Wow was this place packed for a Wednesday lunch. We got sat right away and the staff was hustling. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was good. The chicken was cooked well and the pepper jack cheese I added was nice. The fries were a bit soggy but still good. You do get a free soda or tea included with your lunch which was nice. Definitely a popular spot!

Super busy and jam packed parking lot but seated immediately. Ordered the chicken strips , sweet potato and broccoli The chicken stripe were actually the breast flattened out and fried. They were not greasy. The ranch dressing is made in house. Large portions and most people left with boxes. Definitely worth stopping in. Zoe took great care of me while I went thru the menu.

Some friends and I went to Silver Spring House for lunch after church and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The service was impeccable! As busy as it was, we were seated very quickly and our server was very prompt in taking drink orders. The menu is fantastic! This was my first time at SSH, so I wasn't sure what to order. I was told their chicken is amazing, but then I saw fried shrimp on the menu. I do love fried shrimp. It came with coleslaw and fries. Perfect! I did notice that there was 1 price for most of the meals, which is also nice. It was the appetizers and salads, etc. that had different pricing. Our server, at one point, just brought us pitchers to refill our drinks, which was amazing. As we were eating our lunch, the staff were decorating the outside of the restaurant for Christmas. I do love the island vibe SSH has and now it's a bit merrier with the Christmas decor. Overall, this was an excellent place to eat - the food, service, price, and ambiance were great. If I can't be at a real beach, this is a great place to go to!

First time at this unique venue. Found out that it has been around for many years and is filled with a lot of interesting memorabilia. It is huge! Lots of seating with a large bar in the center and windows along the perimeter that open up in good weather for a partial outdoor dining experience. SSH is known for its chicken, and it is served in many forms from grilled to fried to atop salads, etc. I had the Black Bean and Chicken Salad with citrus-marinated grilled chicken breast. The chicken was fantastic, the salad portion not so much. The cilantro dressing is a vinaigrette and tasted very high on the vinegar scale. For some reason, I was thinking it would be more of a creamy dressing. The greens were shredded (as mentioned on the menu). It reminded me more of a chopped salad. A nice touch is that a drink is included with your meal. Besides the grilled chicken on my salad, my other highlight was the old-fashioned. This was fantastic! Best blue corn tortilla chips I have ever had. Our server was excellent and very attentive. Some other unique things about the venue: ~free self-serve fresh popcorn from an old-fashioned popper stand ~free peanuts ~over 50 flat screen TVs ~Ohio Lottery and Ohio Lottery Keno ticket purchase

Always a good time. It's very loud always has a game on the TVs. Good place to hang out with friends. Large portions and the best chicken in Cincinnati!

Visited on a busy weekday for lunch. It was a sweltering sunny August day. With that being said I was surprised to find they did not have AC. the windows were open and there was a large drum fan positioned in the center that did provide nice air circulation. However on days like that it still gets sticky due to humidity. The interior is fairly dark with lots of wood and most of the tables are high tops. I did notice they had a wide-ranging selection of draft beers. The menu is typical bar type food with burgers and fried chicken among the items. I ordered a fried chicken salad from the lunch menu which includes the main dish and a non-alcoholic drink. The fried chicken in the salad was yummy however the whole salad was at best -ok. It had an overwhelming amount of shredded cheddar on top. Which, perhaps due to the warm weather was slightly melted. As much as I love cheese this was a little too much. There should have been more lettuce- which seemed sparse for the salad. Our server was pleasant and very attentive. The wait for food seemed long, but perhaps it was because of the busyness. The price was reasonable. Overall, I would visit here again, but it would have to be when the weather is cooler.

Went for lunch since I was in area. Chicken strips were great. My wife was disappointed in her salad, specially the dressing. Blue corn chips were great with the queso, guacamole and salsa. Love tge free popcorn. You can ask the bartender for free peanuts. 17.50 per lunch special includes a drink. Still crowded.

The service is really good. Seated promptly, waters come out promptly, minor order modifications handled easily. We have really enjoyed the variety of food. My husband loves the salads and the bowls and pizzas are also good. Probably the favorite entree we have had is the fish and chips. We find the drinks particularly reasonably priced and the cocktails are good. We really like the blueberry one. The space is sunny and open. We have been with our kids and see lots of friendly groups dining there. Free parking in the garage is another plus.

I forget our servers name, but the manager also came by to check on us and even got my food boxed. We got a burger and the chicken katsu and of course the famous biscuits to start. The biscuits were very good but also a bit buttery greasy for our taste. One was enough (we split it). I did take the rest home and add some eggs to it for breakfast which was good! The burger was pretty good. Nice and salty. Not dripping with grease. Soft bun! The fries were decent but not my preferred style. I like fresh cut and these were kind of a shoestring fry. The chicken was decent but a pretty small portion that left my fiancé hungry. He said the side with it was just ok. We got cocktails that I can't recall but they were pretty good. We would go back and try some other things. Probably on a less busy day earlier in the week.

Our host was able to make reservations for seating areas for large numbers of people, so once we had two areas of a dozen or more, and a couple other times we had one area of that size. This flexibility was a big plus because we could only guess at how many would make it each time. We had ice-cold beers of every description, including IPAs, hazys, and other local crafts. I can't name them all, and some drafts aren on the printed menu, bu5 8 kniw we had Psychopathy, a flavorful IPA, and Seeing Colors Tropical IPA, with a sweeter / hazy profile. Dont miss their cocktails! We loved the S'More Espresso Martini: vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee tiqueur, and espresso :-) So much yum! And we ordered various pizzas. Our favorite was the Scenic Supreme (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, black olives) and the Vista Veggie (about the same without the meats). I also saw friends devouring Caprese Canyon (olive oil, minced garlic, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, roma tomatoes, balsamic drizzle). And of course regular pepperoni. Tasty crust, tasty red sauce, (you could get white sauce), generous toppings. We got the large sizes, which were enough for at least four people per pie. Sandwich-wise, the most popular was the Cuban Reuben: marble rye, corned beef, ham, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dill pickle, and Russian dressing. It's the added ham and pickles that move it toward a Cuban sandwich. Well-stacked, hot, and flavorful. For local flavor, the Goetta sandwich: that flavorful Cincinnati oat-pork hash, with candied bacon, american cheese, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, and ranch. Here and there we shared Buffalo fried-Cauliflower with celery and ranch on the side. This was. Not as spicy as it could be. But if you're going to eat cauliflower, this is tasty approach. We like the tangy Fried Pickle Spears better, served with lightly-spicy chipotle ranch. And we added some fresh crunchy Caesar salads, too, and and amazing pecan, apple, blue cheese, cranberry salad! So many candied pecans! Somehow, the servers kept up with an erratic flow of orders from different groups, keeping track on portable devices, so it was easy for each group to settle their own bill as-needed. It may not sound like much, but it was impressively smooth and error-free. And the staff remained helpful, and cheerful throughout. They built a large playgroup area with slides and climbers and more. Inside there's a large play camper that we spent a lot of time in, too! This is a great place for fresh-air dining, for large groups, and especially for kids. We lived the food and drink. Lots of wonderful leftovers, especially those huge pizzas!

Good morning, Tina!…read more It was a wonderful event and my mom was totally loved on for her 90th Birthday Party. The food was great, and everybody seemed to enjoy it and comment on it. I appreciated the young ladies cutting up the cake and help serve that as well. As an Event Planner myself, I believe it was Christie and Lulu that handled my event and they were simply amazing. They were an event planner's dream. They checked in with me, they made sure everything was as it should be. They were kind and very cordial. I can't sing their praises enough. The feedback I got was it was a great venue and great food and everyone had a great time. So with that many greats I will say that I hope to work there again with future events.

I started with the day's cream of mushroom soup with goat cheese. The soup was excellently crafted, and the mild goat cheese was the right addition. A tangy goat cheese would have clashed with the simplicity of the soup. My friend chose the jambalaya, and was very happy with it. I had pot roast, subbing wonderful roasted garlic potatoes for the mashed (which I highly recommend). The bordelaise sauce that comes on the side allows one to create a beef burguignon-type dish. The beef was cooked expertly, so it could be sliced into tender pieces that hold together. We both enjoyed their signature cornbread, of course. My friend's warm apple pie was amazing. My crème brûlée was the only thing in the entire meal that was less than amazing. The sugary layer on top was exactly as thin as I like it. The custard underneath was not impressively silky in texture. That isn't bad, but it also isn't difficult to achieve. It definitely didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying every bite, and it's the largest crème brûlée I've ever had. So, I highly recommend Desha's, and definitely won't let years pass before I return. Addition: I should not have posted my review until after I had tried the bread pudding that I got to take home. Connor, who generally doesn't care for bread pudding, recommended it, so I had it today, heated 1 minute, covered, in the microwave. That stuff is wonderful. If you get it to go, do not taste it before you heat it, because it is clearly designed to be eaten warm. It is short on raisins, but that is a matter of taste, so I can overlook it. It isn't as good as the apple pie, but I got a bite of that, too, so I have tried all three of the recipes that interest me most, although I have to try the blackberry cobbler, too. Oh, and the pot roast was still great the second day.

This place has tons of parking which is free. The pricing for mini golf was really good better than anywhere else - unlimited and two different 18-hole courses (I will say the courses itself could use an upgrade - new paint or adding some objects to the course to make the established holes a bit more challenging. We paid 9 dollars per person. The driving range was also pretty cheap for buckets of balls - it would be a fun afternoon to bring the dads for driving range, the kids for mini golf and the moms can eat food and hang or enjoy the range as well. The food looked good, but we did not partake - the drinks were decently well priced - a can of beer 3.50 - a sway was 6 bucks. They have free concerts every now and then at their art installation, which is pretty cool, I also think it's cool how they do 5 buck Mondays. The staff was nice enough, my only complaint is the grass was a little overgrown, so we got ate up with chiggers and skeeters.
