I ordered my food from the food attendant who was a friendly and a professional person. She offered her suggestions with regard to my sub order on whether I should order my sub with provolone or American cheese. I opted for the provolone cheese along with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes. The sub was filled with well seasoned steak along with all of the toppings that were fresh and crispy. This is a food truck that took over an old closed car wash. They cleaned up the site painted and freshened up the area. They serve a nice selection of foods from their menu. This morning I had the Charlie's way platter which consisted of eggs, hash browns, your choice of meat and toast. The food was excellent! The hasbrowns had a great seasoning on them. The food was cooked fresh to order. A friend had the Steak and Cheese and said it's one of the best he's had in quite a while. I highly recommend this little spot. It was fast, fresh and the employees were very friendly! I love the little whole in the walls or the small guys trying to survive in a world full of corporations and chains. These guys are definitely worth supporting. If you are in the mood for a simple yet awesome breakfast give this place a try! I don't believe you will be disappointed at all. read more

I placed an online order and came to pick it up. The first thing I noticed was that Charlie's was set up like a food truck with a sort of shed (I think it used to be a car wash bay?) over it...cool concept and great repurposing of space! Anyway, the friendly guy at the window let me know that if I call next time, that will lower the price as they won't have the GrubHub fees, which was a good tip. I ordered a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on wheat toast. This is the only place I've seen nearby that offers non-pork sausage options, so I hopped on that right away. Solid sandwich and I'll be back the next time I'm in Glen Allen! read more

Every since I saw that they were going to put a food truck in that spot, I've been dying to go. Then, COVID hit and I've been staying home and never made it there. I wasn't sure that they were still open. Last Sunday, I decided that I would venture out and see if they were still open and making people happy with food. I am so glad that I made that trip... I had breakfast but not just any breakfast; I had a great meal. I had the Specialty Omelette (with ham). It was nothing short of amazing. You can tell that the food was made with a lot of care and love. The eggs were light and fluffy and the veggies were nice and crisp. The hash browns were nice and perfectly browned. The toast managed to stay warm and didn't get soggy on my trip back home. If the breakfast is this amazing then I can wait to try their lunch! read more

It's a Food Truck. Let's get that out of the way. It's a very clean, very friendly, and tasty food truck. Check out the menu, they offer everything you could cook at home, but don't want to ... and they do a better job. Everything I have had from there was worth stopping by, never been unsatisfied. If you are looking for a lunch break away from all of the commercial, over advertised chain fast food, come here!! The ingredients are fresh, very clean and at a reasonable price. Avoid the one way street ! Be smart about parking. Bring your appetite. read more

Ordered breakfast burritos for pickup and was not disappointed. Not many places I'm aware of around town make breakfast burritos and I was happy we discovered this spot. I got sausage and added sour cream to mine. It was delicious with plenty of meat. Not too spicy which I liked. My boyfriend got bacon on his and also enjoyed it. There are a couple tables there (outdoor seating only as it is basically a permanent food truck spot) so we stayed to eat. The staff was friendly. Good little local spot. You can't beat the prices. read more

Charlie's may be in temporary quarters across the road from their usual place. If so, ignore the industrial gravel lot and surroundings - this food truck has great stuff. I had the triple decker club sandwich. Admittedly, a club sandwich is hard to mess up, but Charlie's took the average club up several notches - not by adding anything unusual but by making each layer just exactly right. Huge, too! I had to disassemble each section to take a bite - and that made eight mini-clubs! Really tasty. Nice people serving in the truck, too. I'll be back! read more

Can't stay away from the steak quesadilla...wish I could so I'd review more food but its too good to pass up!! Food was really good! I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and my husband got the Mediterranean wrap. All of it was really fresh! I Stopped by Charlie's Way and ordered the Falafel Wrap and potato salad, the Falafel Wrap was the best I've ever tasted, very moist, flavorful, simply delicious!! I wanted more, lol. The potato salad was a little sweet for me but that didn't prevent me from eating it, the texture was perfect, overall very nice experience, I can't wait to try something else on the menu. read more

I would extend a score of 6 or more if I could! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Charlie's Way and their amazing team!! Their american/food truck fare is scrumptious, freshly made with fine quality ingredients; they're open daily 7-3 with breakfast and lunch. I've had at least their cheesy cheese omelette, breakfast potatoes, white butter toast, bagel, pancakes, grilled cheese, fries, egg n cheese sandwich, and more; it's all freshly made 2 order with friendly team to take order, pack with care, and wish their patrons a blessed day. Lunch on a weekday with weather suitable for outside dining. My 1/2 pound burger was tasty, hot and fresh on a soft fresh roll. It was cooked just med well so as not to be too dry. The fried chicken sandwich was large and very tasty with lettuce, tomato and pickles. Again served on a soft fresh roll which adds to any sandwich. The French fries were again hot and fresh cooked and the potato salad was tasty also. These folks are working hard to serve good food in their limited seating outdoor venue. The tables are under roof of the previous car wash bays all freshly painted with nice picnic tables spaced enough for current social distancing. Will try to get back for breakfast one morning. read more

As expected, we were told the wait would be about 45-50 minutes. Fine. The place was busy, as it usually is, and we had absolutely no problem waiting. I spent years working as a server and hostess. I understand busy restaurants, long waits, and tables that don't turn as quickly as expected. After waiting about 40 minutes, I went to the host stand to simply ask for an update. We had watched people leave and groups continue to be seated during our wait, so I wanted to see where we stood. The young man at the host stand told me it would be ANOTHER 40-50 minutes. I genuinely thought he had confused our name with someone else's, so I explained that we had already been waiting for 40 minutes. He told me our names were "at the bottom of the list" and that people inside were moving very slowly. No apology. No double-checking the list. No attempt to figure out how a quoted 45-50 minute wait had suddenly turned into an hour and a half. He didn't ask if we were willing to sit inside, offer another seating option, or even suggest placing a to-go order. Nothing. He was completely dismissive. So I handed him the menu and my Dad and I left. Then, just 20 MINUTES later--not the additional 40-50 minutes we had literally just been told--I received a call saying our table was ready. I tried to explain that we were no longer there and WHY we had left. The second I said we had "left," I was HUNG UP ON. Honestly, that was it for me. Before that phone call, I was actually sitting in the car telling my Dad that maybe we could try again another day. Despite being embarrassed and disappointed after talking this place up to him so much, I was still willing to chalk it up to a bad interaction with one host. Getting hung up on completely sealed the deal. I'm not angry because the restaurant was busy. I'm angry because we were treated like we didn't matter. I'm angry because we waited patiently for 40 minutes, politely asked one question, and were dismissed with inaccurate information instead of someone taking 30 seconds to double-check. I'm angry because when I tried to explain what had happened, I wasn't even given the basic courtesy of finishing a sentence before someone hung up on me. My Dad and I have lived in Lakeside for over 30 years. We weren't asking to skip the line. We weren't demanding a table. We weren't rude to anyone. We were two local customers who were excited to have breakfast together at a place I had genuinely loved and recommended to other people. We will NEVER be back. And yes, we will absolutely be telling our friends, family, and neighbors about how we were treated and recommending that they go somewhere else unless they want to risk being dismissed, given completely inaccurate wait information, and hung up on when they try to explain why they left. Apparently this place is busy enough that treating people with basic courtesy no longer matters. That's fine. There are plenty of other restaurants that will happily take our money and, at the very least, treat my Dad and me like human beings. What was supposed to be a fun breakfast with my Dad turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time. I went from genuinely loving and recommending this place to never wanting to step foot inside again. Congratulations. You lost two longtime local customers in less than an hour.

It's sort of compares to a Hardee's six dollar burger, but with that one, you get more cheese and toppings. The place itself looks like it could hold a lot of people and the bar looked well stocked, a place to maybe watch a game and have a beer.

This is a small place located on Brook rood right next to WAWA after the light. It was the first time I had been there and we have been living here for a couple of years, and I only live like 5 minuets away. I got the Veggie Omelette and let me tell you, nothing disappointing about this, so much flavor and hash browns where the sting kind, really delicious defentiy going to come back again. I don't like the potatoes to be crunchy in my potato salad Honestly, the whole thing came off as lazy and ordinary. The only good things I'll say is that they use very fresh ingredients. It's obvious they care about freshness. We were very pleased by how good the lettuce and apples were on our different sandwiches. The lemon square was decent as well. Good shortbread crust. But honestly? I don't know who they think they are, charging nearly $30 for two boxed lunches for something that wasn't worth $10 together. If you need boxed lunches there are better options out there at lower prices. Miss this place.
