Angela is an extremely attentive and charming bartender. I wandered in since it was the nearest open establishment during an episode of low blood sugar. Angela was kind enough to serve me a soda immediately and chatted with me while I had it. She informed me of her community events, which I will be sure to attend in the future! He seemed to know all the "regulars" and their drink orders; and he treated me like a "new regular". Guess what? I will be. We've been wanting to visit the Harbor bar for awhile now. The Belmont cafe and Mexican restaurant on the street are already great escape from boring overpriced Laurel. Some friends drove in from Arizona and we had a great time! Super friendly bartender Stellar Steve was great! The bar was clean and spacious with 2 pool tables. Beers on draft were only 5 bucks and they had a massive tv which has got to be awesome for sports games. We played music on digital jukebox and pool excited about the new find. The great news is you need snacks you just walk next door. We will definitely be going back! read more

Always a great time! Full bar and nice folks. Gave it four stars because they only take cash however, there is an ATM machine in there for a fee. Since they don't serve food they do allow you to bring food /order in which is cool. If you bring your dog they will allow you to bring chairs outside which is very nice. read more

I went here on Thursday August 12, 2021 10:00pm'sh. KJ Jess was throwing a karaoke gig, since it's nearby, I decided to come to support him. I ordered a heinenken, corona, pacifico, cider for $5 each, kamekaze and jameson/coke back for $7 each, reasonable prices versus other bars, this female bartender is courteous/she had the correct technique in making the kamekaze, well balanced. She told me they don't use raw eggs for whisky sour, because of safety reasons. I sang only two songs since I arrived late and his gig ends at 11:30pm. The New Harbor is a solid bar as they come. TNH - is really popular with different sets of crowds for an after work Friday happy hour. You get the blue collar city workers in their orange vests. You get some white collar Oracle types - nothing promotes team synergy than some good 8 ball (2 tables). Then you have the regulars of the Harbor just sittin' by the dock of the bay, wasting time. Great place to hang out !!!!!! I frequent this place quite often and I always have a great time, The prices during Happy Hour are quite CHEAP! George the bartender during the weekdays is a cool dude, knowledgeable about boxing & loves reggae. Sometimes his mom, who is the owner, is there - real cool lady! The beer/booze selection is great & I really like coming in on Thurs. & Fri. during the lingerie shows. The patrons are a mixed crowd of blue/white collar people getting off work and are friendly. The Harbor has one of the best jukeboxes I have ever seen with a range of classic rock, reggae, hip-hop, r&b, alternative, country & classic crooners. I also really like coming to the great live reggae shows here. I have seen some of the bay area's top bands during the years such as Native Elements, Dub Fx, Strictly Roots, Dub Nation, Root Awakening & many more! Beer was cheap ($4 for Fat Tire on draft) - fun atmosphere with pool tables, pinball, and several TVs including one giant projection screen. Daily specials listed on a board - last night was $2.50 Coors bottle, $4.25 Tom Collins, and something about a martini. Yep, I liked it. Went on a hot summer afternoon to listen to some reggae bands for a benefit they were having, it was dark inside but I didn't mind because they had speakers on the patio. I really like this place! Family vibes in there and always make me feel welcomed. It's exactly what a dive bar should be: cheap drinks, great sounding jukebox, friendly people and safe. They also feature sports all the time and monthly music. My favorite is their monthly reggae party which they feature the best reggae bands and djs in the Bay Area! If you looking for a cool place to chill I highly recommend this spot!...sidenote: I really don't get those negative reviews either. Sounds a bit like some malicious doings if you ask me. So my cousin and I went to this bar we usually go to on Monday. The regular bartender Nick was not working. It was some other bartender. Anyways, before we can sit down she walks up to us and says "ladies I can't serve you" I asked "why?" she tells me "I can't serve you islanders!" She tells us there was an incident last week with "islanders" where one of their bartender was injured and she is ordered by "police" to not serve any islanders. We were just there Friday and was treated like any other customer. When I asked "if this was the reason, why didn't the other bartender kick us out on Friday". She replied "oh he didn't know." We had nothing to do with what the other "islanders" that week. The fact that she refused to serve anyone who looked Poly was just ridiculous. In addition, it showcases just how alive racism is and how the negative stereotypes of minorities are deeply embedded through people's perspective. You do not just meet one person that is an islander and assume that they are violent! and that goes the same way for other minorities. I know that if I was a caucasian person, the bartender would not have come up to me and asked me to leave because " an incident last week with caucasians ". This is injustice! I'll start off my review with a caveat - when I came here, I wasn't really in the mood to be out anyway, much less at a dive bar. Came here around 10 on a Saturday night a couple of weeks ago as my boyfriend knew someone that would be playing in one of the bands that night. The place was pretty full when we arrived, but luckily some other group was leaving just as we got there so I snagged their table. Had a good view of the "stage" area. While the music wasn't bad (think 90s top hits cover songs), I prefer to listen to bands that come up with their own stuff. Also, I didn't see a dedicated parking lot for this bar so ended up parking across the street. Not usually a big deal but being that this place is literally off the 101 and there are cars that are coming off/on the freeway at all times makes it very difficult for you to safely cross the street (there's no pedestrian crosswalk.) What made me give this place 2 instead of 3 stars was that you also have to pay a cover to get in. This is not a place worth paying a cover for just to get a really basic beer and listen to some wannabe rockers. read more

Straight up neighborhood bar that is nothing special from the outside. I have been in the neighborhood for half a decade and always heard about the Harbor but never came. Finially stopped in and could not have been happier. Not too crowded, drinks are cheap. $5 bucks for a kettle one and tonic. I go to the Harbor on Tuesdays for Tanked Tuesday... I always have fun and leave wanting to go back. I love the atmosphere and the people. Samira the bartender is great. She makes great drinks and has a great personality. Its really busy so don't expect to get a drink right away... When you do double fist it!!! If you are expecting first class and super clean do not go here. The prices are fair... If you want a drink after work do not go on Tuesdays...
