They installed a full solar panel system plus two Tesla Powerwall batteries for us, and the entire process was excellent from start to finish. They were very straightforward, easy to work with, and never overly salesy, which I really appreciated. The install went smoothly, and the crew, Jorge, Isaac, Cesar, D'lo, and Thomas, did an awesome job. Gabe, the owner, has also been super responsive with any questions along the way. I had a really positive experience and would definitely recommend Aloha Solar Power to anyone considering solar.

First and foremost Gabe at Aloha Solar was the ONLY one where it didn't feel sales pitchy. He went to college for this, believe he grew up off grid on Maui and you can tell right away he's knowledgeable and a straight shooter. Not to mention he had the best pricing and deal out of every other company! Gabe made us feel comfortable with our decision, gave us all the information we wanted, and actually drove out to our house multiple times to chat when we had additional questions and concerns. Is Aloha a smaller company, yes, but will Gabe answer your call when needed, yes! Fast forward install happened within a couple weeks of signing the deal. Minas was the head installer it seemed (all people are internal employees with Aloha and work is NOT contracted out, that was a big seller for us), and two other guys Rigo and Matt. All were super nice and very professional. Minas walked me through everything at the end, and major bonus points once he installed the piping going from battery to roof, he asked if I had paint that matched the exterior of my house. I did, and he then painted all of the piping! I know he did not have to do that, so that was a fantastic touch. If you're thinking about solar, trust me, I did the research and I spoke to all of the sales people. GO WITH ALOHA! You will NOT be disappointed. Thanks to Gabe and the team!

Out of all the companies I contacted, San Diego Solar Install offered the best overall solar + battery package for the price. I initially reached out through their website and received a prompt response from Bruce, the owner. He's extremely personable, takes the time to answer every question, and genuinely addresses any concerns. He's one of the rare solar professionals who truly cares about his customers rather than just making a sale. Chad, Ian, and the rest of the installation team did a meticulous job installing both the solar panels and batteries, all within a tight timeline. The quality of their work really shows--see the attached photos for yourself. As I'm writing this at night, my home is running entirely off the Enphase batteries with zero power being pulled from the grid, which really highlights how well the system is performing. The other Yelp reviews definitely don't lie!

He knows his stuff and even used to teach college courses on solar back in the day. Another company had a rep come over and she didn't know jack about solar - she was mainly a realtor doing it as another income source. He gave both of us a great feeling and was competitively priced. We liked that he keeps things simple and just installs the best, didn't try to upsell us when he could've, and wasn't "salesy" or high-pressure. Glad we hired him. We've had the solar for months and still happy.

I have pulled nominal amounts of power from the grid since March, instead running over 99.5% of my needs on solar + batteries. Full electric household (no gas hookup) and 2 EVs. The solar + batteries are able to do it all. The power that does get pulled from the grid I believe is from large loads momentarily allowing electrons to flow in from the grid while the batteries match the load. My last bill imported a grand total of 4 kWh from the grid. Now that the weather has started getting hot, the system still performing exceptionally and not pulling any energy from SDG&E. I keep the AC at 69 degrees during the day and down to 67 overnight. System is still able to satisfy the load and keep me comfortable. I've taken to describing my system as "Selfish Solar". I use as much energy as I need at a time that's convenient for me. No more avoiding running appliances, AC & more during those most expensive parts of the day. Could not recommend a system like this any higher. Currently looking at less than an 8 year payback period. Will probably be even faster than that because I'm not considering future price increases from the utility. Attached is a screenshot of my last bill from SDG&E as well as what the Tesla app estimates it saved during the same time period.
