Chicken Pita. Has grilled chicken, cheese, onion, tomato, lettuce. Tasty!

This is a review for their 8th/9th Street and Main cart, though I think the MCV one has the same exact menu. I have walked by this cart probably a hundred times in the past, but decided to stop by and try it a few weeks ago. I'm mad at myself for not trying it sooner! --Food: So far I've had their Fiesta, Thai, and Sweet William chicken wraps. Each consists of lettuce, grilled chicken, a flour tortilla, and some other unique additions. The Fiesta wrap had a Peach Mango Salsa (I believe), Thai had a spicy peanut sauce, and Sweet William had Chipotle BBQ, bacon, and tomato. Today I also tried the Chicken & Cheese Pita. Every item I've had so far has been delicious! Nothing is super fancy, but it doesn't need to be. (Minus some of the very interesting sauces in the wraps, yum!) Everything is super fresh, super affordable, and super tasty. One of the dark pits that I've fallen into downtown is the "fast food" or "fries" pit, so it's a breath of fresh air to eat what tastes like very "real" food. The lettuce is crisp and green, the chicken is always grilled and never gristly, and everything just has that light yet filling feel to it. Their sign says all of their bread is homemade as well. I haven't had the sandwiches or non-chicken items yet, but I decided today that I want to try every item on the menu, so I'll get there eventually. --Cost: Most items are about $6. Compared to the sandwiches and other areas around here that cost $8-$10, Christie's Lunchbox is very affordable. --Service: The ladies that run Christie's Lunchbox are easily some of the nicest people in the whole food business. They are always so cheerful and seem to enjoy what they do. It's one of those places where you don't feel silly asking what menu items are because they're more than happy to tell you about anything. --Overall: Christie's Lunchbox is one of my new favorite places to eat. While the food may not be as interesting or fancy as some of the options nearby, it's definitely fresh, affordable, and tasty. The staff are pretty much the nicest people ever and I've had nothing but a great lunch experience every time.

Had a gyro, pasta salad and chocolate chip cookie for lunch today. The gyro was awesome, a little light on tzatziki but otherwise so good. The pasta salad was unlike any pasta salad I've ever tasted. Tomatoes, green beans and almonds with a balsamic dressing and of course pasta. The cookies were freshly baked, a little hard but still tasty. Would definitely order from these gals again. Service was amazing.

Steak and cheese pita, with pepper jack, bacon and bbq sauce :)

Papa Ningo - Chicken chipotle quesadilla

This is a great, cheap, fast food truck located on the MCV Campus of VCU. I ordered a chipotle…read morechicken quesadilla and it came with two sides for $6! I had the rice and plantains, and they were delicious. The workers are super kind and even though the line was long, the food was prepared very quickly. The only negative comment I have is that I like my quesadillas to have a nice crunch on the outside, which this one did not (partly probably because of how quickly they have to move through the line). However, service is great and the food is great! There are many other food trucks right around this one, but this is definitely one of the best!

I'm not sure why Papa Mingo is listed under "Indian" because it's Mexican cart. Nevertheless, it is…read morethe BEST Mexican cart on the MCV campus. My go to is always the chipotle chicken quesadilla with rice and plantains. Unlike the other Mexican cart on campus, not sure the name but it's painted orange, Papa Mingo is very very generous with their protein. My quesadilla was oozing out cheese and chicken...just how I like it! I also tried the steak burrito previously and without fail, every bite had an equal proportion of steak, rice, salsa and hot sauce. Perfection. If you order an entree, you get all of the sides available. With a quesadilla you get 2 sides and no sides with the burrito. My favorite side is the plantains. It's not overly sweet and love the texture. I tend to get too excited with the hot sauce. I pour it on everything. The owners, who are hilarious by the way, warn me every time but of course I never learn. The heat is not unbearable for those who like spice but beware, it's a building heat. Next food truck friday, go try it out!
