A quaint little restaurant in downtown Crossville. Friendly service. We were a party of 4 dining prior to a show at the Palace theater. Chicken wings were on special so we decided to grab them and some fried pickles and a side of fries. Pickles were definitely too salty and it took a while for them to even find the dipping sauce. French fries were as expected. Wings were a bit of a disappointment. We all did the dry rub and the flavor did not really come through. Will skip them next visit. They're known for their burgers so next time maybe we will try that. read more

Been here several times before but this time was unimpressed, A 1/2 pound hamburger should have a larger bun and a appropriate sized piece of cheese. Asked for medium/medium rare but came well done. Fortunately, burger was still juicy. Ordered onion rings, mediocre at best. We came in the back door, no one greeted us from behind the bar, they were just standing around , not even eye contact. When the waiter came to the table he was welcoming and friendly but did said "no problem " to my request for a "medium" burger. The place feels more like a dive bar than a pub or restaurant. My friend and I visited this location during the summer and it was my first and only visit. The service is extremely slow, it took about 45 minutes to get an order of nachos and a burger. When placing the order my friend requested extra sour cream on the nachos and when they were delivered there was no sour cream. We waited another 10 minutes for our waitress to come back around and she informed us they were out of sour cream -- which could have been communicated prior to us ordering since we explicitly asked for extra. Stopped for lunch during a road trip. The ambiance was casual and fun, if a bit noisy (it was a weekend, after all). The food was tasty and good portions. The service was guardedly friendly (it was clear we weren't locals). Unfortunately, they seemed unexpectedly short handed... it took over an hour before our food (two hot dogs) were served. Came here in the middle of a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. We had wings (teriyaki and mild), fries, onion rings and a pork tenderloin sandwich. Service was good. Ambiance was a comfortable pub feel and cleanliness was good. I haven't had any good wings in over a year, so I ordered them. Wings were big and meaty. Cooked perfectly with a crispy outside and a moist inside. Not overcooked. The sauces were also good. My wife got the pork tenderloin sandwich. We used to live in Iowa (which had fantastic tenderloin sandwiches). She had not had a really good tenderloin sandwich in the southeast until today. She said it was as good or better than Iowa sandwiches. A high praise indeed. We will return here again and recommend this place to our friends. read more

Fun little (not really little) place! Staff was extremely personable and service was as great. A small miscommunication between our waitress and myself and she was super quick to rectify it. Price was great for portion sizes. Menu has lots of interesting choices. My husband got a hot dog that was huge covered in bacon queso and fries. He loved it! We will definitely be back next time we are in the area! Update We went back again tonight to watch the UT game and to try some craft beers and pizza. We tried the Big Kahuna (Hawaiian). I accidentally ordered the 1 lb burger ‍and it ended up being great! It's close to 2 inches thick and cooked to perfection. I wish their chef could give classes in how to cook a burger. Taylor was our waitress and she was awesome. Christy the owner visited our table and was a delight. The banjo and guitar were her fathers. My most recent experience dining at CPG was a disaster. Nothing wrong with the food, but the length of time to get it was TOO long. Over 30 minutes waiting to order. Another 75 minutes before most of the people at our table were served. Two people at our table had to wait another 10 minutes for their food. Total time to order and eat: 2 hours! CPG either has staffing issues or their dining space exceeds their kitchen's capacities. My recommendation: eat here only when it's not crowded. That way, you won't be disappointed. read more

My first time there and we loved it. The atmosphere was old school & very cool...... the menu was incredible, so many things I wanted to try. I settled on the Plain Jane Burger, as did my wife. I got the house chips and my wife got the French fries, both were very good. And the burger was near perfect and very tasty. It was a 1/2 pound burger,you wife isn't a fan of burgers but decided to try it, I knew she was going to need a box to take most of it home, guess I was wrong, she ate 3/4 of it, I finished the other 1/4, even though she put ketchup and mustard on it . We stopped in to try Christy's in Sparta the other night. It was really good!! I got a daggit (great quality hot dog) and my husband got a burger. My favorite thing we got was their delicious + crispy fried green tomatoes with "tiger" sauce aka spicy ranch! SO yummy!! My only complaint is the ranch for the salad. We stumbled upon Christy's pub grub while taking a drive from Knoxville one fine Sunday afternoon. Just kickin' the dust and rust off the ole jalopy so to speak. CPG, What a find! We were delighted with the food which can best be described as rich, of pretty high-quality and super tasty to boot!! And, all without emptying yer derned wallet. The owners--a delightful husband [Kevin] and wife [Christy] team--were very gracious, pleasant and kind. The decor is eclectic and visually stimulating within a historic setting. You can look for hours and never see the same thing twice, serving my ADD quite well, thank you very much. It is conveniently located and with plenty of parking in the old downtown section of Crossville. K&C offer a variety of entertainment and love to party, in a down-home wholesome kinda way. We were not there at the time they had one of their break out flash parties, but we heard great things about it. We actually look forward to returning when we have time to stay and enjoy one of their theme party shindigs. But let's get back to the food, undoubtedly the best part of this fine dining establishment. As mentioned in the beginning, this is not for the steamed broccoli and snow peas crowd. So don't you go into this thinking otherwise--as if you're going to weigh in 5 pounds lighter the next morning--because, as Steven Tyler would tell you, Dream On. But, that's OK. We went for lunch today. We were seated immediately. Took 20 minutes for our order to be taken. It took 90 minutes to get our main course. Absolutely ridiculous. The waitress kept thanking us for our patience. The food was okay. We have eaten there several times before and at worst it took an hour to order and get our food. Waiting almost 2 hours at a table for food is unacceptable. There were 7 of us. Two in our party got their food 15 minutes after the rest of our party. We will not be returning. read more
