The original owners new how to make real bagels, these owners not so much. The bagels are thin extremely hard to cut, have zero flavor. For instance a cheddar bagel shouldn't be a plain tasteless bagel with a piece of cheddar cheese slightly melted and a pinch of Italian seasoning on the cheese. So when you toast it one side is completely plain and the other side the cheese slice burns in the toaster as well as the seasoning! Come on this place used to have deluxe bagels To spend $20 and have hard tasteless bagels is not a reason to return. read more

This is the second time I used Chubba's for a work event. They are located conveniently close to my job on Main Street. Plenty of parking in front. I placed the order the day before and was able to pick it up when I needed. They do not make the bagels fresh here, they order them and bring them in. The cream cheese from what I was told is mixed every day including the flavors. Great prices on both bagels and cream cheese. I bought a few different varieties including blueberry, sun-dried tomato, egg, whole wheat, sesame seed, etc. For cream cheese I ordered plain, vegetable, strawberry, jalapeño, and scallion. The cream cheese is very good. My favorite is always the scallion. The bagels are OK, nothing great. This time they weren't as fresh. I was told by a few people that the egg sandwiches are good. I love reading other people's reviews on places like this. Stuff like "OMG the bagel wasn't cut evenly" and "OMG it took so long to get my order I was late for my Yoga class". I can tell you with a pretty high certainty that these people are dumb. Let's move on shall we. First off, it's a small/neighborhood type joint. Locally owned, hires students, yadda, yadda, yadda. That being said, don't go into this place expecting like nationwide chain levels of consistency. Should you expect a fair amount of consistency? Of course, you should, that's true for any place of business. But might there one day be a bit less cream cheese or a little less of a toast on your bagel? Probably, so either prepare for this or go elsewhere. The family and I have been going here for the better part of 10+ years and have ordered pretty much everything off the menu. There have been a few stumbles along the way, but overall for the price and convenience and supporting a local business, it's a yes from us. The bagels aren't quite up to Ami's levels of awesome, but they're about 20 times better than the best you'd get at the chain. Sandwiches always good, great coffee, great service. Pretty much a regular stop whenever we're going by with rumbling stomachs. Also, don't walk out of there without a Chubbachinno. Trust me, it'll make sense. read more

I like going here to get bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches on a toasted hard roll. This is one of the cheapest places around to get a breakfast sandwich. I really like how the eggs are fluffy. read more

Stopped by Chubba's this morning for breakfast, what a find! I got an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. It was great and came with a healthy portion of smoked salmon. They have a ton of options and different spreads. Drip coffee was tasty too, which is a rarity for me to find.....and everything was very reasonably priced. The bagels are usually pretty good. The service is usually very good. I stopped for a bagel today. While it was being toasted a older lady who was waiting on me asked me if I wanted a coffee. I said ok. As she's making my coffee she's coughing over the open coffee like she has black lung. Even though I had already paid for it I took my bagel but left the coffee behind. I don't think I'm going back because Tony's down the street is better anyway. read more

Terrible! Got a chicken cutlet on a toasted bagel. Asked for and didn't get : extra toasted , no chips , coleslaw. Cutlet was dry and stringy. Lettuce and tomato was anemic. Ended up throwing it away. read more

I am so torn with this review!! Today (8/11/17) I stopped for six bagels and a pound of chicken salad. Chubba's chicken salad is a favorite in my family!!! HOWEVER- today was depressing when my 9 year old daughter found a bone in the chicken salad! Fortunately the bone didn't hurt anyone, and it probably won't stop us from ordering chicken salad from Chubba's in the future- but they should be aware and be a bit more careful to pick out the bones!! Went for coffee and Bagel after work wanted to enjoy my late lunch well needless to say my cranberry bagel and strawberry cream cheese was lousy worse I have had in a long time. This place has been around for ages. I am twenty three years old and have always been in this area. I remember my mom taking me for bagels after ballet and gymnastics since I did both in the Watertown area. The paintings on the wall are the same as they always been. I'm a traditionalist and don't really try new things. I'm upset they switched from nestquik to TruMoo but what can you do? Stick to the originals. I always get a bagel with chocolate milk here. The woman behind the counter has been here since I was a kid. Seating area is small, 8 tables with 3 chairs each. They will bring your food to you if you are dining in but on the weekends good luck finding a table. read more

They have amazing bagels, and good portions. Everyone is very friendly and prices are reasonable.

The bagels here are very good. I usually get a garlic one with scallion cream cheese. But, their breakfast sandwiches are not so good. They use those weird yellow eggs that look and taste like the ones at mcdonald's or dunkin. I haven't had a chance to try any of their lunch sandwiches yet but would like to. I eat here for lunch occasionally, my favorite sandwich is the eggs salad; not too much mayo, nice and light, it really hits the spot on a toasted roll. The food is overall really solid, but you just can't beat the price. Under $5 for a sandwich, chips, and a pickle. Funny enough, I've actually never had a bagel from here. Ordered half a dozen bagels, the bagels were hard and dry. By the next day, it became even harder. The jalapeño cheese cheese was good but not enough to help the dry hard bagels. I also ordered the smoked salmon on a plain bagel toasted, it was good but again the bagel was hard to bite into. Going back to Ami's bagels. read more

I went here for a little bit about a few months ago. I usually only go for a coffee because they had this really good cinnamon one (french toast). I had been paying the same price for the coffee since I started going there and could walk in with the exact change. One day, I walked in and ordered the usual and it was .30 cents higher... I asked the server why that was, and her remark was, "it's always been that price." I kindly replied "No it wasn't" and luckily someone else who was there had the extra change for me. It being 7am this experience definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. Once they can figure out their prices then maybe I'll be back but I rather give my money to the Corporations down the road since their prices are consistent. By the way, I ended up going back for lunch one day and I had ordered the pizza bagel... the sauce was canned, the cheese was terrible and the bagel was nothing special. I felt terrible for the business because the food was horrible. I ordered the Pasta Fagiola and it had been sitting so long that the noodles were bloated and practically mush. My friend that was with me even had a terrible meal and at that point, we decided we're not coming back. read more

This Chubbas has been around for ages it seems like (since I was little), which is a good thing. Not living in Watertown until recently, I never really stopped here only because I never came down this way. I recently stopped there on our way out for the weekend to get some sandwiches for the trip. While the waitress was nice, their food at this location could use a makeover. They have another location down the street at the medical building that borders Middlebury/Watertown. There, they have a full service kitchen so you can really get whatever you'd like. I really wanted an egg sandwich, but here I was told that they only cook scrambled eggs, therefore that's all I could get here. Also, I wanted a french vanilla coffee and it was probably the most disgusting coffee I've ever tasted. It tasted bad, as if it had been sitting in the pot for awhile. It's not to expensive, so I will give them that. But with diners all around the area, I would rather have a little bit more of a wait to get a better tasting sandwich, or just go to the other location and get food there. read more

Terrible eating experience. The boss was rude to not only customers, but staff right in front of the counter. Loud, obnoxious, and swearing for the whole store to hear. Also, I was paying extra for low-fat cream cheese to find out THEY DON'T HAVE ANY! They gave me regular cream cheese, telling me it was low-fat, and having me pay extra.
