Company from out of town and we decided on Christine's because of the varied menu. We were not disappointed! The egg roll appetizer was excellent. We tried combo plates 1&3 and Christine's Feast. All enjoyed the spicy, tangy pork and the noodles. Can't wait to go back and try the pot roast, more pork skewers and yes more egg rolls. We had just dropped our teenagers at the movie theater so wanted to find a bite to eat that was closely, but not the usual "West Side Eatery." I'd heard great things about Christines, so we decided to give the "Taco Tuesday" a try with another couple. The place was packed. There are two entrances and we quickly realized we came in the "back entrance" so hustled over to get our name on the list. I thought it would take forever because the place was packed, but we waited less than 5 minutes. In that tiny window, we managed to grab beers are the bar. There are not tons of options but they had decent choice of 4 to 6 beers on tap, more in bottles, and a full bar. Once we were seated, we ordered the Philippino chicken skewers and fried cheese curds - mixing cultures. I'm not a huge fan of fried cheese, but the sauce they were served with was so good, I started dipping my chicken in it. It had a tangy flavor with a good kick. We ordered a variety of tacos - $1 beef tacos, $1.75 chicken tacos, and fish tacos (the latter is not on special). I really liked the fish tacos. I prefer a little "kick" in my food, so I would recommend adding some hot sauce to spice things up, but overall, they were very good and I would order them again. My husband enjoyed his chicken tacos and our friend, who had a bunch of the beef tacos enjoyed those. These are NOT small tacos, so keep that in mind when you order. Overall, the atmosphere is a little rough. It's an old Pizza Hut after all. While it's definitely taken some wear, I think that's more from the current restaurant than the old Pizza Hut. This places gets VERY busy. Oh, almost forgot to mention the staff. Every single person we interacted with was very friendly and worked hard to ensure a great experience. This place is such a hidden gem! I'm on the west side all the time visiting family (born and raised!) but I had never even considered this place. It's down the hill near the old Kmart and you can miss it if you're not paying attention. I decided to bring the in-laws here after seeing the menu. My mother-in-law likes to try new foods and is pretty adventurous if it isn't spicy. My father-in-law is a meat 'n potatoes guy. Christine's is the PERFECT blend for the pair of them. What we tried: Lumpia (Filipino egg roll) -- great flavor and texture with a nicely spiced dipping sauce. The sauce has a subtle heat that even my MIL could handle (she thinks Chipotle's chicken is too spicy). Burrito Supreme -- big portion and great flavor. You get chorizo and then pick either chicken or steak. We had it with the chicken and I loved the combo and texture. Pork Adobo -- huge portion (leftovers for lunch!!), simple, delicious. You can taste the love and care in this one. We didn't try any of the boring stuff my father-in-law would have liked (he had to work and couldn't join) but it looked good on other tables and people were enjoying it. They have different weekly specials and happy hour 3-6 every day. Today was margarita Monday (half price -- $3.25) and I found them to be up to snuff. They post the specials on their Facebook and I THINK they are the same each week. The place was also nice and clean. Tables were bused quickly and the busing trays were kept out of sight. Staff was nice and friendly too. Someone I assume to be THE Christine was also making rounds and greeting everyone. Seemed to be a lot of regulars but we didn't feel out of place. My husband and I went here last night for the first time. Being Valentine's Day they were busy as you'd expect. Our food was amazing, our server Mark was amazing and the restaurant is extremely clean and comfortable. I (a Filipino myself) was visiting from out town and was excited to have Filipino food so we ordered the combo plate of pancit, Filipino soup, lumpia, bbq and adobo. It's such a shame, a Filipino restaurant owner herself serves the adobo dish as a Filipino dish. It looked and tasted NOTHING like Filipino adobo...it taste like chicken a La king with its light colored gravy sauce! The bbq was plain tasting...the Filipino soup taste like chicken noodle soup..the egg roll (lumpia) was like you get at a Chinese restaurant! Seldom are we on the western side of cincinnati, after leaving a jewelers nearby, and found this restaurant. Greeted by the friendliest waiter (Mark) who treated us like an old friend and provide the best service. Being first timers, he highlighted the meals and some of their more popular dinners. I ordered the BTO SUPREME CHICKEN and my wife got the CHICKEN A LA CHORIZO. Waiting on our meal, we watched as other meals were brought out, and each one looked delicious When the meal was delivered it was big enough for two. The food looked and smelled great. Went here for the first time with a group from our ham radio club. They were very busy and the was a problem with staffing in the kitchen; but Christine and the waitress still got our food out in a reasonable amount of time given the circumstances. We've been at this location twice and the older location twice. The food is ok to good. What I find interesting is that this new location is kind of a disaster. Inside, the the interior design is awful. Minty green walls along with chairs that look like they came from 1987. Not to mention the funky window treatments. The service is ok too. The host seemed to be irritated that we were there, but the waitress was nice enough, but a little rough. I got the All Star plate, it was ok, but expensive for the portion size. I have passed Christine's more time than I can remember. Even looked them up on Yelp and their own website a few time. Never quite felt inspired enough to give them a try. After discovering another restaurant we were going to try is closed on Mondays we had to come up with a "plan b." We remembered hearing they have half priced margaritas on Mondays, and decided to give them a try. Christie's will no longer be thought of as a "plan b." Having already decided we would give the margaritas a try, they are half price after all, both my husband and I decided to get the lunch special tacos. There is a choice of crunchy or soft. We both chose the soft. The tacos were good on their own. Hubby and I both agree that adding the Cholula hot sauce made them great. The ground beef was well seasoned. The Cholula gave them an extra zip. They did not skimp on the filling. The fries that came with the children's meal were cooked perfectly. There is a variety of types of foods on the lunchl menu. Lunch specials are $5.99. They have a soup and sandwich lunch special for $7- something. The regular menu is also available. Margaritas may be ordered on the rocks or blended. We tried ours blended. We saw our server blending the different flavors individually. They were sweet. Squeezing the wedge of lime from the rim into them really balanced the flavor. We all left satisfied. Service was attentive. We felt welcomed and appreciated. At the end, our server said "hope to see you again." Without hesitation my husband answered "oh you will." Decor is not to my taste. Good solid choice. We decided to give this place a shot. Coming in at 5:30 and it was jammed packed but we only ended up needing to wait about 10ish minutes so not too bad. I think it was Christine + 2 other servers who were running around. They definitely kept moving with all the tables but service was just a tad slow due to how busy they were. But with that being said, they were friendly. Egg rolls - good. I didn't realize it was happy hour so these ended up being half off which was even better. Fish and Chips - not a fan. The fish wasn't anything to write home about. The fried cabbage was not good. Chicken a la chorizo - super delish. Completely devoured. 100% would order again. Shrimp platter - really good as well. It was basically like the chicken a la chorizo (i.e. it was smothered in queso - yum). Christine's special - good. The problem is we cook Filipino dishes so when you get used to eating a dish a certain way, you judge everything by that way. But with that being said the soup was devoured by my 17 month old. Overall we'd visit again. Maybe stick with the Mexican dishes since both of the ones we got knocked it out of the park. I'd really like to try some of the other menu items as well. We usually get Door Dash delivery from Christine's a few times a month at work. This time we went in after going to the movies. I enjoyed the Filipino platter with all the Filipino offerings. This is a nice cute clean place on the west side. Passed it many times but got smart one night and tried it. Simply delightful. there version of egg rolls YUMMY.
