Hi my friend and I had dinner at Pier 51 on yesterday. Athough, I have seen this restaurant sitting here for years. I had never tried it. I'm glad that I decided to try it. We dined in and our server was Harmoni. She was very pleasant, upbeat and friendly and mind you the restaurant closed in one hour when we were seated. Because it was both of our first time visiting here it was hard to decide on what we should order. Harmoni made suggestions and gave honest feedback about the menu. I ordered a grill seafood platter with collard greens and broccoli. The food is prepared fresh to order, and it was very good without being too salty. My friend ordered a fried seafood platter with fish and oysters. I would like to come back here much more often but most likely I will just order on DoorDash. Harmoni and the young girl with braids had great customer service, but "everyone" else was just kind of subpar. The food here is consistently good. The entrees all arrived hot and nicely seasoned. We appreciate that they do not cut through the aluminum foil wrapped around the baked potatoes. The salads are freshly made and the prices are reasonable. However the service was unusually slow and tables had not been bussed from the previous rush, which was not typical for this restaurant. I hope this was a one-off event for the restaurant's usual clean floors and tables and not the new standard. I would hate a business with great food is impacted by uncleanliness. I'll definitely give them another chance to correct it by my next visit. read more

What you see is a plate of jumbo shrimp, fried catfish and perch with a sweet potato and hush puppies. Overall, the fish was crispy and not soaked in grease. So was the shrimp. I just need a sprinkle of old bay or something. The sweet potato and butter was good. I recently returned from a business trip and decided to try them out. Always drove past, my husband and I thought they closed. We were greeted and our waitress was so sweet! She made sure we had everything we needed and have suggestions. The food reminded me of the fish camps back at home: the portion size is huge and the food was AMAZING!!! Everything was fresh and she even recommended this red slaw which was delicious!!!! I had the flounder and calabash shrimp plate with okra and sweet potato casserole! I RECOMMEND!!!! I really enjoyed their combination platters that they offer. I loved their calabash shrimp and baby flounder platter. They give you nice portions for your money and they are friendly with great customer service. They also have delicious desserts too. Check them out when you can. I LOVE their shrimp and hush puppies!!!! I have been here a few times now and have never left unhappy. My brother eats here at minimum 3 times a week. Since I live in New York I can only come here once or twice a year but I ALWAYS want to stop here for good seafood! The service is great and the waitress had a smile on her face. Stopped in at Pier 51 for some Friday night seafood. My family loves Pier 51, the food is so fresh and the service is great. There's usually no wait to be seated, unless you come on Saturday during dinner time or Sunday where family's and groups come after church and there's a discount if you bring the church bulletin and they give a daily 10% senior discount. read more

First of all the food was delicious. It was fresh, hot and served at the perfect temp.I ordered OFF menu! Yes, the owner/chef made a special chicken dish for me- smothered chicken tenders! These were no ordinary tenders, not some frozen product sold in bulk. No, these were hand cut, breaded, then fried and SMOTHERED with the best gravy, onion and mushroom combo!! I can't rave enough about how good it was. We were a party of 4 and everyone loved thier food! The staff was EXCEPTIONAL!! It's a very unassuming place, the building is older, but VERY CLEAN!! Once upon a time, this was a Chinese Buffet. Big Improvement. This location has been many things over the years but generally set up for a Buffet. At the same time, Pier 51 was always an excellent Seafood Restaurant on NC Hwy 51 aka Pineville- Matthews Road hence the name. Since this location opened as a Pier 51, I've wanted to try it and today we were in the Concord area doing some last minutes shopping and ended up here. Still in the last stages of remodeling with the outside being given another coat of fresh paint but the place is looking good with an attractive make over. Walked in and were immediately seated. Since I am on crutches due to a hip injury, they seated me at a nice booth with easy access to everything. Loved the menu with something for everyone. Nice salad bar and we both started with that. Limited selection of dressings but they do have all of the basics. I ordered the create your own combo with Salt and Pepper Catfish and Oysters prepared the same way with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. Excellent choice, particularly the oysters Wife had stuffed crabs with friend okra. Must say their portion sizes are generous. I had not visited this restaurant since pre-Covid. It is no longer a buffet which is actually a good thing. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Unfortunately, the server we had was horrible and the "manager" was apologetic but really no help. It took about 30 minutes to get our meal and the server rolled her eyes when we asked for more hush puppies while we waited. She never brought any back but the "manager" did after we caught her dashing through the restaurant looking for another customers requested condiments. Our party of four sat down and placed our order and after waiting an hour listening to many excuses from the waitress we finally gave up and walked out. One person in our party ordered the same AYCE fish that I ordered. He got his original order and even his reorder ate and we still didn't have any food. There were several other tables that had sat down after us and they were done eating and we still never got any food. My first impression was disappointment. I saw the prices and had initially thought that it would be a better bang for your buck. BUT when I realized you get the salad bar with every meal, and hush puppies, that changes everything. Especially when the salad bar includes potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, ham bacon CEASAR dressing and the salad was the freshest I've ever seen on a salad bar. Now I am a huge fan of places with large portions for modest prices, so this place was a huge win for me. Got the seafood trio with shrimp flounder and deviled crab. Got the salt and pepper breading which made it better than normal breading. Baked potato was not an upcharge from fries (thanks for not nickel and dining me!) Great service, clean Resturant and food was excellent. We had the broiled grouper off the special board, and the wife had flounder and shrimp combo plate. Both were extremely delicious and tasty with just the right amount of seasonings. Our waitress Briton was great even though she had a very large party at the same time. Heard about this place from my brother, who like l is a road warrior. I have had two lunch to go meals within the month of October. Flounder, fries, hush puppies and slaw. Nothing disappointed me, very lite breading on the flounder...fresh tasting, like flounder should. Puppies were very good...and l have chosen Many A BBQ places based on their puppies! What a perfect homestyle family friendly seafood restaurant. When you first walk in you will be greeted by a friendly hostess. Restaurant have two sides. It's pretty big. The New England Clam Chowder is so good with plenty of clams and just the right combination of potatoes and cream. Then, move on to catfish, oysters, and crab legs. Realizing that Covid has created issues with many restaurants, I have to be a little understanding. I've eaten here on several occasions and the food has always been good. Prepared well and served hot. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable . The last few times, I have felt sorry for the hostess. Her job consist of seating, taking phone orders and taking payments. At the busier time this slows seating and paying. This lady has extreme patience and does not get rattled, taking everything in order. I would think that the management would at least during busier times have a cashier to at least give the hostess some help. Some were not understanding and would leave. read more

It was our first time at Pier 51 in Concord. The seafood was delicious, the steak I had was cooked perfectly, the salad was a bit on the small side and the onion rings were cold. Our waitress was so nice and never let our drinks get more than 1/2 empty. Made plenty of stops at our table to make sure we were happy. A bit on the pricey side but seafood is expensive so we expected it. The place was bright and clean. Will definitely go there again. read more
