I love Chrysler Hall! There are no terrible seats here. We visited recently to see The Wiz, what an amazing show. The food is the normal snacks, popcorn, charcuterie, candies. The overall ambiance is a vibe. You could choose to come fancy or casual and it is totally acceptable.

Went with my bestie to check out the play The Thorn. If you ever get a chance to see this play run don't walk to go see it. It not what you would ever expect. It's better. You will laugh cry gasp and yes it said gasp and yes I said laugh. It's a must see. Very well done.

I enjoy seeing shows here. Nothing spectacular but nothing bad either. We had very good seats but you can see no matter where you sit. The staff is friendly and helpful. They even have a place for people to take photos....little photo op situation. My biggest complain is the highway robbery they are charging for drinks!!!!!!! It's absolutely ridiculous. And they are cashless!!! I paid $5 for a bottle of water which was easier to stomach then the price of alcohol and food.

Another one for the books. What a great musical. We enjoyed every second of it. The Genie definitely stole the show but that's not to say that everyone else wasn't amazing. He had a way of making you feel like you were part of what was going on. I truly appreciate how organized and professional this venue operates. There is someone available to help you every step of the way from the moment they check you in. I also appreciate them having sufficient staff to help during intermission so that you can get back to your seat in a timely manner. If you get the chance to see Aladdin take it. You will throughly enjoy it and it appropriate for all ages.

This was my first time attending an event at Chrysler Hall and I will say I am very impressed. There's a parking garage right underneath. It was well staffed. The sound was great. The seats were comfortable. Will definitely be looking to attend more events here There was a booth where you could get some drinks. I don't know if they had food and of course the drinks are highly priced but that's to be expected

Upon arriving at Chrysler Hall to see Hamilton, I was pleasantly surprised to see a parking garage right across the street since I was unsure exactly where the parking was located. The parking garage charged $10 (event cost) so I gladly paid and found a parking space. The first thing I noticed when I entered the Hall was the beautiful chandeliers and art sculptures! The venue was very clean and had coffee, beverage and snack stations in certain areas for purchase. I loved all the seating in the foyer as well, that comes in handy when you are waiting for a show to start. Thankfully, there were many ushers walking around helping guide people to their seats so I was able to be quickly get to my seat with a little assistance. The ushers were very friendly. The seats were pretty comfortable and the area where I was seated gave me a nice view of the stage! Hamilton was a PHENOMENAL show that I hope others get to experience as well and I'm so glad Chrysler Hall was able to bring this wonderful play to the Hampton Roads.

Kountry Wayne...my boo psst don't tell my hubby

I'm a huge fan of the comedian Kountry Wayne. So when my husband surprised me for Mother's Day with VIP meet and great tickets I was ecstatic. Originally I'd made plans to attend with family bit gave my extra ticker to my bestie. I'm going to be truthful I say KW about 5 years ago at the Funny Bone and it was cramped like a can of sardines. This time around I'm so happy he was at the Chrysler hall. The Chrysler is definitely bigger than the Funny Bone and I feel the spacing, parking, overall flow of functionality just works for bigger name individuals. Now I do feel the orchestra center stage floor VIP seating could have been done a tad better in my opinion. I enjoyed the show and the viewing advantage point, just would like the chairs to be a tad bit more spaced apart so I don't feel my cheeks tooking a strangers leg please. Parking was a quick walk across the street....not a fan of Norfolks parking fees for events but got to bite the bullet. Clean bathrooms also are a mist for me and theirs were clean so thank you Chrysler that goes a long ways in my book.

And I thought balcony seating would be the nosebleed section but am happily mistaken especially if you get rows A thru C. Still very good views of the stage, might even be better than orchestra seats that are so close to the stage. With plays/musicals with big sets and lighting, it's better to get a birds eye view so you don't miss any movement. Watched Cats tonight and the show was great! I actually enjoyed this better than when I saw it on Broadway decades ago. The staff at Chrysler Hall were accommodating, letting me wait to the side for my friend to arrive with our mobile tickets. Security was slight, didn't enforce checking bags nor walking through security scanners-must be when they were rushing to get people seated. The venue was small but intimate, acoustics and sound system was great. Carpeting is a little dated.

    Epic fail, Chrysler!!!!! Yuck!

Epic fail!, Chrysler. I have lived here more than 30 years. I have attended concerts, ballets, recitals, and some iconic plays right here at this very venue. I saw Aida on this stage; I saw Hamilton here; I saw Lion King and Phantom of the Opera...and every single time I arrive, the routine to enter is the same--come early, enter, grab a drink and casually make it to our seats. Today, it's the NEW JACK CITY play. Black cast and crew, tailored to a predominantly black audience, and now there is a SECURITY check with a metal detector scanner and purse check! I arrived early and spent more than 42 minutes in line waited to be treated like this. If you don't need security this stringent for HAMILTON Or LION KING or CATS--and the tickets cost the same price--why do you need it for this event? If a person can afford these tickets for this show, trust me, they didn't come with ill intent that you need to have such a rigorous security check! This is ridiculous; this is wrong; this is DEMEANING!!

It's the first time I can ever recall being in the Chrysler and for its age I found it impressive. Most likely built in the mid 70's around the time of the nearby Scope. The design is kinda Kennedy Center boxy. The parking garage is conveniently located under the venue. Parking is not free. They get big off Broadway shows, however the runs are typically shorter than say Richmond. The demand for tickets was high for my show. My wife, daughter and I saw the performance of Wicked. Tickets were obtained from Ticket Master. My family sat in the Orchestra which was excellent. Seating was comfortable, sound was good, but the stage seemed small. Refreshments were ready at intermission and the popcorn tasty. The overall corridors and theater clean and well maintained. I would return, however I would park smarter. If your in the basement your a bit screwed and it takes forever to get out. So try and avoid. But if you must park by the elevators side ramp. You will be first out. 3.5 seems a perfect fit, but will round up.

Going to Shen Yun tonight and I realized I'm going to be seated in the balcony... not the dress circle but the one up higher. My vision isnt the best so I'm wondering what's the view is like? I'm crossing my fingers it's not moving dots

I saw The Lion King from the balcony, and I enjoyed the show. You aren't very far that you won't be able to see the performers, costumes, or anything on stage. I had the same concern, but I had a good view of the show. You should be able to make out… Read more

Where are the best seats for two people who want to see everything?

The best seats are going to be front center orchestra (FCORCH). Sometimes they even remove the first several rows, so rows DD, EE, FF, etc are pretty close to the stage without too many people in front of you and you have a great view of the show!

Most recently we've seen the Tenderloins (TruTV's Impractical Jokers), but we've also seen Ira Glass and shows like Book of Mormon and Wicked.

I go to HK too many times. The place is everything you can ask for in a bar. Cheap drinks, great food, happy hour damn near all day and the staff are always nice. They are always playing good music, going thru their slideshow on the tv with everyone up there (except me for some reason), or they got the game on and everyone is feening for a spot at the bar. When I work in downtown they are always a viable option for food and when I'm out on the weekends they are the place to go for a nice drink and maybe a pre snack before the main event of the night or the food that's gonna get me through until I get home from a great night. Also! They have daily deals! Monday they have Pizza and Wine half off, Tuesday they have margs for cheap and some tacos and quesadillas on sale, Wednesday is Steak Dinner Date night (2 for $22 bucks you can't beat that anywhere), and Thursday is the day you'll see me for burger night with $2 PBRs. I have seen many burlesque shows here and it's always a good time I never feel like the music is too loud which I get at some other venues or that the lights are too crazy. I also appreciate that the venue is very accessible to people who have a disability and need accessibility. It has gender neutral bathrooms and a snack bar where everything is a dollar and honestly what can you get for a dollar these days, not much. On the performing side the backstage area is smaller but still very easy to fit multiple people in and their gear. There is also a booth where you can run sound and lights and has a great sound system and lighting system built in. I highly recommend you check out any show that is there I know they have a burlesque show coming up on December 10th 2022. They also host open mic nights, poetry slams and other epic events that I highly recommend checking out.

I'm not really a fan of this seating style because we waited a good little minute for a server to notice we were seated and finally bring menus to our table; though they were really just standing around not doing anything. Once we did get a server's attention and finally got menus, I would say that the service or specifically our server, he was really attentive and friendly. I must note that I did notice while we were dining, a couple came in and sat themselves and waited for a good while for a server to notice them, which never happened, so they eventually got up and left. To drink: I got the Cucumber Cooler and the Impeachable Crush (3/10) both drinks just straight up tasted like juice / flavored soda with absolutely no alcohol in them at all. Completely got no buzz from them, so I was very disappointed in the drinks I had. Upon looking around the room, I guess maybe their cocktails and crushes aren't their specialties, as everyone mostly had a beer / canned drink, so I don't know. To eat: we got Mozz Sticks (8.5/10) a little salty and split a large Mighty Meat Pizza (10/10). Both the mozzarella sticks and the pizza came out piping hot, fresh, and flavorful. I was very joyful that the food ended up being a hit, though the drinks were not. I can see myself going back to Chicho's for the pizza specifically. I don't see myself going back for a combo of drinks and food / a night out, so it's not very likely that I'll be back anytime soon; unfortunately. My overall rate of experience : 5.9/10
