Overall, Preman did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them to family and friends. The best aspect of Preman's service was having a dedicated Project Manager (Santos Aspeitia). Each day Santo provided us with comprehensive updates on the work that was done. Our questions and concerns were answered immediately. Santo's follow-up and follow-through was impeccable. My Roof job was a complete replacement - old shingles were destroyed by unprecedented rain event - so job was simple: remove all old surfaces and replace with new .. They also recommended, and I agreed, to complete over-sheathing with new plywood since the original was dry and liable to splintering. Roof Workers did a good job and were meticulous, though there were some specific errors which I think would have gone uncorrected if I wasn't here. However .. I am still waiting for my warranty papers and final receipt after a month has gone by :-( read more

My house is 100 years old. It is not easy to work on. Preman replaced my flat roof and replaced the (100 year old) knob and tube with up to date wiring a year ago. Workers and projector managers were wonderful, considerate, and quick. Replacing the knob and tube was a chore and the job took longer than projected but I'd rather they take longer and get it right. There was a bit of lack of coordination between the roofing people and the electrical people, but that was due to the complexity of the wiring and they worked it out. The price was fair, even more than fair for the work. Yesterday, my lights they rewired started blinking and fading. I called Preman's office after 5Pm (they were already closed) yet this morning I received 2 calls and then a repair visit by 9:30am. after 2/1/2 hours, they found a wire with a small cut that was causing the issue. It was repaired by noon. Preman work is good, their people are great and they uphold their warranties! read more

Preman wants the check and then they are gone. My roof and solar were installed in Dec 2020. Not only does the solar not generate as much power as they promised, the roof also has shotty work. We have called the company and had people out to our house several times. First we will start with the solar generation. We were told by Robert at the time of purchase that the amount of panels that we purchased would generate enough power to power our home and additional dwelling unit. 2 years after that I owed the power company $626, Why did I get Solar? When we told Robert and Alex about the generation and it not being what we were told, They told us it is a he said she said situation and they would not be making any changes to our solar. So we contacted the solar panel provider enphase, Enphse told us that there is in fact something wrong with our production. Alex told my husband he would not being providing us additional panels or moving any to produce more energy. Alex also told us that he is where our complaint would stop. Now lets talk about the roof. When the roof was installed in 2020 as well. most planks that needed to be replaced, were only half way replaced rotting wood remained on some sections of the roof. We have a covered deck that they put new roofing material on. All of the nails are visible from the underside of deck. I called to tell them about it, they painted the nails that I can still see. I can go on and on about the imperfections on the roof. We have now gotten to the point where they are willing to fix the rotting wood that was left and covered so we wouldn't notice. However they want us to pay cost for their poor workmanship. If there is actually an Aaron Preman we are not allowed to talk to you and have been told several times that we would not be getting any further than Alex, and that no more services would be provided under our 15 year warranty. Aaron, if you are real just know that your employees ethics and customer service is not anywhere near to what you say about Preman's mission. read more

Preman Roofing & Solar was the first roofing company I contacted via a search with the Better Business Bureau in September 2023. Preman was also the only company of three to answer the phone on my first call! Marissa was friendly & knowledgeable. After listening to my need for roof replacement and solar re-installation, she asked if I would answer a few specific questions about my home. Less than 5 minutes later an appointment was scheduled within 4 business days at a time of day I selected. Robert called me and was available to arrive an hour earlier than planned due to a cancellation. I was overjoyed! Robert greeted me with smile & firm handshake. He asked a few questions regarding any known problem areas, leaks or concerns. I asked if Preman Roofing & Solar would reinstall the 10 solar panels stored in my garage using the electrical system currently attached to my roof. They were in working order when removed for recommended roof replacement in May. After Robert completed his roof & solar equipment inspection he provided an estimate of work & a detailed description of the de-roof, re-roof, solar re-installation process. He reviewed cost, materials, & outlined a job / project timeframe including solar re-installation. We mutually agreed to a date 8-10 weeks in the future based on San Diego County area roofing needs post unusual rain levels & own availability. A written copy of the estimate was left with me. Approximately 3 business days later I received an email with documents to review and sign electronically. I chose to drive to the office to drop off the required down payment & was warmly greeted by Darlene. I am so glad I did! Darlene is the go-to person for any questions you have before, during and after job completion. She is an excellent communicator and gets your question answered by the right person in the right department. She is available through the Customer Service prompt when you call Preman Roofing & Solar. Rain delays postponed the project. This was clearly & efficiently communicated via email & in a follow up phone call. Once rain stopped work began in earnest. The crew was on time and explained the work for the day. Demolition began once landscape areas were covered, clean up drop cloths were placed & safety cones & tape displayed At the end of each work day I received roof pictures, an outline of work accomplished & the next day's work goals. Roof plywood replacement needs, amount of plywood & installed cost were communicated via email & in person. Roofing was completed in 5 days. A Supervisor arrived toward the end of day 5 with additional pictures, verbally reported work completion & had me sign the paperwork. I also wrote the final check. Solar re-reinstallation was started & completed the following morning. By 12:30pm my home was generating solar power & was tracking on my Solar App. I did contact the office to clarify if additional payment was necessary as the solar re-installation had not yet taken place at the time I wrote the final check. Darlene followed up on my emails and I was informed by the Accounting & Roofing Operations departments that my check included the total payment necessary. Overall: Preman Roofing & Solar beat their project timeline (completed in 5.5 days vs. bid at 6-8 days) AND the bid was spot on! My roof is beautiful & has been well tested since its completion on December 8, 2023. I highly recommend Preman Roofing & Solar; in fact a wonderful neighbor is embarking on his roofing & solar reinstallation project with Preman in the coming weeks! read more

My husband and I had a leaky old roof/skylight that had already been repaired before, so I started looking into a full replacement. As I started my research, I began educating myself on solar and it's cost savings in addition to the tax incentives. We have a pool and our bill isn't cheap. This resulted in me shopping for MAINLY a roofing company (because what good is solar on a crappy roof?!) that could potentially instal solar as well. I met with a handful of companies varying from roofing only to solar only and others that combined them. We decided to invest in solar since the financing costs coming back (after the solar rebate) we're adding up to the same we paid monthly for our electric bill alone- we decided to actually pull the trigger and add HVAC to the mix. Preman subbed the HVAC out and was very transparent and organized in coordinating. I met with the subs personally before hand and was comfortable using the company they recommended and the quote they provided. (Not to ruin the ending but they ended up being awesome) Robert also I intro'd me to a lender with good rates and I started the loan process so we could finance everything and make this huge improvement on our home without taking a home equity loan out- I looked into that since I'm a Realtor and personally know many lenders- the lending/funding fees were actually insane. It financially would NOT have made sense doing it that way. Out of everyone I met with no one came close to being as organized, competent, and easy to work with as Preman. Every department has a leader and those leaders and I were looped into a daily email chain with updates, photos, and answers to any questions I had. It was really efficient. Any issues were addressed immediately and professionally. To be honest, they went above and beyond to turn on my solar on NEW YEARS EVE (the literal last day of 2019 for the rebate!!) so it really makes recommending them and leaving this review a no brainer. 100% call them. read more

Don't expect them to follow through with warranty or even follow up with you after job is complete. Preman roofing replaced our entire roof and installed our solar in Oct 2019. The roof replacement and solar install went well however, we started a warranty repair in Aug 2023 and have yet to have the work completed properly. First, a tech was sent out and they did a temporary reseal on an area of roof that came up. I was told material is on order for proper repair. I was told a month later that the material had come in and someone would reach out to schedule repair...... Nothing....... Weeks go by and then was told that the tech doesn't work there and new tech would reach out and schedule..... Nothing! Called and emailed multiple times with the same response, "someone will reach out to schedule repair." Called yet again after a couple more weeks and was told they knew nothing of the repair... I then forwarded all emails and pics to their customers service with the same response, "someone will reach out in the next couple days." Nothing again! After calling and complaining that the damaged area is getting worse and needs to be repaired properly I was told everything got forwarded to the owner and still nothing... When asked for contact information for owner I was told they can't give that out... Really, no office number or business email????? I do not recommend this company. I can't express how happy I am with the new roof I received from Preman roofing. I received a quote from Danny who gave me many options and even allowed me to make some significant changes to the original plan a few months later. When I finally started the project and sent in my deposit right before December I was a little concerned from the yelp reviews about delays and poor customer service. I called a few days later after they received their deposit and they said they would let me know when it would be added to their schedule as I really wanted to put my xmas lights up and had another remodeling project I wanted to get started on after the roof was completed. Within a few days they got back to me, let me know the schedule and they were out within 2 weeks and got the roof completed within 4 days! There was a lot of dry rot and termite damage which they offered I can repair on my own. I opted for their guy to make the repairs because he seemed really sharp and pointed out everything that needed to be replaced. What took him 5 hours probably would have taken me much longer to complete. I even gave him a few gallons of outdoor paint and he painted the primed repairs for me at no additional cost! All I can say is GREAT JOB! The repairs were great and the finished project was even better. My gutters actually work now as well! Beautiful Roof! Thanks again Preman Roofing! If you're thinking about using Preman Roofing pay attention! I found this company through Home Advisor who set up an appointment for a free quote before I even knew anything about them. After looking at the Yelp reviews I was a bit concerned and you might be as well, but keep reading. It was a free quote so I went with it. I asked for a ballpark quote when Robert came to see our house and he said he didn't like giving rough estimates before calculating everything but he told me between $7,000 and $9,000 for our whole house reroof. I found some better quotes and planned on canceling Preman's follow up meeting, but the cancelation didn't go through in time and Robert showed up again at our house. I'm glad he did because he ended up coming in at $6,200 which was our second lowest quote and $500 under the guy I would have used. They didn't start work for another 3 weeks. At first, they were going to come on Friday and tear off the old shingles and leave everything else until Monday. It was supposed to rain Monday and the Yelp complaints are all about rain and damage. I raised my fears to Robert and the team and they assured me multiple times that the bad reviews all came from one freak storm and that in both instances they took care of any damages and made everything right. Even so, I asked if they could have it done before the rain or postpone starting until after. Their team generously agreed to work through the weekend. Friday, an unrelated contractor came at 7:30 AM and did the demo work until about noon. A supply company arrived shortly thereafter and loaded all the shingles on to our roof. At 1:30 Preman arrived and checked all damaged wood. We had approximately $800 extra in wood replacement (about what I expected as we had several leaks in our garage). I gave the okay and they began work. They put down black paper and made sure our roof was all sealed up for the night. Saturday they began work in earnest and almost finished completely. I don't quite understand what the foreman told me they still had left but they arrived Monday at 8 AM and beat the rain to get the last bits of finishing touches done. By 10:00 they were all cleaned up and gone. They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves and cleaning our yard every day to make sure it was safe for my kids. If there's any grievance at all it's how they handled the flashing on the roof. Rather than make it look as it had before, they simply painted over the flashing so it wasn't silver but the flashing is still visible. At least it blends in with the rest of our house so as not to be too noticeable. The communication throughout the process was top notch and they were on time and hard working throughout the whole job. They completely finished our roof before moving on to the next job. I confidently recommend Preman Roofing and implore you to ignore bad reviews. If you have any concerns, voice them to Robert or the team and they'll do their best to accommodate you. read more

I rarely write reviews and when I do they are usually for a job well done. In this case I am doing so to benefit others so that they do not experience what we did. We should have checked the reviews before we took our contractor's suggestion with this company (I do not believe he had direct experience with them prior). They damaged our 18-month-old driveway (23k value) by pouring acid on it to "clean up" tire marks from their trucks. They also caused electrical damage with the solar work which could have caused a fire in our house had our lights not gone out and our electrician correcting their work. The roofing and solar was already an expensive job let alone all the problems caused from their mistakes. Their customer service was awful once things went wrong. After their "clean-up" and damage to our driveway we had to call and email them (often without reply) for over a year to resolve the damage. They kept passing us to different employees to reexplain the issue. I can't explain how frustrating this was. We understand that things can go wrong but it is how it is handled that is so important. Their driveway solution was the cheapest and fastest route which involved "painting" our driveway. When we didn't feel comfortable with their solution, we got our own quotes and input. All quotes said the driveway needed to be replaced because of the acid used on it. This is after we just had this whole driveway done less than two years before! Our electrician was appalled but the work that this company did. He does commercial work for big companies and is highly skilled. After Preman worked on our electrical for the solar, the wires were smoking/melting together and could have caused us to lose our house, possibly lives in a fire. When we told Preman about this they tried to switch the blame on our electrician but we had experience with our electrician for years and know his work is great so it made us even more frustrated. We spent so much of our time handling the pull and replace of our driveway and trying to get a solid solution for compensation from this company. They put a lean on our house (which was invalid since they did it too late) when we refused to pay the remainder of our job until an agreement on repair was set. It took us over a year to have the driveway resolved only because we diligently advocated for ourselves and retained a lawyer. We redid the driveway before we received payment through insurance as we didn't trust that it would be handled in a timely manner after their unresponsiveness. We absorbed the cost of the electrical work repair as we wanted to move on and away from our experience with this company. Wish I had positives to share but not for this company. They showed no empathy to their customers and made it clear that they are only concerned about collecting money over integrity and good customer service. Honestly, I have gone back and forth about writing a review. I decided to because I do not want this particular situation to happen to someone less informed. To start from the beginning, my roof is OWNED by my HOA, not myself. My HOA approved me replacing a portion of my roof in order to install solar, so long as I use a licensed and insured roofing contractor, and obtain ALL REQUIRED PERMITS. Danny Tarich, the Project Manager for my job, scheduled my re-roof WITHOUT getting the REQUIRED PERMIT, stating "Was not pulling a permit for this project. It is a partial small section." He did not consult me, as the contracting party, my HOA as the owner of the roof, and unilaterally decided getting a permit for a small job was inconsequential. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. This delayed my roof by over 4 weeks and could have gotten me sued by my HOA or cost me if I decided to sell my house. I contacted my City directly to confirm it WAS REQUIRED, but had I not, they would have done my re-roof without a permit and without even telling me the permit was required. read more

Called for a quote to fix facia on my house. The representative said my roof was in good condition and didn't need replacing. Gave me a price which I agreed to and was told they would call me to schedule an appointment. This was in July. It was the middle of September before I heard from them again. When they came out they said that after inspecting my roof it needed replacement. The price doubled! They worked quickly, but the work on the facia was very disappointing. They were mainly interested in doing the roof while I was concerned about the facia. They cut all the main beams to the house without advising me. read more

I can empathize with several of the recent negative reviews of PreMan Roofing. While they came highly recommended by my contractor, I experienced something very similar to many of the folks who gave 1 star reviews. Very delayed responses from Robert and Angelica regarding scheduling roof maintenance work after signing the contract - requiring multiple calls and emails. When it came to scheduling work, they seem to be purely focused on maximizing profitability for the company at the customer's expense. My job was initially scheduled for Feb 27th, but I received a frantic call from Carlos (project coordinator) on the morning of Feb 17th indicating that they have a team available and he wanted to see if I was open to having my job completed early. I asked whether this was a team that was capable of handling the work for my flat roof and both he and Robert collectively said yes. They sent two individuals (apparently roofers and not trained for maintenance) to my house and they literally did "mickey mouse" work. Spent 1 hour and 45 minutes at my property and applied wet patches (mastic with white wet patch) on my torch down roof, when it should have been torch membrane and 3 course webbing/modified mastic with granules for resealing. I knew something was wrong as asked the two individuals to call for a manager. They said one was coming and when I went out to check on them 30 minutes later, they had left the property and no manager showed and no one called. They then had the audacity to send me my invoice for $2,500 - talk about highway robbery. The following week, Carlos sent out a maintenance supervisor (Jesus Villaral) who was completely stand-up. Acknowledged that all the work was done incorrectly and very sloppily and agreed to scrape off all the caulking sealant / mastic / wet patches and perform the roof maintenance appropriately. He then offered a 2-year warranty on the flat roof against leaks which was confirmed by Carlos to make things right. When I spoke with Alex (the #2 in charge) the morning they were going to redo the work, he retracted on a bona-fide offer made by one of his employees and said that Jesus is not in a position to make any offers like this. I simply explained to him that this is what I was told by his employees by Preman Roofing could not offer this. While Jesus and his team came out and delivered good work the second time around, there are several operational issues with Preman Roofing that are red flags that I would not want others to experience. I shared all this feedback to Alex the #2 in charge from the owner and I sincerely hope they take customer feedback seriously as this was not an experience I would recommend. read more

This company was impressive from the moment they came out with the quote. Great presentation, no pressure and great price. They said it would take 3 days and it did. First day was tearing off the old roof. They showed exactly when they said I would and finished demo within 3 hours. The next team showed up to inspect for any damage so they could get the supplies in time to have them first thing in the morning. The next phase took a day and a half and went very smoothly. They replaced some plywood and a facial board I asked them to fix. Step by step they respected my and my neighbors property. When it was complete, the roof looks amazing and seriously, I have only found two VERY small pieces of old roof in some of my bushes. They were very respectful, clean, safe and did an amazing job. Last year hired Eurotech Construction Services to install a new paint booth at my little shop. Rob Ponto AKA Rob Summers the owner of Euro Tech sub contracted out the botched roof job his guys did to Preman Roofing. I have sent emails and left phone calls about my roof still leaking bad in my building to both Preman Roofing and Ero Tech . Nether will repair the leaks. After Preman repaired the roof I repeatedly asked them for receipts for the re-repair which they refuse to give me. Right before Christmas I found about another10 gallons of water on my roof of my new paint booth and was told the roof of the building is also sagging by another contractor. Preman tried to band aid the hack job Eurotech did. ........... Looks like I'll also be filing against Preman Roofing's contractors license along with Eurotech Construction Services......... read more

Preman roofing has not even started our project yet, but it's already been an obstacle trying to get someone to communicate with us in regards to specifics with our roofing and solar. We have called everyday for information, and to try to finalize a start date for the project, and after multiple phone calls no one has reached out to us. The receptionist continues to say "I'll have my manager reach out to you" but that NEVER happens. We end up having to call the next day and repeat the whole conversation again. It's frustrating how when signing contracts and placing a deposit, they are all so attentive. But after that phase is done, it's like you fall to the bottom of their priority list. I selected Preman's quote from several others based on the the professional approach of their representative and the expert recommendations he offered for the job. The office and crew coordinated well with the solar panel company and the total project took less time than anticipated. The new roof looks great, site cleanup was very good, and no more ceiling leaks after rain! A recent issue with gutters was promptly fixed and covered by their warranty. I am forced to put one star. If I could put zero star I would. After spending a lot of money with this company, what I get in return is bad customer service. And the worse sales rep, unprofessional. A roof that takes a month to get done it took them a year to finish. They don't answer your call they don't respond to your email. I wouldn't recommend Preman roofing.
