I headed to the Ala Moana location in the Ewa Wing (my fave place since I helped coordinate the construction =) ) My husband, daughter, and I were greeted right away by a very welcoming young lady. Sorry I forgot her name. From the moment she greeted us with her welcoming smile to the end of our visit when she beautifully packaged my items, she provided exceptional Customer Service. The biggest plus about her is that no matter what decisions had to be made, she addressed them towards me and not just my husband. Very respectful, in my opinion. I have a collection of handbags, wallets, crossbody bags, and totes. So this time, I was looking for something out of my ordinary. My choice - the Uptown YSL Pouch in grained leather in Dark Beige and I also purchased the matching wallet to go with it. These definitely completed my ensemble for the event! She also brought us water while we were shopping and packaged my bag beautifully. Love coming back to this location. 3-18-2021, finally was able to fly to Honolulu again after the state lifted the restrictions to travelers. Got my camera beige bag this time! I must visit this store at least once a season. I have been stalking the key pouch for years since REGRETTABLY missing out on the pink one. It wasn't in store and I was being stubborn on shipping and losing out on the Hawaii price. Yes ladies, don't miss out on that 20% below online prices! Unless its a great sale at other departments stores, this is the best deal. Every visit, regardless if I buy something or not, every sales rep is very helpful. Although the store is on the smaller side, it always has everything in stock that I specifically go there for. I try to go in and spot exactly what I want... But everything is just so gorgeous! As much as I'd love to buy everything, we don't live that life. After finishing purchases, they walk you to the door and hand you your bag. In retail, that's just a nice, personal touch. During covid times, there's only a certain number of groups allowed in. I was still able to touch, wear and browse everything in the store. While finishing my purchase I did see employees wiping things down. Overall, I definitely love the brand and the products. This store itself is great as well. I haven't had an item from the YSL brand that I wasn't 100% satisfied with. Never any buyers regret here. First YSL purchase/experience and all the credit to Katy for such a positive experience. I don't buy designer often and am quite intimidated by it all, but I told Katy I was looking for something beige and she ran with it. She quickly pulled a couple staples and while I tried those on, she continued to pull other options. I appreciated that because she could've easily stopped at 2-3 bags but she went above and beyond to truly show me ALL my options. When I brought up my concerns (too long of a strap for my short torso), she provided ways to shorten the straps. Katy also didn't push additional items on me, even pointing out that I wont need a card holder because the purse came with card holder slots. I'm quite indecisive, but when I finally decided on a bag, she pulled it in the dark toffee color despite looking at beige the entire time and I ended up with her choice! Last Friday, my daughter and I had a shopping and lunch date. She's been itching to buy a luxury bag. She went to many stores in the past but she made a decision on the YSL chain bag. We were immediately greeted by Jianna. She approached my daughter and asked if she is looking for something in particular. I came here to buy a birthday present for my sister. This was my first time shopping in the boutique. As I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Yuri. I showed her a picture of the purse I wanted to buy my sister. She said they had it. She showed me it in the display case and let me try it on. She also explained all the beautiful detailing and elements of the bag. She grabbed me a brand new one from the back and made sure I was able to take a look before purchasing. Yuri was super helpful and made sure I had a wonderful experience. She again explained the special detailing with the signature YSL branding on the purse. She also told me about the local 20% off discount. This was definitely a plus! The store was clean with beautiful displays. I love this Saint Laurent location... whether I'm just in to browse or looking to make a purchase. I love their "puffer" style collection. There's just something about a puffy bag that I adore (lol). Anyhow, I visited YSL this past weekend when my man and I participated in Pokemon Go Fest. On Saturday, I was helped by Jianna. She showed me different variations of their puffer purses and explained details to me. I ended up coming back on Sunday to purchase a pouch. The one on display was the last one in the store, but it still looked brand new and Jianna cleaned it up in the back for me just in case. Over the next few days, I decided that I wanted something more for everyday-use... I already have a few evening pouches. I returned today to exchange my pouch for a larger puffer purse. The store was empty when I arrived and I was assisted right away by a nice man (who I didn't get his name). He took care of my exchange and assisted me with the purse I wanted. He was so patient as I tried on two different sizes and modeled them in the mirror. He also mentioned the best way to care for YSL purses (leather conditioner for calf skin). After I decided on the medium puffer, I was handed off to Katie who assisted me with checkout. She let me inspect the new purse she brought out from the storeroom to make sure it was good to go before ringing me up. Highly recommend. This review is based solely on my experience with Shaun. I've been to my fair share of luxury boutiques and I have to say Shaun's customer service blew me out of the waters. We like to dress casual when shopping and always come in with an item in mind. Some other employees at other boutiques may often throw judgment and ignore the casually dressed but not here. Shaun was the first to welcome my boyfriend and I when we came in and was very attentive to our needs. I was in the market for something for myself and a bag for my friend. I originally had my eyes set on an evening clutch but Shaun showed me this wallet on chain that can be worn crossbody and doubles as a clutch. I was sold. When it came to what I was purchasing for my friend, Shaun was patient when I was taking photos to send back and forth to her and had mention if there was any changes needed later to let him know. I left with 2 bags. Well lo and behold it later turned out my friend wanted a different bag than what I had purchased so I had to come back the next day to make an exchange. Shaun was out of town so a different (female) sales associate helped me. She did the exchange then let me know I had to take the difference in store credit or buy something else. I was NOT pleased with that and after speaking with her manager they were able to credit me back on my original form of payment. That really left a sour taste in my mouth when it comes to that certain employee. So my suggestion is to come ask for SHAUN! He is the nicest and will help you out. Okay I just love loved the service I received here compared to the other high end stores I recently tried to shop at. Which unfortunately will have a separate review. I was on a mission that day: to buy a new everyday bag, that was stylish, functional, and lots of pockets! I love my bags with at least 3 pockets or more! You'd be surprised how many designer purses give you just a damn card slot in your purse, not all come with a lovely zip compartment, or have any compartments at all! Luckily, the guys at Saint Laurent are awesome and really know their products well. I walked in not really quite sure if I wanted to just settle on their clutch chain purse, but they overheard I wanted something with pockets and showed me the purse that I ended up falling in love with! He explained to me that a lot of the purses are actually functional enough to be used as an everyday purse though customers tend to only use them on special occasions. They also only get about 3 units stock of each item so it's very unlikely you'll have the same purse as, in the words I used, "everyone and their mom!" And because the purse I got is still relatively new, the newest items come in black and all black first to see how they do on the market before being produced in other colors. **Prices are 20% lower than mainland US here, but I didn't have great service here** I purchased a purse here and the sales associate knew it was a gift. When I opened the shopping bag at home, I had clearly been given a USED box (see pictures). The box was completely sticky on one corner and it was very obvious that multiple stickers had been removed from the box. The sales associate probably assumed I would not open the shopping bag and see the USED box since it was a gift. Aside from this, I didn't have the best experience with the sales associate either. He didn't allow me to touch the bag freely and when I claimed that one side of the bag flap looked slightly crooked he said that it was because of the chain. When I looked at the bag at home, I knew that he was wrong, and that the bag was indeed slightly crooked, even with the chain removed. It wasn't enough for me to return to the store and exchange the bag, but left me with a very unpleasant feeling towards this SA and this specific store. Note to the store: when a customer is shelling $$$$, especially over $1000 for a designer handbag, customer experience should be top of mind. My first purchase at Saint Laurent! I walked in and I always notice whether or not a sales rep will approach me. I walked in and initially felt ignored. I made my way around the store, with a couple of reps just watching me. Finally David approached me. I pretty much knew what I wanted after researching online but couldn't decide between the kate or the wallet on chain. David was very thorough and brought them to me to compare. I still wasn't sure about the purchase so I walked away and he was not pushy at all. After going around Ala Moana and shopping at other places, I had made my decision. I went back to YSL and David was still there. He greeted me and I told him which one I wanted (black wallet on chain with gold accents). He then proceeded to get my bag and offered my bf and I something to drink while we wait. After inspecting my bag and ensuring it was free of handprints and dirt and stuff, I purchased it It was so fast and easy. David even let me sit and drink my water as he rang up the bag at the counter and called me up once he needed my signature. Furthermore, YSL competes with their other competitors that provide Hawaii prices (such as LV), so the price of the bag was 20% cheaper than on the mainland. I initially left the store to confirm this was true by looking up the bag online and even visiting Nordstrom. So yes, YSL at Ala Moana does sell their items at a cheaper price than the mainland! read more

First of all, John is awesome! Super down to earth and cool to chat with. He helped us locate items we wanted that weren't currently in store. He then ordered them and contacted us to follow up and update us on their arrival. Store is clean, minimalistic, and bright. Not too cluttered, you see everything you need to. However the clothing and shoe section is very minimal. Nota huge deal because the associates are more than happy to order them for you online. After days of luxury shopping on the island during my visit, I would say I got the best experience in YSL. Even though the cardholder I was purchasing was very inexpensive, regardless, the sales person was so helpful and polite! I was just looking at one color and hardware of cardholder, while I was looking he literally went around the store and pull out the entire collection of colors to show me! Compare to Chanel, LV, Gucci..etc and many other luxury boutiques, when you walk in the sales person wouldn't even notice you unless you go grab them yourselves. I love YSL and I've been waiting for them to open for awhile. The only place that I knew of that sold YSL in Ala Moana is Nordstrom. Now they have their own store! Yay! There are so many selections to choose from and if you want to see something that's not on the floor, the sales person goes back to bring out what they have. The service here is very good and all the staff are so friendly. When we went, I think that all the sales people were bilingual. I was looking at a new bag or clutch but couldn't decide. REALLY judge mental. I do not know what it is with the high-end stores, but they have an issue on how to deal with customers. If you dress a certain way or do not have any type of designer brand on you these stores will not bother to welcome/greet you, they will be on stand by watching you with an unfriendly vibe/stare the whole time you're there with a 10 feet distance, and they will not acknowledge you whatsoever. I am writing a complain to YSL because I've entered the store, the workers greeted/acknowledge everyone except me. I noticed this and was not surprised because of the previous service I had with the other stores. A lady came out from the back, older local Japanese lady with black and white hair, and didn't acknowledge me. She just came out to stalk me throughout the whole store. Being fed up I left, and I literally heard the woman say "See! I knew they weren't going to buy anything" That's where it caught my nerves and I had to write a complaint. I do not know what we're the exact words she stated but she has said something about how I did not purchase anything. First of all, wow. I did not know it was a requirement to purchase an item from every store I go through, second how did you know I was not going to purchase anything? Were you judging me by my looks? And lastly please be self observant with yourself because that attitude will not make you get very far. Of course not all workers are like this and I am sorry if I have offended any of you.
