Christina's use to be our families favorite restaurant on the danforth. WOW how things have changed. Food was gross probably the worst experience that i have ever had there. It was truly disappointing. Not only was the food a joke, our waitress was an even bigger JOKE! She literally questioned our ability if we would be able to finish our food. All night she was throwing these sarcastic comments our way. Not enjoyable when you are paying over 150.00 on a night out. Service is warm and friendly however the food is JUST okay.... prices are quite high for the portion sizes. We had the pork souvlaki dinner, very small portion only one skewer a small scoop of rice and two potatoes. We also tried the zucchini tower which was fried slices atop a pile of garlic COLD mashed potatoes . I was told that the cold mashed is the way it is meant to be served but wasn't a fan of the flavour the crispy pieces of zucchini are delicious but the thicker cut pieces are very mushy and not as enjoyable. The Very Best. We truly enjoyed our expeience at Christina's tonight. The food and service was above our expectations. The patio was full and the hostess was very friendly to give us a nice table for four. The grill kalamari and the horiatiki salad was very delicious. Our paidakia, salmon, shrimps and rack of lamb were cooked to perfection. Our service was excellent . Very friendly and nice staff. We will be back again. read more

My boyfriend and I go here almost every weekend, we always seem to end up getting the same thing, but it is so good, how could you not! Their mussels are so delish, prepared in a house made tomato sauce! Their lamb chops, cooked to perfection are the best in Toronto! I assure you it is worth stopping by! read more

Brunch review only. Absolute crap food, embarrassingly bad; limp french toast, anemic omelet, soggy overcooked potatoes. Worst of all: the service. Nearly empty restaurant yet we got our food after tables arriving after us. Confused inattentive service, could not even get the bill, had to ask twice, contemplated dine and dash. This is by far my favourite restaurant in the city. We've been coming here for well over 10 years and never been disappointed with a meal or the service. My husband is from the Caribbean and he knows fresh fish and good fish when he tastes it and this one of few restaurants in the city where he will order the fish without hesitation. I usually get the beef souvlaki and it's been on point every time. When the owner Christina is there, she is always checking to make sure everything is to our satisfaction. I appreciate how passionate she is about her business and the sense of pride she has about the menu--sharing little tips on how best to savour the taste of different dishes etc. The weekend entertainment is a nice plus--great food, good drink and belly dancing...what more could you ask for? This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The waitress messed up our order and another person in our party didn't enjoy her salad. When we complained the waitress eventually admitted a mistake with my order and offered to replace it but the manager had to be called for the salad incident. He ended up telling us to leave without any explanation and started clearing our plates before even giving us a chance to decide if we wanted to stay. We have never been embarrassed like this or been treated in such a rude way. We will never be returning or recommending it to any of our friends. read more

My two friends and I ordered chicken souvlaki. Everyone had overcooked chicken. We let our server know at the end of the meal. The owner Costas came over to our table, introduced himself, sat down and proceeded to cut what remaining chicken I had left on my plate into small peices, then through the server/interpretor, Costas gave us a lesson on somonella. Really Costas? Do you think you need to give 3 women in their 50's a lesson on cooking? Unacceptable and I definitely will never eat here again. This is the Danforth where plenty of restautrants are doing souvlaki. Step it up and learn to size up your customers a little better and don't overcook your chicken! A very poor recovery. read more

3 of us ate lunch there today. Very nice casual ambience. The bruscheta (tomato and feta) on pita was absolutely amazing. It was the best bruscheta any of us had ever had. We each ordered different lunch specials, and all were excellent. The Bifteki was the best of the 3 dishes but all were good. The vegetarian moussaka, the pork souvlaki and the Bifteki were all well worth the price, and quite enjoyable, and the service was attentive but not intrusive. read more

Went there last night for the patio with a friend. Amazing food...delish almost fluffy homemade tzaziki, marinated souvlaki, grilled vegetarian platter were all awesome! Service was very good too- not overbearing just polite and attentive. Will definitely go back. read more

Visited this past weekend & was sick with likely a food borne illness. We also had a somewhat rude server, even though it was my girlfriend & my birthday no special treatment. Recommend to visit Pan next door, much higher quality food, service & entertainment. If you wish to risk eating there, stay away from all dips (hummus, tzaziki or shared appetizer plate). read more

We recently visited this restaurant and had a troubling experience. First of all the restaurant was half empty and yet they sat us in the back. Then the server brought out the bread and one of the butters were open and half eaten! Then we tried to order our food and my Vegan friend simply asked for a Greek salad without feta cheese and the server rudely denied her and told her that the salads were already made. Being a vegan, the Greek salad was the only thing she could eat so she decided not to order anything at all. The server then told us that everyone needed to order something and that if we didn't we simply could not stay. The staff overall is very rude and always in hurry as if pretending to be busy even though the restaurant isn't even close to being half full. As for the food, I cannot review it because we never even got the chance to try it. This restaurant is just sad and I DO NOT recommend it to anyone. Eventually we came across another restaurant named Anestis further down the street and the food was phenomenal. read more

I went to this place with my husband on New Year's eve. When I called to book a reservation, they were quite rude to us on the phone adamant that we had to leave by 8:00 p.m. It was a last minute decision so we decided to go anyway. This was our first time at this restaurant and the dining area is really crammed. The waitresses had barely any places to walk between tables and we constantly had to move our chairs around so we could get by. The waitress seemed a bit air headed and couldn't even pronounce anything on the menu. We got our drinks pretty quickly and she took our order. We ordered an appetizer and our main dish and the appetizer took almost 15 minutes (It was bruschetta so why so long?). The main meal took a half an hour to get to us. The food was average at best. My stuffed chicken was just ok and my husband said his souvlaki was average. To get our bill it took a really long time. We also were very unhappy with the automatic 15% gratuity that were not told about it was just planted on our bill. The man that spoke to us on the phone then told us that after 8 p.m. was a prix fixe menu so we were lied to completely. Not happy with our experience and won't be going back. read more

A friend and I went to Christina's for lunch. Upon arrival we were seated. When the waiter came he was very impatient and wouldn't give us any time to order. We asked for a drink menu which seemed to annoy him. We ordered wine and beer, when they came, the wine was really bad and the beer flat. We were very polite, and when he returned, we barely had his attention to order food and inquire about the food options on the menu. We asked nicely to return our drinks, he offered and alternative and walked away. Moments later the owner came out and was rude and told us he wouldn't serve us. I was there a few weeks ago. The patio looks romantic until you go inside, the further back you go the more gloomy it looks. The hospitality service and food was very poor. I ordered the pasta and sea food, I figured okay I'm in Creek restaurant but how can you mess up pasta and sea food, but they did. I ordered it less mussels but it came with mussels when I complained the waiter told me "you said no mushrooms". Instead of waiter being concerned he was rude and he could hardly understand or speak English. The pasta and sea food was cold, no taste it should have come with shrimp and octopus but had to search for it, one piece of shrimp and did not find octopus but yes lots of mussels which I did not want. My friend had grilled calamari and it was rubbery not tender at all. We have been to a few Creek restaurants on the Danforth and all the others serve the calamari with salad but Christina did not come with salad, maybe they forgot, we even had to ask for bread. Both plates we had were more expensive than others on the Danforth. The Danforth is a great place to go for a walk in the summer but the restaurants are all becoming over prized with bad service and food. It reminds you of a tourist trap. Yes, we'll go back on Danforth but definitely not Christina. Sal T. read more
