I go in and they plug it in and (the motor was sounding horrible!) the motor squeals and he says, it's the motor! Really? As if I couldn't tell. So before heading in I had looked up the motor and knew what I was looking at $$ wise just labor i was curious about and to know that the motor was my only problem. He continues, yeah your motor is shot and unfortunately I worry that if I started messing with this it could break and they don't make parts for these anymore. Mind you my husband bought me this six years ago, yes I know they don't sell them anymore but I have bought replacement parts for this and have had no issue finding them whatsoever! So I told him I looked up the motor and found it on amazon ($33.96) so he looks it up and found it for $47! Of course he said it would be free shipping. What a load of crap! He says I can buy the motor and just pay labor, which is only $49! I said forget it and he threw up his hands and walked away. I was curious if I asked about his products if that would change his attitude. Of course it did and now I know I will never go back. 10 min to remove clean and replace the motor. $35 with tax And I got free shipping (who knew that was available to anyone other than him!) and my shampooed works again. FYI I am a caregiver not an electrician or mathematician or rocket scientist. I did not use YouTube to figure out how to fix my machine. This is not a hard thing to do and done yourself can be much cheaper. People like that prey on the naive. Know your stuff before you head in, and unless you want to put another gold bracelet on his arm fix it yourself. Lastly, if he would have been even slightly nicer, I would have paid him to fix it. Attitude is everything.

Jenny, Thank you for the feedback. Our return policy is based on the manufacturers policy for returns on special orders. All in stock material can be return with no fee. Special orders carry 25% because that is what we get charged. And they don't take less than 5 cartons. I will look into your order. If you had 220 ft to return that would be more than five cartons. As for measuring, we strive to be as accurate as possible while trying to predict waste. We show you our quantities for open disclosure but ultimately we charge by the bottom line cost. If we under estimate we buy more at our cost and it delays the job which no one wants, so we try to have what we need on hand. If you have 220 ft left over, please bring it in. We've just completed a pretty big carpet re-do in our living room, master bedroom and 3 closets, stairs (that are wrapped so a real challenge) and upstairs hallway. The installer was a magician and did a fabulous job...not even a hint at where seams might be. Steps look great as well. Vickie was a pleasure to work with and we had to do some creative scheduling which came off without a hitch. I recommend Christoff's without any hesitation. Great job and done with every detail I would expect from a good sub contractor. I have been in the design building business for over 40yrs and recently retired. We have used Christoff on many occasions at several locations and they have done excellent work. They did my personal home this time and hit it out of the park again. The only small issue was we had wood dust in many areas that we did not expect. It was in our basement so it needed a good cleaning any way. We live in Brooklyn, MI 49201 not SF, CA. We spoke with Vicki S. about our flooring which needed cleaning. She was extremely helpful, and scheduled Shane to come out and clean our tile flooring. Shane was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful (even to the point of reminding me that I might want to put the dog away so she wouldn't run out of the house through the opening left by the hoses in the front doorway!). I never thought that refinishing a wood floor would be so easy. I expected much more dust and debris. The vacuum system that was used did an excellent job and eliminated practically all of the dust from the sanding process. The finished floor looks great and we have had many compliments from friends and family. We recently purchased our forever home and the stairs to the basement were horribly steep and even…read moredangerous. We walked away from this house once because of that, but when the house came back on the market, we knew this was the home for us! We purchased it "eyes wide open" knowing we had to do something with the stairs. We spoke to a lot of knowledgeable people who all said the same thing. This would be a challenging job because the stairs would have to be demolished and rebuilt, but we still only had the space that was there to get the correct rise and tread sizes, which would impact the head space at the bottom. In other words, a tall person would have to duck...and this would never do! I had three carpenters look at my stairs. The first carpenter shook his head and said he had no clue where to start. The second carpenter was Brian from B&C, who I found through an online search and was blown away by their great reviews and the pictures of their amazing work! Brian immediately started calculating available space, and thinking outside the box. His knowledge and transparency inspired me to have great confidence in him and his price was super reasonable! The third carpenter came across as this being not a great challenge, which I knew better, and proceeded to give me a price that was nearly double of Brian's. So, our choice was clear. Brian had pre construction meetings with us to keep us apprised of his plans, as well as meetings during the construction. After calculating and brainstorming with his crew, he said he could reframe the ceiling at the bottom to give more head space. He also discussed cutting into and reframing the top landing to get additional space. Brian kept us informed each step of the way and his craftsmanship was impressive. We started the work on November 1, with our only deadline being completed before Thanksgiving. Brian completed our work in about 10 days! While I did post a couple of finished photos, B&C's websites will have good before and after pictures. I wholeheartedly recommend B&C for any carpentry job. You will get honesty, integrity, transparency, great communication, fair pricing and old fashioned craftsmanship!
