What a horrible agent!. We purchased a house and switched insurance agents to make it easier with financing. It was nothing personal against Eric but he took it personal. Our Escrow accidentally sent Eric a check for home owners insurance. Eric sent us an Email at 8am on Christmas Eve and stated "Since you suddenly elected to cancel all policies with this agency, severing all ties" we had 4 hours to contact him or he was setting up our insurance. When did we state we were severing all ties? He has our phone number and decided not to call us relying on email as the only form of communication.. On Christmas Eve! He gave us 4 hours to respond so a phone call was appropriate don't you think! Now we have to send a written letter to cancel the insurance. Very vindictive. read more

CIA is very efficient in getting back to the customer with helpful information once the customer contacts the office. In addition, CIA has access to a wide range of insurance carriers, and it works with each of them to get the best possible deals for the customer. Some of these insurance companies are not in the public eye (e.g. Oregon Mutual), but they often offer competitive, if not, superior insurance coverage and pricing. I was with AAA for almost 18 years. I am no longer with AAA because CIA found a carrier with vastly better insurance coverage terms, and much better prices. Eric is an amazing insurance resource. My husband and I recently bought our first home. There were some issues with the home title and conflicting information in the HOA bylaws that caused a tremendous amount of confusion surrounding our dwelling type and therefore, our insurance needs. Eric raised the pertinent questions for my real estate agent, the HOA and the seller's agent to ensure we were appropriately and fully insured. He pushed back several times when things did not seem right with the information we were getting from the HOA. He protected us from potentially very serious insurance gaps and even being over-insured. As first-time home buyers, we wanted be covered but did not want to have overlap because we didn't have room for unnecessary insurance costs. UPDATE, 9 months later---NOT a very happy customer. Cancelled and had to go elsewhere. Eric, President of the "Company" WAS great when I first signed up over 6 months ago....closer to a year ago now. Funny and ironically enough though, my 6 month premium became due again and my "policy" had gone under changes which caused the monthly payment to go up about $25 dollars/month (hmm ironic eh?) I then decide after over 6 months with CIA/Mapfre Insurance, I was ready to commit to a better full coverage insurance to protect my asset (my vehicle!). When I emailed Eric asking to go to full coverage-he seemed too busy and passed me off to their customer service rep. Not a big deal-especially during the holidays.Once I was passed over to Diana, we exchanged quite a few emails to be sure I was getting what I needed and I thought I was getting one thing (everything was detailed and outlined via email, this person said specifically that my policy would only increase my amount by $12 a month, or $60 total for the entire premium). Then my billing statement comes, and on top of giving the insurance company a $100 premium for the old policy on December 16th. Then to go from that same PL/PD policy up to Full Coverage they want an additional $225 which was due 1/6. Within 30 days-I gave this company close to $300+ dollars only to get a bill 2.5 weeks later showing my monthly payment was over $40 more a month that what I had previously! SO....nothing was accurate or correct that the CUSTOMER SERVICE REP/INSURANCE AGENT told me. NOTHING. EVERYTHING WAS FALSE. As soon as I got the bill in the mail, I emailed Diana right away CC'd Eric, and after my frustrated email---I never even heard back from Eric, but only got an email from Diana trying to fluff her error in communicating figures to me. I copied and pasted the thread of emails into the response to her and highlighted where she had specifically given me the numbers....but...somehow...this is "PRO-RATED"....regardless I still opted for what she said in all email communication so I should have been receiving pro rated prices. You don't quote a price and then not give that price. BAD BUSINESS & CUSTOMER SERVICE. She sent a copy of the declaration page which they send via Email so you can auto sign and email it back so the policy is in force asap-which what I thought I was signing was based on the email convo we had. So my policy would raise from $85 to $97. WRONG. So now I have gone to GEICO. I legit saved 30% and at a price I can afford. I do not recommend MAPFRE Insurance OR Commerce West Insurance to anyone without doing research. I am now getting quality car insurance, more coverage and better coverage too for the same amount I WAS paying for PL/PD bare minimum insurance. My final advice to anyone looking to change car insurance companies, getting a quote from a company, or any insurance need in the future...DO YOUR RESEARCH! Also...always let someone review your policy or paperwork before signing or committing to anything. If they have an office, go IN! Talk to your agent face to face...and take someone with you so that you don't get taken advantage of. Make sure everything is in writing and makes complete and total sense. Last but not least--make sure the company is credible. read more

Absolutely incredible experience while I was a client with Chrysalis Insurance Agency. I was paying an EXTRAORDINARILY high premium for car insurance and Eric Evans cut my bill down by almost $100 a month.
