Allan was very responsive throughout the entire process, and was available to discuss services with him 15 minutes after submitting. Pricing and payment was transparent and a smooth process. The inspection report was very thorough with pictures and written in terms I could understand. Allan checked items I wouldn't have even considered and made several ongoing maintenance suggestions. He used a drone to inspect the roof, thermal cameras to inspect HVAC and insulation, electrical outlets, water systems, appliances, etc. Discovered several items I wouldn't have noticed (or at least not until they became serious issues). I felt as if Allan was inspecting the house from the perspective he was going to buy it himself, and left no stone unturned. Highly recommend DLB Check.

This was not an inspection -- it was a drive-by. He missed obvious, widespread tile floor cracks throughout the house, issues so visible it's hard to believe they were "overlooked" at all. When I asked him to come back and re-inspect his own miss, he had the nerve to say it would cost another fee. Because of this incompetent inspection, I lost $5,000 backing out of the home. This company didn't protect me, they cost me thousands. Total waste of time and money. This is a bullshit company with zero accountability. If you don't want expensive surprises after you're under contract, stay far away. You will absolutely regret hiring them. Never recommended.

I had (redacted) Home Roofing come by last week for a roof inspection and a quote. After 4 hours of convincing (torture), that roofing company was able get me to sign a contract for a new $49k roof. After some research on (redacted) home roofing, I canceled the contract the following day, but that experience left us shook. The inspection that Michael did was money well spent, and then some. Gave me the peace of mind that I did the right thing canceling that contract for a $49k unnecessary roof replacement, and he also offered some great advice regarding the settling of our home, foundation, and drainage.

It's a small place but seems quite equipped to manage a lot of car issues, and the gentleman who did my inspection that day (Charlie) was the sole person doing them, so he was cranking through a list of folks. They put your name on the clipboard when you arrive and just go straight down that list. I'd called beforehand to confirm their hours and theyd advised to come early so I came around 9a or so. I think the wait was about 15-20 mins? Really wasn't bad, I just fiddled with my phone and sat in my car. The actual inspection was also pretty fast, like 10 mins or maybe even a bit less. I appreciated the efficiency. Of note they do charge a 3% credit card fee. A lot of places do that nowadays, but that was really the only "surprise." They also offer a basic inspection ($12, basics to renew car reg) or a more thorough one for $18 where they check your wipers and lights etc.

Chris was very thorough and detailed in his approach to inspecting our new build. He walked us through each of his findings no matter how small or insignificant. He made sure we knew about them and didn't force his opinion about their insignificance, which we greatly appreciated as new homeowners. If we had any questions, Chris made sure to go through the process and even gave recommendations for maintenance. Even when we didn't have questions at the time, Chris stopped to ask us how we were feeling and if there's anything he could take us through so that we felt comfortable. Not only does Chris utilize the state inspection guidelines, but he also has his own software that extends on that for easy follow through so not only you can read through and interpret but more importantly, the builder. We provided this report to them and it was like going through a visual checklist. Chris spoke passionately about his work so it was incredibly easy to see he is vastly knowledgeable. He did find some things for us that our builder missed and gave us that confidence we were searching for and needed before we close. We are in the midst of new construction, framed, with roughed in plumbing, electrical and HVAC, and I suddenly realized that I didn't totally trust my builder. What to do? I called Chris, got an answering service with dogs barking in the background, but don't let that concern you - Chris is the real deal. This is my second go around having a house built. Chris came out the very next morning, apologized for being early (!), and two hours and a very reasonable fee later, after answering a lot of questions I had, and going through the house (and up onto the roof), had a full blown report ready for me to show to the builder. He caught some items (one glaring item), and gave me the comfort to know that my builder is actually doing a good job, and now I can sleep at night. It's a bonus that Chris is a nice guy. I WILL be bringing him out for the final inspection and I am totally confident that with his help I will get a house that is good to go in all respects. While this is new construction, I would bring him out in a heartbeat if I was purchasing an existing house. read more

Chris's communication prior to the inspection was clear and he arrived on-time (early actually) for the inspection. I am so glad I chose Chris Nowling to inspect my new home. I was able to set an appointment time good for me, he showed on time, was corteous, and gave me a printed detailed report before he left. Chris used an infrared camera for thermo imaging. He went page by page over his report with me and I gained a great understanding of my house. One of which is a VERY popular company which quoted me a price that was HUNDREDS dollars higher than Austinspect. Not just a 1 or 2, like $400. But I digress. I chose Austinspect and everything was great. They sent out Cedric and we interacted very well. He's very friendly and very knowledgeable, explained what was in good shape, what to look out for, what might not be an issue, and also how to maintain the house better if I am going to purchase it.
