The heat was perfect, the coating crispy, and the wedges were always on point. I couldn't come to Richmond without grabbing spicy wings. So when the owner decided to stop making the spicy wings and convert the fry station to breast strip fryers, that was it for me. That spicy recipe was the reason I came. Without it, this just isn't the same place. I won't be back unless the spicy chicken makes a return.

I ordered five, three piece dinners Friday February 6, 2026 and me and family ended up with upset stomachs from the meals. The chicken seemed as if it was cooked in burt cooking oil. The macaroni and cheese was runny with liquid in it. The potato wedges were not fully cooked as if the staff was in a rush to serve customers in the drive thru. I had already had a problem in the same store at lunch time on the same day. The young lady in the drive thru window did not understand English very well and therefore she messed up my order. I had to get out the car and come to try to get a refund. The managers did not apologize initially. After about 10 minutes I stopped one of the managers that came from the back and I told her my problem. She did her best to try to fix the problem. Later, the manager on the serving line finally apologized. I was told that Lees Chicken was one of the best in Richmond. Well, I have had three bad experiences in less than a week and a half. I tried to give this establishment a chance three times. First, you have to fully cook the food before you sell it to customers or someone is going to get sick lick we did. Mind you I spent almost $70.00 on this food and we all ended up sick. I would appreciate it if someone would contact me to discuss the matter. Thank you for reading my review and I hope to hear from you soon. Regards, Rodney (804) 929-7938

Ended up ordering the Chicken and Waffles with a side of their honey mustard. The chicken was fresh, crispy and very juicy. The waffles were delicious, had a nice crisp exterior with a soft inside. My partner had the chicken sando box with curry hot sauce. The Chicken Sandwich was humongous! His chicken patty barely fit between the two buns. We joked how we could've shared since it was practically two sandwiches in one. The portions were really large for one person. The cashier was also very nice and we got to try a mochi donut along with our meals. Which had that fun chewy texture associated with mochi. I also ordered a fresh strawberry tea to enjoy with my meal which was delicious, perfect amount of sweetness and had a realistic strawberry flavor. This place has a decent sized seating area and is pretty easy to access via street parking. It's a great spot to fulfill your craving for chicken and to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Personally it's a hit or miss as the tenders sometimes have a rubbery texture that I'm not really a fan of , but their soy garlic sauce with the chicken is honestly heaven. I also enjoy their selection of fresh teas and I love adding rainbow jelly to it. The employees make the environment very welcoming and I've never seen them with a negative attitude. If i'm ever in the mood for that sauce again, I would reconsider visiting a third time.

I noticed the ice cream/yogurt spot nearby was hopping. There was a person asking for change outside the front door. We were greeted by an enthusiastic host and seated immediately at a booth up front. The server came by within seconds and brought us water and place settings. We decided to get the chips and salsa for an appetizer and a pair of melting chimichangas for entrees. I can't resist some chorizo and steak. My partner got the chimichanga without chorizo and with chicken. The ambiance was colorful with beautifully painted murals on each wall, and the atmosphere was undeniably loud. There were lots of patrons. The place was packed, even at the bar, so your mileage may vary. We received our orders within minutes of each other, so there wasn't much of a wait time. The chips and salsa were homemade, fresh, warm, and delicious (muy rico). Same for the entrees; exactly what I want in a Mexican food restaurant. The chorizo and steak were well-cooked, seasoned, and chopped finely, but not ground. I was in heaven with that chimichanga. We had to take home leftovers. The next night, heated in the oven at 325 for 30 minutes, they were similarly excellent. The night ended without dessert, sadly (too full). However, the server was quick and efficient, and he was always around to fill water and bring anything we needed throughout the meal. Great experience overall. We will definitely return here whenever we have a hankering for some good Mexican food at reasonable prices. I can recommend this place to anyone who appreciates hearty and filling Mexican food.

The ambiance can be described as eclectic and casual. It's great for big groups and relaxed lunches. There's a variety of menu options for food and drink. Our server was nice, but she didn't really answer our questions about the menu or substitutions, which was a little inconvenient. Also, we kept having to ask for utensils and napkins, which made our food get a bit cold. The pineapple habanero margarita tasted like spicy pineapple juice and was pretty expensive. It was pretty, but not worth the money. The food also was really average, but the portion sizes were good for sharing. The huitlacoche tacos were a little bland and soggy, the chicken chipotle tacos had a good sauce but were also soggy and the fajitas did not have enough seasoning. Not a restaurant that I would come back to, but I liked it's proximity to other dessert places nearby.

It is fast casual - you order at the kiosk and grab a place to eat, listening for your number and/or text to alert you the food is ready. We arrived about 6pm on a Saturday night. It was busy and I grabbed one of the last two tables. It got very busy shortly after we placed our orders. The dining area is pretty big with plenty of bar seating around the windows. While we all ordered one after the other, our food didn't come out that way. Most of the food came out in about 25-30 minutes. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy! Two people got tenders and three of us got sandwiches. The OG sandwich was very good, just messy! I ended up using a fork and knife bc it got too messy. The Mac and cheese was made with pimento cheese and was very good. My friend who got the fried green tomatoes said they were delicious and filling. Lots of goodies on top. Two friends enjoyed the collards. The only person who was underwhelmed was the person who got the Asian sandwich. Overall, if I wanted a good chicken sandwich and a Buttermilk and Honey was nearby, I'd place an order.

We walked in to find the staff bustling, cooking, and prepping orders, and the smell of some delicious fried chicken in the air. I saw the kiosks and was not too thrilled with the Wawa experience, but we gave it a shot anyway, since fried chicken is one of our favorites. The process was simple and allowed us to add or remove anything we could want, so that was nice. While walking to find a seat, we saw a person panhandling in the dining area, but the staff promptly removed him from the premises. I ordered us the Pimento Cheese Balls for an appetizer, and I chose the Fried Chicken and French Toast as my entree because I always try the "chicken and waffles" at every establishment that offers it. My partner ordered the OG Chicken Sandwich without tomato, and it came with crinkle-cut fries. It was about $40. The chef proclaimed our order was ready in quick succession, maybe three orders behind the guests before us. We waited about ten minutes, maybe fifteen at most. We picked up the orders from the counter, and there was a mix-up on the syrup, but the chef promptly rectified the situation. He was a no-nonsense kind of guy; straight to the point. He seemed firm, yet kind. It was clear the day had been a busy one; he even told us as much, which was great to hear (busy = fantastic food). The French toast squares looked like rye or pumpernickel, and they emitted a sweet aroma, a delightful hit of cinnamon and brown sugar. I drizzled the caramel syrup on my chicken and toast, sliced a piece, and paired a bite of chicken with the toast. I closed my eyes to savor the flavors: the toast was crunchy and almost gooey (yet, not overly so), the chicken was crunchy, the sweet cinnamon-y flavors from the toast, the caramel from the syrup, and the tender, moist chicken were a match made in culinary art. I cannot sufficiently describe the French toast in a way that would do it justice; it was crunchy and semi-gooey, and all scrumptious. I can only say it was the single best French toast that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Next, I tried the fried pimento cheese balls. Oh my. If you like mozzarella sticks, try these. I adored them: elevated fried cheese, for real. My partner enjoyed her sandwich as well; she ate everything except some of her fries. I saved half of my chicken and toast for today because I am like a treasure golem when it comes to delicious leftovers. I am going to air-fry the chicken and skillet-heat the toast back to its original goodness. I told the cooks that that was the best French toast that I have ever had, and I mean it. Do yourself a favor and try it if you're into French toast. This one is the GOAT. Side note: I spoke with the head chef outside, and he is from another branch (possibly Henrico?) to whip this location back into shape. Two words: "Nailed it."
