Dive, casual, relaxed, chill, no drunkards, happy, overall comfortable. Beers and ciders. In and outdoor seating. Great service. Fridge near entrance for cans, too.

There are not a lot of places open late in downtown San Carlos so Ale Arsenal was an obvious choice after having dinner with some friends at the Refuge next door. It was not very crowded on a Sunday night with plenty of bar space for our party of 6. Pretty good selection of local beers on tap at a fair price. I love that they serve the glass-bottled Mexican Coca Cola here too. The noise level from the music was loud enough where you can still have a conversation with friends without yelling. Friendly service and clean.

We went to ale Arsenal for years. Then we had a kid and they said you are not welcome anymore Dog are ok, but no kids.

Best beer bar in the Peninsula, and that's not hyperbole. I've been drinking amazing beers at Ale since 2013 and it's still my favorite bar in the area. Constantly amazing selection, super knowledgeable and friendly staff, even has a superb bottle selection at Fair prices. Note that there is no food, but the bar is super friendly with takeout food (Get a cheesesteak from the Refuge next door and bring it in the bar). If you just want fantastic beer, this is the place to go.

Quality beer and chill spot to have a drink

Just a friendly great little spot to try one of several types of beers they have on tap that day. I consider this spot a fun place to meet up with friends for a quick drink before you go somewhere else for dinner. Noticed several people brining their dogs into the bar. Small and really chill spot.

There's a reason people from all over the Peninsula make the trip to this Irish pub on weekend…read morenights. it's become one of the few places in San Carlos that truly feels like nightlife. By day, it's warm, welcoming, and family-friendly. You'll see families enjoying dinner, friends catching up over drinks, and locals stopping in for great food and hospitality. But once Friday night hits, the entire atmosphere transforms. The lights dim, the music turns up, the dance floor fills, and the energy becomes something you'd expect to find in a much bigger city. Friday nights bring a fun mix of crowds; from younger groups looking for DJs, dancing, cocktails, and nightlife energy, to older guests enjoying the live music, atmosphere, and social vibe. Honestly, I'm a little older myself and still absolutely love the younger, high-energy scene here. It's fun, welcoming, and never feels out of place no matter your age. That's what makes this place so unique. Everyone fits in and everyone has a great time. Then Saturdays bring a completely different experience with live artists and an incredible variety of music. One weekend you'll hear young country performers getting the crowd singing along, and the next you'll find authentic Irish fiddlers creating that classic pub atmosphere everyone loves. That variety is what keeps people coming back..every weekend offers something different and memorable. The food is outstanding, the beer and cocktail selection is excellent, and the hospitality is second to none. I finally had the chance to meet Molly, the owner, and it's easy to see why this place has built such a loyal following. Her passion for creating a place where everyone feels welcome shows in every detail. From the amazing service to the live entertainment and unforgettable atmosphere, this isn't just another local pub. It's become a destination spot and one of the true nightlife gems in San Carlos. Highly recommend checking it out, especially on the weekends.

I like the dark, green colors and of course they were playing some fun Irish pub music. The service was great, but we were also the only people in the pub besides the two people who were working. Today, I came in to try their Irish Breakfast and watch some Rugby! A traditional Irish breakfast must contain Black and White pudding (a ground sausage, oatmeal and spices), Irish sausage (tastes like a banger), Irish bacon (more like thinly sliced ham), eggs. and tomato baked beans. It's delicious! I hope they get more business though! I really like this place!

A clean and inviting environment with tons of seating in two rooms (the bar in the front room, classic dining tables in the back room), as well as outdoor lounge seating near the entrance. Giant TV's for watching sports, too (fifa world cup showing on this evening with volume on loud). They also do live music on some nights, though none this past Friday while I was there, even though it was listed on their website (beware you can't trust their online calendar). I got the house made sausage rolls appetizer, the savory meat wrapped in a light flaky puff pastry shell. I usually don't like mustard or horseradish sauce, but I ate everything in this dish and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also ordered the bread pudding (minus the guiness gelato). It took a whopping 20 minutes for this to be ready, and it was this tiny little thing, slightly overcooked, but delicious nonetheless. Wait times and service could have been better, but the taste of everything was pretty decent. Plus they offer such a delectable range of options on the menu... I gotta come back for their brunch items, especially the croissant french toast :)
