepared, despite the promising flavors of capers and cream sauce. The braised short rib felt completely out of place on the menu and lacked refinement it was dry, heavy, and more reminiscent of a chain steakhouse meal than an upscale dining experience. The entire dinner also felt rushed, with little attention to pacing or hospitality. What makes this especially disappointing is that we dined here back in November on a double date and had an incredible experience. We spent over $600 that evening, and the service and food were exceptional. Our waitress at that time was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. She guided us through recommendations, and every dish impressed us. That's why this visit was so surprising. Shimogamo clearly has the ability to provide an outstanding dining experience, which makes the decline in both service and execution even more concerning. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because this restaurant was once one of our favorites.
