The glass door was the original that came with the house 35 years ago. The rollers were completely shot and opening the door was a real challenge. I called Chris and set up an appointment . Chris arrived at the time that he had set up and went to work. He showed me how the rollers in the door were degraded and replaced them, He also to time to make sure the roller track was ok. The lock on our sliding glass door broke so I looked on Yelp to find a repair company. I read about a company from which to stay away (thanks Yelpers - I almost hired that company because I saw some of their ads). I found Chris' Sliding Glass Door Maintenance by way of a local ad and when I called him, Chris quoted prices over the phone. His prices were reasonable and we arranged a service appointment. When Chris made the repairs today he was true to his word - he charged me what he quoted and he arrived when he said he would. He saw damage to the track and explained that the door's roller needed replacement - this is why the door dragged and bumped up from the track when I opened/closed the door. I knew that the door was heavy and could feel and hear it dragging when I used it but it's been like that for so long that I didn't really think it was damaged. By the time he left the door track was in better shape than it's been in more than a decade and I no longer had to drag the door's weight to open/close the door. It glides now and the lock was replaced. He also installed a double bolt lock that I requested. (The double bolt lock prevents the door from being lifted off of the track and provides an easy-to-use safety feature to a door that's frequently used.) While the door's glass is coated in puppy licks, Chris cleaned the handle, track, insulation, and door frame - inside and out. He vacuumed the area so when he left everything looked good and worked well. Chris made sure the alarm worked (the door is wired to our security system) and that I fully understood what repairs were made, how to use the door/locks, and how to maintain the work (he provides a 3 year parts/labor guarantee). If only our dogs took such care to keep the door clean... Chris is very pleasant and professional - I would absolutely hire his company again.
