I found Salon Backstage on Yelp, and my wife's been coming here since then, almost 3 years, and it is just now dawning on me that, of all people, I never posted my OWN review. Just look at the business profile picture. That's Steve, the owner/proprietor, and he's terrific. It's not just his gregarious personality, but the way he runs his business and his own excellent skills as a stylist. He really does absolutely nail the red colors. And he's just a lot of fun to be around. It's a very enjoyable experience because the salon is comfortable, I can sit on the couch and use my tablet while my wife gets her hair done. And it's not just the color that he gets right so consistently well, but also the cut. I really like the short style my wife has and Steve does a great job all around - the top looks great, the back is nice and clean, sides are awesome, too. You can, of course, purchase hair related products at the salon, but also other items (jewelry, for example). And I like the cool art, the posters and photos on the call. But the important part is the hair cutting and coloring and as I said, Steve does a consistently great job on both. We drive about 45 minutes to come here. Once you find a stylist you like, you stick with them. It's totally worth the drive. The hair treatment is great, Steve is fun, and the salon is comfortable to hang out in.

If you want to get a fantastic cut and color, book with John Alexander there! I have short hair and he really knows short cuts. But I do have a friend that sees him for her shoulder length hair. I wasn't here just for a color, I was here for an experience. Tru uses only natural products. The color swatch books showed some really vibrant colors. I couldn't decide so Tru talked me into a bright orange- the only color I haven't done before. I pretty much left my hair in her hands. In a few hours I had an amazing new look. I'm so glad I trusted her. I'll be back for more color touchups soon!

Tru took the time to chart my daughters hair type and what treatments she used in her hair to refer to at future appointments. She was very excited to educate my daughter on how to care for her hair. After a treatment and trim my daughters hair felt amazing and looked so healthy. The ladies did an amazing job styling her hair. They were very creative with the braids they put in. There is no 'receptionist' but the Stylists know when their appointments are coming in, or if you are a regular... you just pop into the studio of your Stylist and let them know you are there. The layout is that each stylist has their very own private room which I LOVE. I have been going to Staci for 6 years - she is amazing with color, and I love the different cuts she has done one my hair. She is actually a rep/educator for Sexy Hair so I feel like she stays on top of what is current and relevant with style and color. Totally recommend her! Her prices are fair and reasonable - for the quality you get. You have to book way in advance if you are picky about when you can come in as she books up fast.
