This past May, we visit again on the hunt for a belt. Our SA, Masayo-san remarks, "I remember you. I believe Lia was your SA." You can imagine the shock on my face that she remembered who I was from three years ago and she wasn't my SA at the time. Immediately, I felt so special. We didn't spend too much time there on our first visit that day since we were still deciding between two different brands. The next day, we decided on Prada and went in to purchase with Masayo-san. She was extremely patient with us on getting the right color and size for my partner. We also got to chat on a more personal level and took photos together. I will never forget this experience!

So I needed to return them. The next day, we returned to international market. We went to see what sort of pants can we find to exchange for the previous purchase. During our search this one security lady who looks like Laura Dern with short wavy red and burgundy hair said out loud, "Find everything alright?" We said yes. As we headed over to the register for check that security lady looked at us suspiciously. Casting at us a nasty look at us as if we did something wrong. Does Anthropologie know they have people like that working for them??? I love Anthropologie. I love their clothing and their lifestyle personal items. That was why it surprised me that I would seek out this familiar store at the mammoth Ala Moana Center. However, I had seen a local vlogger's YouTube video where he showcased the Hawaiian-exclusive clothing they sell here. Jamie W and I decided to drop by when we were at Ala Moana. Although not at the scale of the Tokyo Ginza flagship, it's one of the global chain's larger stores with an expansive multi-floor space. They offer the Brands Hawaiian Loco line, which is quite a distinct array of T-shirts spotlighting locally renowned businesses like Leonard's Bakery, Hawaiian Airlines, and Zippy's. I even bought one featuring a bowl of Zippy's saimin called Zipmin (Photo 4). I also really liked their line of aloha shirts because designs came from top quality Japanese block prints. I fell in love with one shirt based on Hokusai's "The Great Wave Off Kanagawa". I had never seen one like that before. They even offer opportunities to customize T-shirts and tote bags using exclusive designs from local artists. There's enough here to justify a shopping expedition. I was impressed with the store but more impressed with the service that Niki has provided. She was not pushy at all and was very attentive to my mom's requests. The pricepoint is a bit more affordable than other luxury houses, but that doesn't mean the quality is any less. In fact, I use my Burberry briefcase/messenger crossbody bag that I bought a few years ago as a daily work bag and it has held up quite well over time. There's very little signs of wear and I don't baby it at all. The aesthetic of their handbags are classy, clean, and chic - very minimalist. Besides handbags, they are also known for their classic trenchcoat, which some might argue should be a staple in your wardrobe. My recommendation: Don't be afraid to spend a little more. It's worth it here. Think of your purchase as an investment.
