Christo's has been in Concord for a very long time. I will say the food is really good. Flavor is definitely there. Hence the 4 stars. Just visited again tonight with my husband and we are still loving this place!! Super friendly and welcoming staff. They are all very attentive and helpful. It's a great place with lots of amazing types of food, but our fave is the small pizza with 3 toppings and 5 wings combo!!! It's super affordable and absolutely delicious!!! I highly recommend trying this combo and tasting the hot wings!!!! Oh, and the onion rings are fried fresh and they're huge!!! The ranch and bleu cheese tastes house made and so creamy! The hot sauce on the wings is spicy, peppery, and really unique! This place isn't fancy, I do think when new people try it, they see the nice statues out front, and they have high expectations of what the inside should look/feel like. It's an older building and nothing fancy, but the food is consistently delicious, fresh, and hot, and that's why you go and keep going back!! The super friendly staff is another amazing bonus! I had dinner with my guy, he loves Christo's. Our waitress was very pleasant. She shared that she recently started working at Christo's. We ordered the large pizza and wing combo. Both were delicious! This is a family style restaurant and this location is in Concord NC. There's no wine, beer, or liquor but the atmosphere is friendly and you can engage in great conversation. Since Covid has become a thing of the past so has effort in the kitchen. I always add extra garlic bread to my Chicken Parmesan as they made it in house. Last few times it's been mostly plain bread no butter or garlic. I did let them know and it was corrected with an extra order. It's been a while since my last visit due to that so I tried again since I don't live as close anymore to enjoy once again to my surprise plain bread. Went back a few weeks later, and sewer was backing up through a floor drain near the bathroom entrance 10 feet from where we were sitting. I love Christo's and have been a frequent customer from day one. The place is a little dated but once you see the menu and all they offer you will forget the decor. The menu is extensive and they offer everything from classic greek dishes to down-home southern dishes. Being a fan of chicken wings is one of the reasons I frequent this establishment. Once a month Christo's has a customer appreciation night with all you can eat wings & pizza. The owner is like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld and he can be found constantly yelling which gives the restaurant its atmosphere. A group of arrived there about 2 hours before closing. The restaurant was conveniently located near us. The food was not even fair, to say the least. One of the people in our group ordered the half chicken which came out "black". Not the crisp golden brown color you'd expect chicken to be. Another ordered the seafood dinner (fish and clams) which was also "black". Not burnt "black", it didn't taste or smell burnt, but "black"! It taste as if they took a pre-cooked smoked or some flavor of chicken and tried to convert it into fried chicken. It even had the smoked flavor. The chef salad was a simple head of lettuce (not mixed lettuce or romaine) with shredded cheese, an egg and sliced cold cuts. It may have had a tomatoe or cucumber slice (nothing exciting or tasty) The dressings, whether you ordered bleu cheese or ranch, all tasted the same. The meatloaf was simply hamburger meat with brown gravy, not much seasoning at all (salt only). We could have cooked at home and enjoy more flavorable, tastier, presentable food. Worst experience ever. If I could give them a lower star I would. My son ordered milk to drink and it was chunky. The salads didn't come out until after the meal. All the while we asked our waitress about said salads to which the kitchen staff loudly and rudely complained and told the waitress to make them wait longer. We also ordered chicken Alfredo which tasted sour. The ceilings had mold on them and when we went to leave the biggest roach I've ever seen flew off the doors leading to the bathroom. This is a good place to go for comfort food. We had a party of 6 dine here for lunch and two members got the friend chicken combo with wings, one got the roasted turkey meal. With the exception of the mac and cheese being super greasy--they all thought the food met their expectations and left feeling pleased. Three of us ordered salads and they just were not good. The salad was simply a bowl of iceburg lettuce with one chunk of cucumber, one slice of tomato and some onion. I personally ordered shrimp on mine, and was incredibly grossed out by the fact that the shrimp was not de-veined. I feel like whenever shrimp is served in a restaurant, the shrimp should be cleaned. On Aug 28,2021 I took my mom there for her birthday dinner because for some reason, she loves this place. It was my son, my mom, and I. Kitty, who is the older lady that works there, greets us as we walk in and comes over to our table to take our order. After taking our order and as we're waiting for our food, I notice Kitty spot scrubbing the carpet with a white towel and her bare hands. As she heads back behind the counter, she picks up a to go box and put it on top of the other ones that customers will use, all with the same hand that she hasn't washed. I see this and I go to counter and ask her if I can speak with her to the side (because other people were in line, I didn't want anyone to hear me). As she's coming to me, she's wiping her hands with a white towel. I ask her if she could wash her hands because I seen her scrub the floor. She gets totally offended starts yelling at me saying "I washed my hands, you wanna see me wash em again!?" I said to her that yes I would! She puts her down into a bucket filled with water, looks at me and says "it has bleach in it are you satisfied!?" I said "no ma'am I'm not! Go use a sink with water and soap!" She says, "it's in the bathroom, you wanna follow me in there and watch me!?' Then she says "matter of fact, here's your food, you wanna carry it yourself?" Now I'm trying to remain calm because I don't want to ruin my mom's dinner but she was really testing my patience! I told her to put on gloves and bring our food to the table! So I looked over to the younger girl and asked her and she says the only person over her is the owner and they can't contact him. To start off walking through the door tables were covered in dirty dishes and cups from older customers due to short staff. We waited over and hour for our food and while we were there all we got were 4 cheese sticks and our drinks. When we asked how much longer our food would be the waitress said that she didn't know and she had not checked then later stated that our orders we 3 orders behind still AFTER AN HOUR because they only have one focus and that is TOGO!!!!! When we told them not to even start our food ( key part not even started) the waitress was extremely rude and was going to charge us and very loudly while walking away said "yes I am charging you everyone in here is waiting"... Overpriced junk! Quality of food is lacking just a mediocre place that does nothing for concord!

We used to come here more often, however, this time was our last experience. They were under staffed, had one lady manning the tables. One lady at the register, and I'm unsure what the cleanup lady was doing, but she wasn't cleaning up. Tables were left with leftover food. Flies were flying around the restaurant, there are ceiling tiles with black mold and most, if not all the ceiling tiles, are drooping in the restaurant. The tiles above the drink looked wet, and the drink containers were open on the top. The bathroom had bugs in the lights and mold in the caulking as well as toilets not seated properly. The restaurant needs to update and repair their dining area, and it brought into question how the kitchen area looked, if they were ok with black mold being on several of the tiles in the dining area. We looked at the sanitation grade of the restaurant and it seemed to not be an official piece of paper, but a copy. The last sanitation grade this restaurant had was a 93 in Sept. 20, according to my research, however the comments for the grade mentioned there was mouse/rat poop in the kitchen in several places and they needed to keep it cleaned up. As for the food we ordered, we ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and wings. The wings were good. The pizza came with a tremendous amount of grease, so much that we dabbed the grease with at least 20 napkins. And there was no chicken on it? We told the waitress, and she told the kitchen and they argued about it. Then she brought us out some chicken to put on it, at our request. Good parts, the waitress was kicking it and handling as much as she could, with all the clientell she had to handle. I was proud of her and the lady at the register was attempting to assist when she could. We have been wondering when they are going to clean up the dining area and do some upgrades, and now am guessing they aren't and they are just letting the place dwindle. The parking lot, as well, has a bunch of holes in the pavement and you have to drive around them to get into the parking lot. We saw a mouse trap outside of the restaurant, so that increased our thoughts they have or had a mouse issue. We are getting grossed out with this restaurant and have decided not to return. read more

I went here for lunch one day because it was close to my house. i really wasn't impressed honestly i wasn't sure what kind of restaurant this is even is , diner? maybe? so with a huge sign out front saying "WINGS & PIZZA" i ordered a wings and pizza. the pizza came with corn on it ? and the wings sauce was marinara sauce not buffalo or any kind of wing sauce you would think? the place inside looks like it hasn't been remodeled since the 70's the service was excellent but until they remodel this place and change up there menu i really don't see myself going here again anytime soon. read more

Ordered 20 wings and a chef's salad to pickup. The waitress said about 15 minutes to be ready. I arrived 5 minutes after the call and my order was ready. I live less than 1/8 of a mile from Christos. Got home to find cold, tough wings. They looked like they had been sitting for a while. They also had no sauce, just grease on the bottom. The chef's salad is also alot smaller that it used to be! Very disappointing. I haven't been to Christo's for a while. It used to be much better. I went for lunch and got an Italian Sub to split with my husband. Something I have gotten many times and was very good. This time the meat was very skimpy and a lot of sauce. It was more bread and sauce than anything. And I think the size was smaller than usual. The amount of fries given was also skimpy. I have noticed the downhill trend. The last few times we got a pizza there they were terrible. What a disgrace. We went here because they supposedly had Greek food. After waiting for 10 minutes the waitress finally took our order. I ordered the Gyro platter. What she brought me was an abomination. The Gyro meat looked like dog food from a can. It was greasy and resembled a chopped up hamburger patty. The pita was oily and extremely thin. It resembled a bad tortilla. When I asked the waitress if the Gyro meat was a frozen patty or cut from a spit, she replied, "It came from a stick". Add all this to the 1970's decor and you had all the makings of a horror movie. I would avoid this place and keep driving up the road to "The Gateway To Athens". Never in my life have I had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for 50 wings they took people ahead of me and kept saying I was the next person in line then my total was $69.52 for 50 wings and when I asked for ranch dressing they said the ranch did not come with it and it will be $0.75 a piece, this is my last time getting wings from Crisco the service was not good tonight, not good and the way they let people go in front of me was unprofessional and you couldn't even give me any ranch for my 50 hot wings and I spent almost $70 with you, but What Hurts the Most is I sat there quietly patiently playing my game waited never mumbled or said a word I even watch them give out dressing and asked how many dresses they wanted to go with their order and did not charge the people in front of me for dressing,I didn't say a word or give them attitude I just sat there quietly and patiently waiting and to be done like that it is is very unacceptable Even the young lady I paid my money too was very nasty to me.And when I got home and open my bag I paid almost 70 for a mess, just very hurt at how people can be at this time in our life read more
