Christina Brittain is an absolute gem of a person and our family is grateful to have found her. We first found Christina after our teen suffered an emergency mental health episode. Our family was devastated and desperate, searching for avenues of help from all sources. I have always been open to alternative therapies of various sorts but have tended to put most of my faith in traditional pathways. Unfortunately, traditional therapy had not been helpful leading up to our child's mental health crisis. After the event traditional therapy (which focused heavily on labels and overthinking the problems) continued to prove even more harmful than helpful. As Christina worked with our teen, I could see steady emotional improvement and healthier thought processes. During the first month of our teen's sessions with Christina, I realized that I needed some help as well. Going through this traumatic event was incredibly lonely and scary (even though I have a very loving husband by my side). I have always had some underlying anxiety and now it was through the roof. Even before this event, my underlying anxiety had crept into my everyday life. I had been suffering from severe insomnia for the past six years. The insomnia was severe. I believed that something was truly wrong with me; that my body and my mind were broken and I had forgotten completely how to fall asleep. I was taking high doses of prescription sleep medication and even that was starting to not be effective. My sessions with Christina were centering and restoring. She helped me see a different perspective with life, a perspective that I can shift as needed to see things in a different light. The only way I can describe it best is to say that I both feel restored back to my "natural self" and I feel empowered since I now see that I can choose my outlook and my perspective. We are one year out from our first meeting with Christina and I can say that she has saved our lives. Our teen is continuing to thrive, I am sleeping like a baby (at least 6 out of any given 7 nights) without sleep medication of any kind, and our other child is now benefiting from some preemptive sessions just to help guide and promote a healthy perspective through the pre-teen years. We still follow through with our periodic check-ins with a licensed psychiatrist but as far as therapy is concerned, Christina is our rock; well, more accurately, our sparkling gem. It's been almost two years and I'm still having a hard time putting into words how Christina has truly helped me. I did not start to accept the trauma I experienced when I was 5 years old until I was in my mid 30s. I was unaware at the time how it affected me. I went to a few therapist but did not stay dedicated or consistent. I found it hard to talk about me and what I was feeling because I did not understand it myself but I started to recognize it. I had deeply ingrained coping mechanisms and patterns. I was in my head most of the time; constantly having internal conversations. I was always "figuring" something out. Creating a plan. Making lists. I chose to have very few people in my life and very few could earn my trust. I was not truly enjoying the world around me. Then I turned 40. I experienced a few years of feeling lost and sad which I thought was odd considering I was fairly successful. Truly blessed with an amazing husband and a beautiful home. I decided to make an investment in myself and that is how I found Christina. I was using my job as the main culprit of my problems. I thought, if I leave my job, I will be happier. In the end, it was me. It was my patterns. What I needed was to be more aware. I needed to understand how to be present and get out of my head. Through Christina's compassionate guidance and expertise I was able to open up. She offered a variety of tools and techniques that helped me feel more in tune with myself. I did two rounds of SSP which helped me feel more calm and grounded. Because of Christina's support, I've learned how to be more present in my daily life. Its a very interesting story as to how I came across Christina. I love her! I came across her i believe a year before I truly started visiting her studio for classes as well as for personal sessions. I was a president of a non profit group in san diego and wanted to raise some money for a charity we were working on and i thought doing an expressive art class will be awesome. I came across her website, I connected with her but then the idea did not quite materialize. But I told her I am sure I will be back personally to you one day. Little that I knew I was introduced to her at the first place was for me and not for my group:) And i did carefully had saved her information. Yes. I then was diagnosed with a benign tumor and a fracture in my neck. But once i was able to walk again after my surgery i connected with her and our journey began. I was there to her every week for i believe for a year. From here on she introduced me to two other wonderful teachers who would help me further on my journey. She is wonderful, personable, understands you and is there for you. She is a beautiful Soul. I am very particular when it comes to allowing any energy healer to be in my energy field. My soul had already made me aware before the incident took place to her which I know now and because it was my soul connection I had accepted her as my guidance to what i was going through. I am incredibly grateful for Christina. I have been seeing her for over two years, and I am in awe of our process. I sought out Christina after a breakup and dealing with trauma from my family. My mind was small, my nervous system was a wreck and everything in life felt black or white to me. I thought I was getting help for just a moment in life but that was only the beginning... Fast forward to the here and now and my world has expanded beyond what I could have imagined. I have regulated my nervous system and I have found myself. There are times in my life when I start to believe the stories randomly generated in my mind. Stories that I know can't be true but feel so real. Working with Christina virtually on Zoom has been beyond rewarding, especially in this time of uncertainty with the Covid variants. She understands how our thinking works, allowing the client to feel into their wisdom and clarity. This way of sharing inwardly into the experience of thoughts provides a sustainable solution instead of adding more work to the lives of her busy clients. Christina provides a safe and compassionate space that helps and supports you in finding your insights, answers and solutions. She is kindness manifest! I unexpectedly encountered her at the beach one day and in her lovely and empathic way she touched a tender, hurting place in me that turned into a torrent of tears. I call Christina my angel who came to me when I was facing health issues and needed some grounding outside of a medical perspective. Her gentle demeanor and understanding of where my anxiety and fear of the unknown came from to create this feeling. She looked at who I truly was.
