My skin peeled slightly yesterday, and when I woke up this morning, I had the most amazing complexion. My skin looks a decade younger. My smile lines on one side are completely gone. The smiles lines on the other side have majorly receded. I literally could not believe how beautiful I looked in the mirror today with no makeup on. I work and go to school full-time, and I overlook that my body and mind require a break to rejuvenate, too. Life can get so busy that I forget that I need that time to rest and do a different activity that allows me to unwind and not think of my long to-do list. Getting a facial as self-care is just a first step that also jumps starts my cellular and collagen production so that I will look well-rested (and younger). It was so relaxing that I fell asleep as Fiona brushed on a mini-facial before getting started on the peel and gave me a coat hanger massage, which focused on the neck and shoulders. I left Skin Deep feeling rested, relaxed and thankful for having taken that hour to be exceptionally kind to myself. The bonus of my skin not showing the world how much stress I am under, and loving what I see in the mirror makes that one hour of downtime worth it. The follow up to maintain this skin is going to take work on my part. I'm going to have to take better care of my skin, and Fiona was able to suggest products and a routine to target areas of concern. She recommended only getting four PCA peels a year, so it's super important that I maintain the effects with at-home care. I'm worth the commitment, and so are the results!

I asked if there was any way to adjust my service, and I was told they would work with me and that the owner would call me that week to discuss a solution. On the day of the appointment, I received my facial (which was fine) and was told again that the owner would reach out soon to arrange something for the unused massage portion. But I never received a call. When I followed up afterward, I was told that because I booked in a group, they would not offer any accommodation--such as store credit or gift card--even after explaining my medical situation. Given that I personally spent $360 and our group spent around $1,800 including tip, I expected a basic level of compassion, especially for a postpartum mom with an ongoing medical issue. I wasn't looking for special treatment, just a reasonable accommodation for a service I physically could not receive. Unfortunately, the lack of empathy and unwillingness to work with me given my specific situation was deeply disappointing. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spa. All three have been incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Kiss me recently moved locations and as expected, the new office is gorgeous. The front desk staff is incredibly helpful. Most recently I called looking for a weekend appointment in the morning for myself and a friend. They were able to get me scheduled for the following day (they're typically open one Saturday a month). Linzy was able to get my friend and I in and out quickly without making us feel rushed. I'd also highly recommend following them on instagram and signing up for emails to get notified about their monthly specials. Overall, kiss me has always made me feel very comfortable in what I would consider an intimidating space. Definitely worth booking with them!
